Loved watching this, I was born in Beit shemesh , raised in nyc and now in phoenix Arizona in the community where efriam is from. Loved seeing my home, would love to see more and maybe god willing move back one day.

Yeah, my daughter lives in Beit Shemish, Son lives in Ramat B.S. alef, and other daughter lives in Karme Gat. They say to rent first before you decide to buy a place as you want to know if it's right for you. Also, if you have children you need to consider schools. You need to consider if you would fit in. I live in a mostly Israeli area but I have made friends, acquaintances you might say. It may seem strange but I find it's more real, I feel this is my home in Israel and now I would feel living back in US would be completely weird, I prefer Israel.

If I can make aliyah, I will not be able to move into such a luxe place. I'll be renting a single room, or some tiny place maybe with no shower and I have to use the local bath house or some shit. I've lived in Silicon Valley for a long time now and at times with no running water, crapping in a coffee can (it's an art) and so on. I don't think there's anything Israel could throw at me as a poor person that would make me blink.

I choose to believe in Hashem. Too much weird shit to not count G-d out. Trivial example: I was looking at folding bikes for a while. Was considering a Brompton but they're $1200 for the base model. I look, on a whim, at a local used bike place (non-profit, donates bikes to poor/homeless, bikes for kids, takes donations from people who donate their old bikes, call it a "bike kibbutz") and they'd just gotten in, that very day, a folding bike. They wanted only $100. I paid on the spot and a couple days later took public transpo to go pick it up. Hashem wants me to have a folding bike? Maybe!

Is it unusual or difficult for an older (60 yr. plus but look younger) single, professional (Ph.D & two MAs) to make Ailyah to Israel? I don't have $ to retire, and I would still need to work. Is it feasible to move from America to Israel when you have a lot of valuable things (artwork, antiques, etc.)? I think it would be daunting to move to Israel solo without any family for friends in Israel. Someone mentioned a kibbutz, so I could integrate into a readymade community, but I am not sure about not owning anything. i wouldn't live near a border of an Arab country. I have dreamt about moving to Israel since the 1990s, but I was told years ago that people move when they are young (20s) or retirement-not 40s. All the videos never address other age groups-just young families.
We're thinking about coming back to E"Y. But the biggest problem is to choose the city and the community, to not be alone as we've been after our aliyah to Nahariya. We've been in Bet Shemesh but not understand the city vibe and structure at all. There's no info we found about places to visit. It was just kind of travelling ut the mountain and we were not aware about the right neighbourhood we're in (Aleph, Bet, Gimel). Can you give us some tips? as for a family with small kids, we're thinking about Netanya, Yerushalaim and may be Bet Shemesh. Can you give your impression and more details about living in BS?

beit shemesh is amazing with probably more affordable housing than jerusalem. Calm with clean infra. I love netanya but would skip with a family. Jerusalem is also amazing but it's a big city

Unfortunately not everyone can afford to live in there, extremely expensive!
It's all relative
You can rent a place and it's cheaper than a big city in US renting. My Son, it took him several months but he found a job that was on line helping doctors. My daughter in law has been going to school part on line and part in Jerusalem for therapy work. Soon she will do this and get paid. Slowly slowly. Someone lives near one of my daughters and they make pickles and stuff and made a business out of it. You don't live with so much material goods and life style like in the US. The decorations are sefarim.

Shabbat shalom, I'd love to be in touch with you. I've been thinking Aliyah for most of my life, the community shown looks absolutely beautiful, I have a daughter in Kfar Tapuach, but I need something financially feasible for a senior. Any advice would be wonderful.

Israel=Western Palestine.

The monarchs of Eastern Palestine succeeded to increase the population by birth rate and bringing Arabs from Arabia, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.
The result is spectacular ~ 12 million citizens. In 1947 only ~500000! Compare with Israel: ~1 million in 1948.
All in all Palestine houses 26 million human beings
