Surprised to not see BB16 make the list. Produced 3 winners (Derrick, Cody, Nicole), 2 houseguests on All-Stars 2, I found the cast extremely likable, Donny... hello?, from Zankie, to Nicole and Hayden, to the Hitmen, to Victoria just being out of the loop. Obviously every cast has it's flops (enter Christine) but overall I totally think BB16 is a top 5 newbie cast.

The herd cult mentality just enhancing players true nature on those seasons, similar minded people to echo their toxicity, and no one to really check them on their bigotry and awful behaviour to one another. Also often times people don't seem to differentiate when you're doing something for strategy without any personal motives (Will, Dan, Derrick, kaycee, Cody...) and ostrisize and ridicule someone like the plague only cause he doesn't fit in your game plan, often with personal reasons behind it (Adam, Nicole, Paul, most of 15 and 19, Jack, Kyland, Todrick...).

I’m such bb20 stan it’s not even funny😂 I think people rag on it so much because the last third of the season and the fact that the ending wasn’t as satisfying as other seasons but I feel like they often ignore how good the first two thirds of that season was. For some reason people remember the season as level six just dominating and while that did happen, they definitely didn’t have an easy road there. At the beginning of the show I’d say the sides were very even, foutte just got outplayed.

Agreed. It drives me crazy when people say the cookout was racist. Nope. After 23 seasons there were enough people of colour to get the first black winner of a regular season. Every other season the people of colour were only seen as their race e.g oh he is the black one from whatever season. It forced viewers to see people of colour as more than their race and it was spectacular. I have also loved Survivor. People are uncomfortable because they don't want to admit there was a problem with their favourite show in the first place.
Tbh it's super unfortunate BB15 had so many yucky players. It had so much potential. Asides from BB17, it was definitely the last season where everyone played for themselves. Plus a handful of players (Namely Elissa, Helen, Candice, Howard, Jessie, as well as a few others) I wouldn't mind seeing back sometime.
They put a lot of work into season 15 to be this grand season for the fans and with a different cast it probably would’ve been one of the best. But they had to revamp again in 16 but instead made it a grand season for anyone (casuals) to watch.

The legend of BB Speedrunning King Jacob goes on Really solid list Ethan. Seeing the BB23 cast does still put a smile on my face so I'm with you on that and you have to be a special kind of terrible to be worse than BB15 and BB21.
Don't know if this has been done yet, but I would love to see a video that details Fallen Angels of Big Brother. I think that Kyland is the perfect definition of this archetype and would love to know if there were any other players that went from extremely rootable to downright unbearable.
I personally love the craziness of the BB9 cast but I also understand them being the scapegoat for the 5th spot. I’d also switch BB13 and BB15 but that’s just me. Great video as always!
Also JC saying the n-word, Rache and Angela making racist remarks towards Bayleigh, and a few other controversies. The cast had a bunch of controversies, but they were great otherwise.

The success of BB20 is probably why so many houseguests from that season appeared on MTV's The Challenge. Bayleigh, Fessy, Kaycee and Swaggy C all debuted on Total Madness. Say what you will about The Challenge's "Big Brother Alliance," but four from one season debuting at once is incredible!
after every worst, I thought to myself, "what how is this not 1st". Then I would see the 4th to 1st on the list and thought to myself, "yea they sucked". This list is spot on.
Even though I think BB23 Derek F may be the worst runner-up BBUS has had since BB15 (at least), I will give him credit. Watching him utterly fail every competition was pretty funny. But... I am still team BB12 Kathy. Her drowning in the caramel pool while her team stares dumbfounding was one of my all time favorite BB moments. Lol.
I love this list because it’s actually accurate but the only difference I have is putting BB10 over BB6 simply because after the week, it was great strategy from Dan afterwards that determined the season.
I have to say, for rewatchability, gameplay, characters, and having that perfect blend of old and new school, I’d say either 15 or 17 has the greatest newbie casts. Minus the horrible people on 15, I think 15 is sandwiched between the old and new eras of the show. You get food comps, you get a season beginning twist (love it or hate it), you get unpredictable HOH reigns and a good play from the middle winner who floated until final 6. All around great season, in such a weird time of the show. Like I said, I know some players are awful but looking past that, the entertainment is next level when it isn’t being horrendous. 17 I’d say is just a great newbie cast. Lots of highs and lows, ups and downs, triumphs and heartbreaks. People to root for, people to root against. And a winner you didn’t see actually happening until later on!
I love 17 cast. EVEN AUSTIN! What a great villain! Vanessa's insanity mixed with strategy. Audrey! Audrey's pure meltdown. The fact that Grandma Meg and Jackie were the least entertaining (while still being pretty good) says a lot.
I thought 17 would’ve been on the best list. And I agree, 15 is sandwiched perfectly between old and new eras of the show. If they cast like they do today but structure the game like they did back then, we would be in for a treat.

