PLUS, I actually became a ND fan living near South Bend in the 70s and still am! This particular loss was so unexpected from such a lower source that it triggered in me a latent hurt of OU's loss at that time. For me I just chose this present ND loss as settling the score.

Good job by the defensive coaching staff. They heated Leonard up constantly on 3rd down and even went with zero help over the top. They really trusted their guys could cover on the backend and get pressure up front. Whenever you're seen as the "least talented team", never be afraid to roll the die every so often. Sometimes those are the gambles that pay off the most.

This has to be the weirdest Football year of all time or at least for college sports. Crazy. I thought Notre Dame wooped ass only to find out it was the other way around. Id be crazy in saying this but maybe Josh Pate was right, there are no good teams this year and there are only a top 3-4 teams: Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, and whoever that 4 team might be.
if you simply watch the replay you can very very clearly see the knee go down right before the 22, the referee spotted it exactly right, which is actually extremely impressive given he probably could barely see it

To have marked him a half yard short when he was about a half yard past it means that the ref missed it by a full yard. Disgusting.
