Felt weird seeing his relationship with Venomous and K.O. during the reveal ngl. Like even he thinks they should've drawn it out or slowly told K.O. about how Venomous is his dad he saw those purple sparks and just went "Nah, we gotta do this slowly." I feel bad though Shadowy fr just destroyed his life work and adequately destroyed everything full serial killer mode not even like slow classic evil just full airing out the block type shit with T.K.O., the factory's destroyed, the Plaza destroyed, even random miscellaneous places are destroyed. That was a red flag tbh, nothing against being evil but when you destroy your own house that's kinda a red flag but it tracks for T.K.O. since he's the embodiment of all of the traits K.O. suppresses so he literally is K.O. going through a mental breakdown. Really the more I think about it those episodes before the finale were really just Boxman trying to lessen tension between Venomous and K.O. in fear of K.O. literally having a mental breakdown and just destroying Boxmore. With the context T.K.O. is K.O. and that he was about to come out during the reveal that means that K.O. really has no issue just airing out all of Boxmore, so he's really walking this fine line until Shadowy basically destroys Boxmore himself by essentially encouraging K.O.'s mental breakdown in the final arc. When you look at it in that way the finale is a bit more sad as while T.K.O. feels somewhat more accepted (temporarily I might add) by Shadowy since he lets him fight and let out his anger he still clearly isn't stable as Boxmore's interior implies and furthermore the whole Plaza Tournament could be arguably K.O. trying to feel some level of control in his life. He just found out that his dad is a villain, he lets him do what he wants without his moms rules but essentially opposes everything he stood for previously, he accepts his negative traits but basically none of his positive ones, and then he basically just goes reverse and says "nah I just want dat power, I don't really like being around you kid." I think the best example of T.K.O. really being evident of not seeing himself as a villain is when in K.O.'s mind when he takes control for the finale he says specifically "This isn't a job for a hero, this is a job for me!" because it implies he doesn't see himself as a villain but he doesn't see himself as a hero either probably reflecting on K.O.'s whole villain blood fear he had since we know from a previous episode they share memories just hold different perspectives since K.O. is basically all of his positive thought and T.K.O. all his negative ones. Really T.K.O. unironically is that lack of a father figure meme, where K.O. can hide his lack of a father figure and kinda idealizes Mr. Gar, T.K.O. is where all of those underlying issues go whether it is the consequences of feeling powerless, to lashing out against Carol's strictness in that cookie episode. Like really when you read between the lines you can see what lead to this in the plot, the cookie episode is probably one of the most interesting ones because Carol unknowingly damaged K.O.'s mental health significantly when he sent T.K.O. away even though she admitted the cookie rule was arbitrary. Throughout the show we see that K.O. is a real stickler he follows the rules as gospel to a degree most other kids wouldn't due to his mother's influence but T.K.O. reveals that underneath all of the adherence and reverence he genuinely does have a desire to break some of them or have a bit of looser regulations. Really what K.O. needed was to feel somewhat justified, what he needed to hear was that his feelings of wanting another cookie were valid. Arguably K.O. not only goes to school, but works a part time job at the convenience store, and consistently fights robots from an evil company simultaneously, and he felt as though he was underappreciated and wanted that extra cookie which is a theme that's really prevalent in K.O.'s character. From his suppressed rage from being called a mama's boy to his feelings of being powerless, Dendy's manipulation causing K.O. to lash out in the lab episode, or even when Rad and Enid called him cute triggering his inferiority complex is it really a surprise that when he taps into his father's powers and achieves a turbo form that he goes mad with power? Essentially most of the show but especially that episode with the giant Jethro we see K.O. essentially feeling powerless so when he does get empowered he naturally grows a bit arrogant. This is not even considering that psychologically he suppresses these traits as well as his Lazerblast like powers seem to only come out when he's feeling powerless but this actually tracks somewhat as Carol would likely have an easier time training K.O. with her powers than his father's because his are . . . quite complex For context Carol has good muscle memory so she can copy moves like Mr Gar's elbow thing, while Lazerblast can manipulate energy (the purple energy similar to T.K.O.) In all seriousness it would be concerning if K.O. didn't discover T.K.O. in his childhood because if he never did he likely wouldn't have ever confronted those issues and likely would have even more suppressed emotions leading to an even worse outcome on his debut unless he ate a glorb at some point, or played face your fears again (honestly that game probably was the closest thing to really helping him in the early part of the series with his mental issues, if he played it again and was forced to confront T.K.O. earlier I wonder how that would've effected the series). At the end of the series I have questions about why Lazerblast felt powerless in the first place though. Shadowy figure was arguably weaker than prime Lazerblast just because he was artificial, that's why T.K.O. could hit him out of Venomous, Shadowy wasn't all natural it was what he ingested (now whether or not the personality was or not is debatable though as we can clearly see K.O.'s abilities are linked to his emotions, perhaps that's why Lazerblast's powers were weaker ironically because he felt insecure, maybe the Venomous we have now would be more competent with his previous abilities.