23 was the first season I ever watched. I think if I saw 22 I would’ve never watched again, so I’m grateful. Second season I watched was 11&12 then 16. You can see how I was immediately hooked
As far as BB6 having the most players on the first All Star season. I think that as proof is misleading. They were all voted in by the fans and it was clear that all the picks by the fans for the guys and except for the infamously hated Ivette all the girls picks were the literal most recent to play. So it was clear regency bias was the reason so many BB6 players got on.

@@Ethanimale if you need to know context what I mean about a Cult Leader, it’s essentially players who are so revered, they’re basically never going to be voted out due to loyalty. And if they get voted out or the thought of voting then out crosses peoples minds, the acolytes of the cult leader freak out and try to protect them. They’re exit in the game causes melodramatic emotions within houseguests and shake up the game moving forward and or is the point where the line is drawn in the sand.
Maybe Jason from BB17? His alliance was already getting outplayed pretty badly by the Sixth Sense / Scamper Squad side of the house, but I'd say that's when the line was drawn.
i refuse to acknowledge season 20 purely because Foutte robbed us at one of the most evenly matched "half of the house vs house of the house" seasons ever , each side had comp power houses with potential, but Fouttee being dumb ruined what could of been the best season ever
BB23’s cast is absolutely one of the worst because more than half the players playing the game didn’t come to win. Seriously one of the worst cast I think I have ever seen across any country of big brother. Nice personalities but that doesn’t make them a good cast in the slightest, one of the most boring seasons and unlike the other boring steamroll seasons there were no dominant bb players just A lot of Mediocracy
Sometimes twists really do affect a Big Brother cast. BB19 is an example of that because BB19 could have been different if Cameron were there and not Paul

Bb19 was my first every season so I have to give it points for the nostalgia factor, however looking back omg how did I keep watching it. Paul ran the season and allison did nothing about it
I know it is a different type of season but I will always say that one of the best casts/seasons was BBOTT. 100% agree with the worst list. The best part of 15 and 21 for me was Julie calling out the racism live.
sad part about BB15 is the first 3 weeks were great and the mean alliance were losing people and Nick's Eviction and GM's reaction all that was great but then Aaryn started winning and Amanda showed herself
I gotta agree with u ethan, there’s NOTHING to watch rn. I am looking forward to the survivor season in the spring and the bb season in the summer, but that can’t come soon enough.
BB20 was the glory days... house was divided down the middle 8 v 8 right from week one, and practically every week was an entertaining mess of blindsides, game moves, and nailbiter votes. L6 was an amazing alliance, and watching Tyler (and to a lesser degree Angela) manipulate people into feeling safe or screwing themselves over was entertaining for me as a BB strategy lover. Only stain on Season 20 for me is that Tyler didn't win. I think Tyler needed to go to the end with Angela (Tangela final two) to have a chance, since both were pretty much hated by the Jury for being the manipulators ("Palpatine" and "the Ice Queen" respectively, lol). Moment he lost the game was the moment JC won HoH for the one and only time and messed up the endgame plan at F4, and then Kaycee won Veto. His best case scenario probably would've been Angela winning veto (she'd have saved Tyler presumably) thus not getting any blood on his hands for losing Kaycee while ensuring F2 with her since there wasn't a chance in h*ll JC was beating either of them in F3 HoH. I was too invested in this season, lol. Remember feeling sick when I found out from BB Updates what happened with the F4 veto. Knew in that moment Tyler was screwed. Sad days for a game fan. :/ Anyways, also agree on BB19. That year was just "the cult of Paul" and the only redeeming things about it were Jess and Cody, and the bitter (Cody inspired) Jury refusing to let Paul win. So boring when everyone just follows the one vet every single week to the point of organized/mass comp throwing.
I literally just finished Season 20 and I LOVED it. The fights and drama and bromance and just everything was so much fun to watch....and then I started Season 21. It's really boring and I definitely thought it curious how all the minorities were targeted first.
I am very biased toward bb20 because it was my first season. And while I went back and watched all the other seasons that I could find you never forget your first season.
My favorite season will always be big brother 16 just with Devin grabbing half of the house for the bomb squad, “Fruit loop Dingus”, the alliances and fights it has it all (the only bad thing was Christine)
i agree with your list! 19 could have been so good with the theming if the casting was better. i would love to see a season of something like "second chances bb" and bring back some much likeable cast members who left pre jury.
it still sucks that the Friendship members got as much hate as they got and some are still in hiding since they were absolutely crucial to BB6 being as enjoyable as it was. No, I don't have access to the live feeds for what Maggie said, but it's still being debated on what she actually said.

