I can't say I understand the idea of being annoyed at a Matrix. It's like being annoyed that an Optimus comes with an axe or an ion blaster. Why would anyone be angry that an Optimus comes with a standard part of his character design? especially after years of it only being a masterpiece thing.
I think it has something to do with how not only is the idea of a removable Matrix something that's been done a whole lot but really it seems like we haven't evolved beyond what we saw with Masterpiece since they are almost always undersized to look good inside the chest and really nowhere else.
I HATE WHEN MY ACTION FIGURES HAVE LORE ACCURATE FEATURES THAT DONT INTRUDE ON THE AESTHETIC DESIGN!!! I CAN'T STAND WHEN A TOY COMES WITH EXTRA ACCESSORIES THAT DON'T BUMP UP THE PRICE!!! RAHHHHH!!! STOP MAKING TOYS FUN HASBRO!!!
@@miffedakko9312 It's not really that... well okay, it's that for a section of the Transformers fandom, it's really just when you're a Transformers collector, you likely have several Matrixes at this point that are removable for no other purpose other than to be removable, extremely tiny because they're really only designed to look good inside the chest and at this point? It's just kind of something people are over.
It’s probably due to the fact that most primes don’t hold their matrix well the matrix is under/over sized, or theres nothing to actually do with it. you look at the wfc matrix, most of the figs it comes with cant use it well. Er prime only has the one hinge so he cant grip it well, galvatron can’t hold it at all, 86 Hot rod can ONLY hold it, laser primes proportions don’t allow him to hold it well. Those matrixes are also undersized, and we don’t need so many. Its become a meaningless accessory. What was once a really cool thing to get with a figure is now being handed out like candy to anyone who has so much as grazed the matrix. Hell, sg magnus came with one when he never even had the matrix (at least in the version that that figure is from.)
@@the-aspiring-creator4249 collectors also have a lot of ion blasters and energon axes. That doesn’t mean new figures shouldn’t come with them. Every toy is somebody’s first. Are you gonna tell somebody who only bought 86 ultra Magnus or Rhodimus if they want a matrix for their matrix chambers they should have to buy ER prime to get one? If you already have a matrix then just leave the new one in the chest. You don’t really need him to be able to hold it, the opening chamber is good enough, and it being removable means more versatile display. On my 86 shelf, Rhodimus stands behind hotrod and their both holding their matrixes, with the blast effects on to replicate the movies framing. I couldn’t do that if they didn’t both have matrixes that were removable. Do you really think it’s more convenient to have to share one matrix across dozens of different Optimus primes? When I pull my Reactivate Optimus down, I shouldn’t have to go get ER prime and take his matrix out of his chest so I can put in Reactivate’s chest just so I can use that functionality. If I wanna have Galvatron wearing the matrix in the display, I shouldn’t have to take Hot rod’s matrix to do so, especially if the display involves Hot rod holding the matrix. Optimus has a matrix, that’s a thing across basically every version of the character. If an Optimus has a matrix, the toy should come with a matrix. If a Megatron has a fusion cannon, the toy should come with a fusion cannon.
I kinda like the robot innards thing like how it is for the Astro boy set, it’s a kinda weird but interesting look to me, another example of this I really enjoy is from Megaman Zero 3’s Japanese box art I can see why it wouldn’t be that interesting thou on something like a transformer since the others are more human looking while someone like Prime is robot on the outside
2:19 i'm not exactly a lego person but part of me suspects the whole robot innards thing may be due to the fact that mechanical stuff is really detailed and thus it's a good way for a company to show off their design skills yk look at all the complex stuff we can do with bricks but that's just me
Personally I’d rather have four or five matrix of leaderships in case I lose one than one that I’d have to buy a masterpiece, Big Convoy, Cybertron Prime, or an old reveal the shield two pack to replace

Imo all Optimus figures should included a Matrix. All Optimus figures that actually can have one included, not literally all of them. Idk why it would even be a big deal. If you don't want to use it, then who cares, leave it in his chest. I don't want a Optimus figure to not include one just cuz quote-unquote "everyone already has one". If it can be included, then it should be included. I like the Matrix, its a cool little accessory that I can use whenever I want. Besides, the Matrix of Leadership is a very important artifact to Transformers Lore, & is very important to the Optimus Prime character. & this goes for other characters as well, like Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, Ultra Magnus, etc. An extra accessory is always nice, especially when it doesn't (negatively) affect to quality of the figure, overall. & if a figure is a repaint of Optimus Prime, then that doesn't mean the Matrix shouldn't be included cuz that character never had one, it should still be included cuz its already part of the mold & who cares if the character didn't have one before, its always nice for them to have one for story purposes, headcanons, or play. Again, any Optimus Prime figure that can have a Matrix, should have a Matrix.

Nah that was archival footage of when I was filming unicron for the WFC video. He hadn't eaten it then.
In my Lego Ideas Sonic set, the 1x1 clear Lego brick was missing, and that was made by Lego themselves. I know how it feels to have a piece missing.
