I have a 2008gt . It really is gorgeous but as i dislike manual vehicles i always go for the auto. It is a brilliant gearbox with 8 speeds and you wont know it is changing gear, it is so smooth. It has paddles but if you use those you might as well get a manual box. Oh AJ there must be something wrong with your touch buttons as i only lay my finger on the top and it changes
Like others have said, brilliant review and likeable person. After watching this review along with many others I placed an order for a fully loaded Orange GT auto. 5 months on and I love it. After a 6 month wait, it was worth it. Lovely drive and reasonably good on fuel. Excellent build quality. Now early cam belt issues have been sorted engine should be good if serviced regularly. Keep up the good work. If your thinking of buying, don't think just buy. Highly recommended.
Actually, it's because of the 'wet belt', that these cars aren't recommended. I was going for this car (second hand), but was ill-advised by others not to buy it, because the distribution belt runs through oil, which has a higher risk of degrading the belt and if not caught on quickly, even clogging things up. Hence why you need to service it regularly. More regularly than cars with 'dry' distribution belts or distribution chains. If anyone would go for this car, go for the Hybrid engine, as that one has a distribution chain. I actually like the lights better on this version than the new 'facelift' model. But I was too late. So now I'm just going to wait 'till the Hybrids of this version will hit the second hand market. So I'll probably have to be patient for another 2 years or so.
Good review but the GT Line you are driving has several optional extras. Panoramic roof, blind spot mirrors and park assist are all extras. Also the controls you were so forcibly pushing are touch sensitive no need to push them hard. If you don't want to take your gloves off on a cold winter's day just push voice control and tell it to increase temperature and it will, easy really. I have the GT Line in Pearlescent White, 130bhp. Don't get anywhere near high 40's mpg, averaging 42 mpg
Really enjoyed the video, informative and the one liners are hilarious! I placed the order for the GT Line, manual transmission, with the sunroof and gangsta white paint as optional extras. Can't wait, should be driving it by Christmas.
Hi AJ I absolutely love your blogs. Such an honest review of this gorgeous car. I’m very tempted now to go and test drive one. Keep doing what your doing as you certainly know what your talking about. Thanks again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
For the ones that already got one, everytime it's time for its maintenance, you need to ask for leaves/dirt to be removed from the upper part of the front shock absorbers, as it's already been detected, that the excess of that stuff will plug some sort of drain, that in time will cause that water from rain will filter to the shock absorbers, reducing considerably their life. You'll know it already happened to you, if you start hearing a slight but constant noise whenever you go over 100km/hr.
Good review. Nice looking car. But… I hired a manual GT for my recent UK visit. Even after two weeks of use we couldn’t fathom a)the heating system or AC was it on or off? - voice control NG. b) the dial illumination keep going dark as hell - why?? c) the clutch pedal was dangerously close to the firewall d) Why, oh why put an electric handbrake on a manual? Steep hill starts were tricky in normal mode but when I accidentally selected sport mode that was downright dangerous - wheel spin / sideways sliding. I normally drive an (oldie but goodie) Alfa Romeo 156 GTA manual. This was a nightmare introduction and experience to a modern car. No thx. Good looker though.
My order went in last week, delivery is expected late November or early December. I went for the GT Line Diesel manual in orange as I would have had to pay for any other colour. Cheers for your vid, I am about to watch all 21 mins of it with a beer! I am changing from a DS3 E-Tense as i cannot get along with a low range electric car for random journeys around the country.
@@AJThePlayerUA-camChannel I got it! Ordered the GT Line but Peugeot have stopped making it so sent me the 2021 GT instead, and there are differences from the 2020 GT, heres my review ua-cam.com/video/Zwe6rCR6i1k/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SteveFlaxvertCherry
ive absolutely loved the review in itself, minus the audio at the end and the aliasing jaggys and i gotta mention in places like here where a liter of mid grade petrol minimal to run this 1.2L is esentially 1.25€ and diesel per liter is basically half for the chepo and 3/4 for the nice diesel... i would be really tempted for that economy really....
Great honest review I'm seriously thinking of buying one myself now after watching this video, probably in the same colour as well and will be an automatic....
Good review !!! You need to buy new camera so we can see things better! And I'm saying that because you are good reviewer you deserve better quality to your channel !
Good video and well put together, was looking to get one of the these GT line in the fusion orange. But I am concerned about the position of that steering wheel. But in the meantime, I have driven the Seat Ateca FR Evo sport and you seem to get more for your money. So now stuck what to get ??
My money would be on the Seat as you you get a lot more for your buck and the build quality is slightly better. Hope that helps Many thanks for your comment
I am 6' tall and have the steering wheel at its highest position and can see the dash perfectly well. My daughter, 5'6"" can also see the dials no problem. I have no idea how small you would have to be to be unable to see them!
Great review, great little car, I do long travels (5/8 hours on the highway), how would we predict this engine (1.2 130hp) would last in the long run? Considering between this and a Mazda Cx-3 2.0L 120hp, But the 2008 boot size is much bigger as I have some luggage always with me. Thanks.
I’m afraid I wouldn’t go near an MG these days. Back in the day was a great British brand now unfortunately the Chinese have their fingers all over it and has been completely ruined. I feel embarrassed for them
Those touchscreens for temperature control are very annoying. Unfortunatelly is a tendency of the market, although Peugeot's controls design were almost always very good functional.
Liked the review, style and level of detail but... Inside the car, the audio is awful, distorted, could do with looking at that. Grip control is ONLY available on Allure Premium. Which mightily peed me off as I wanted to order it for the GT Line
Very interesting comment I was never told that by the press Department seems a bit strange you can’t get it in the top level models. Understood regarding the sound in car there was an issue with one of the mics. Many thanks for your comment always appreciated
@@stuartselkirk7581 Yes, but only from the 2021update when they also renamed gtline to GT and GT to GT premium, the first 18 months cars it was not available except as I described earlier.
When I bought my GT Line in April 2020 they quoted £500 extra for grip control. Having used it once in 7 years on my previous two 2008 cars I decided it wasn't worth it.

Diesel engine is not a no brainer. 3 cylinder high performance engine will not last compared to the diesel. I say the diesel would do at least double the miles or even 3 times the miles of a petrol engine. engines . That the same as 4-cylinder petrol engine. So 3 cylinders got no chance to beat a diesel engine on wear and tear

Great vid. Thinking of gt line diesel. Is park assist standard or is it an optional extra
Thanks for the comment. Park assist depends on the trim level you go for
Park assist is optional extra on GT Line
Also wouldn't go for diesel, it's an old unit they use. The 1.2 130 bhp is much better option.
This 2008 GT line or a ford Puma st line? A difficult choice.