I honestly say BB21 had the worst cast and while I plan to watch it again, I remember how uncomfortable it all was. Plus the houseguests all were boring. However I still give Michie props for managing to pull the win. Meanwhile I’d say BB19 would be the 2nd worst. That’s because there still were some funny moments like Cody being Cody, Cody & Jessica, Matt & Raven being delusional which was funny, the bitter Jury, but my favorite part of the entire season was when Josh won and how satisfying it was for all us viewers 🤷♂️
I feel like I'm the only one who liked BB19. If you asked me while it was airing what I thought about it I would've said it was the worst season ever but after re-watching it I've grown to love it. The fact that Paul could manipulate all those people on his second season was hilarious to me.
My big problem with 23 is yes it was a good game and the players were interesting but it was just so obvious from the day the cookout alliance was formed that they'd be taking the game and from that moment forward they cruised to the end. Im happy for the African American community though absolutely I just hate when there's an obvious alliance that runs the house all season.
Absolutely hate that Jackson won after making racist comments so much so he went straight to his parents to see just how bad things were. Season 15 was my worst.
Like the 6 pups of the Paw Patrols, are the 6 African American Houseguests of the strongest alliance in BB 23 known as the Cookout that made history for making it to the final 6.

for me BB21 was hard to watch, but I went in with a huge bias for Tommy because I had just finished performing Newsies in high school lmaooo so my friends and I were all rooting for him! detested pretty much everyone else, there was so much gross behaviour that BB23 was a breath of fresh air

I loved 17 and didn't think anyone could ever beat them and then 20 happened.
BB20 was probably my best season. Tyler and Brett were awesome houseguests! If Tyler won that season it would've been perfect!

I thought 17 would’ve been on the best list. And I agree, 15 is sandwiched perfectly between old and new eras of the show. If they cast like they do today but structure the game like they did back then, we would be in for a treat.
I couldn't stand anyone on BB15. The villain houseguests were racists and the good guys had no real backbone and couldn't stick up for themselves.
@@franco0003 that’s fair. It’s a polarizing season. I try to put aside the negativity and racism to salvage the gameplay. It’s a shame that in a season with great gameplay gets covered and tainted by horrible people.

23 was the first season I ever watched. I think if I saw 22 I would’ve never watched again, so I’m grateful. Second season I watched was 11&12 then 16. You can see how I was immediately hooked

As far as BB6 having the most players on the first All Star season. I think that as proof is misleading. They were all voted in by the fans and it was clear that all the picks by the fans for the guys and except for the infamously hated Ivette all the girls picks were the literal most recent to play. So it was clear regency bias was the reason so many BB6 players got on.

@@Ethanimale if you need to know context what I mean about a Cult Leader, it’s essentially players who are so revered, they’re basically never going to be voted out due to loyalty. And if they get voted out or the thought of voting then out crosses peoples minds, the acolytes of the cult leader freak out and try to protect them. They’re exit in the game causes melodramatic emotions within houseguests and shake up the game moving forward and or is the point where the line is drawn in the sand.

