I believe that it is a good illustration. Here is why. While the lines aren’t clean, sure, the illustrator had a great understanding of lighting, gesture, and expression, which makes it a good illustration.
@@ginjenkins "great understanding of lighting? "what lighting?? expressions are ok i guess. by the lines i mean the paper lines in the background, this "college block" style. all in all to me it still looks like crap. almost everybody could paint that in a few seconds. i used to do this when i was bored in school lessons or so. just absolute minumum effort stuff...
So who is this guy? Does he have a degree in history ? He says the the medieval world was just as obsessed with sex as we are today, and that just is not true. If anything, they were obsessed with God.
The medieval world were depraved (just as we are). They acquired land and property through violence. Why do you think people retreated to the deserts to live and pray? Why do you think people lived in communals in monasteries? Why do you think the devil sent women to tempt Anthony? They were not obsessed with God.
I have a history degree and I teach it at high/secondary school. I assure you they were just as obsessed with sex as people are today. It is a basic instinct that one cannot simply surpress. There were brothels everywhere, including ones that were exclusively for the clergy. The main difference is they just didn't talk about it as much as we do.
I have a Masters in History & teach Christian Studies and Church History at a High School. @Olivia Walsh & the presenter are right. The appeal and thirst for sex is a human condition, removed from culture & time. If in doubt read up on St. Augustine.