Maybe Jason from BB17? His alliance was already getting outplayed pretty badly by the Sixth Sense / Scamper Squad side of the house, but I'd say that's when the line was drawn.
The thing about BB21 is that after Gr8ful and 6 shooters broke up it got so much more interesting.
i refuse to acknowledge season 20 purely because Foutte robbed us at one of the most evenly matched "half of the house vs house of the house" seasons ever , each side had comp power houses with potential, but Fouttee being dumb ruined what could of been the best season ever

BB23’s cast is absolutely one of the worst because more than half the players playing the game didn’t come to win. Seriously one of the worst cast I think I have ever seen across any country of big brother.
Nice personalities but that doesn’t make them a good cast in the slightest, one of the most boring seasons and unlike the other boring steamroll seasons there were no dominant bb players just A lot of Mediocracy
I love season 10. Easily my favorite. I didn’t love this last seasons cast. Don’t think they’re top 5. But not bottom either. Middle of the road.
Sometimes twists really do affect a Big Brother cast. BB19 is an example of that because BB19 could have been different if Cameron were there and not Paul

sad part about BB15 is the first 3 weeks were great and the mean alliance were losing people and Nick's Eviction and GM's reaction all that was great but then Aaryn started winning and Amanda showed herself

Big brother canadas season is going on right now and it’s been surprisingly good so far, I’m enjoying this season alot
BB20 was the glory days... house was divided down the middle 8 v 8 right from week one, and practically every week was an entertaining mess of blindsides, game moves, and nailbiter votes. L6 was an amazing alliance, and watching Tyler (and to a lesser degree Angela) manipulate people into feeling safe or screwing themselves over was entertaining for me as a BB strategy lover.
Only stain on Season 20 for me is that Tyler didn't win. I think Tyler needed to go to the end with Angela (Tangela final two) to have a chance, since both were pretty much hated by the Jury for being the manipulators ("Palpatine" and "the Ice Queen" respectively, lol). Moment he lost the game was the moment JC won HoH for the one and only time and messed up the endgame plan at F4, and then Kaycee won Veto. His best case scenario probably would've been Angela winning veto (she'd have saved Tyler presumably) thus not getting any blood on his hands for losing Kaycee while ensuring F2 with her since there wasn't a chance in h*ll JC was beating either of them in F3 HoH. I was too invested in this season, lol. Remember feeling sick when I found out from BB Updates what happened with the F4 veto. Knew in that moment Tyler was screwed. Sad days for a game fan. :/
Anyways, also agree on BB19. That year was just "the cult of Paul" and the only redeeming things about it were Jess and Cody, and the bitter (Cody inspired) Jury refusing to let Paul win. So boring when everyone just follows the one vet every single week to the point of organized/mass comp throwing.
LOL no. I called every single BB20 eviction correctly. That is how predictable and easy it was.
I literally just finished Season 20 and I LOVED it. The fights and drama and bromance and just everything was so much fun to watch....and then I started Season 21. It's really boring and I definitely thought it curious how all the minorities were targeted first.

My favorite season will always be big brother 16 just with Devin grabbing half of the house for the bomb squad, “Fruit loop Dingus”, the alliances and fights it has it all (the only bad thing was Christine)

Overall solid list and rather agreeable list,tho I’d swap 23 with 17,17 gave us way more players for me,then again I’m a lil biased cause I love Vanessa,she’s my 2nd fav female of time,behind Janielle and In front of Danielle Reyes,Steve’s one of my fav winners,also cause I’m like Steve myself,I’m a nerd w glasses and student from NY and everything,Austin is a delight,Johnny mac was great,Jordan,Shelly,clay,Liz,the twin twist wasn’t that bad,Jason was a awesome prejury boot

I honestly say BB21 had the worst cast and while I plan to watch it again, I remember how uncomfortable it all was. Plus the houseguests all were boring. However I still give Michie props for managing to pull the win.
Meanwhile I’d say BB19 would be the 2nd worst. That’s because there still were some funny moments like Cody being Cody, Cody & Jessica, Matt & Raven being delusional which was funny, the bitter Jury, but my favorite part of the entire season was when Josh won and how satisfying it was for all us viewers 🤷♂️

I feel like I'm the only one who liked BB19. If you asked me while it was airing what I thought about it I would've said it was the worst season ever but after re-watching it I've grown to love it. The fact that Paul could manipulate all those people on his second season was hilarious to me.
My big problem with 23 is yes it was a good game and the players were interesting but it was just so obvious from the day the cookout alliance was formed that they'd be taking the game and from that moment forward they cruised to the end. Im happy for the African American community though absolutely I just hate when there's an obvious alliance that runs the house all season.
Absolutely hate that Jackson won after making racist comments so much so he went straight to his parents to see just how bad things were. Season 15 was my worst.

for me BB21 was hard to watch, but I went in with a huge bias for Tommy because I had just finished performing Newsies in high school lmaooo so my friends and I were all rooting for him! detested pretty much everyone else, there was so much gross behaviour that BB23 was a breath of fresh air
