      As an ENFP myself, and only able to speak for myself, I wear my emotions on my sleeve as I enjoy deep conversations. I find joy in connecting with new people, and the best way to do that is through being open enough for people to see my words come from a genuine place, hoping this will inspire them to share a bit of their inner world.

      for me personally, it has to do a lot with how i feel everything so deeply and personally to the point when i’m “opening” up about really personal things, it’s barely the surface level stuff because of how deeply i feel. so i acknowledge other people might think i’m being very open but i feel like that’s just how i exist 🤣 nothing special

    That was so brilliantly done! When the INFP spoke, you mentioned about nervousness because he’s speaking in front of others! The nervousness in his voice! Oh that’s a feeling I am actively working on overcoming - not to care about what others think about my authentic views/ feelings!

      @Queen queen Hmmm maybe INFPs feel that way a BIT MORE than others? Just wondering, as I don't know whether it's fine to generalize it as social anxiety. And personally I kind of used to FEEL that intensely.

    • @zainulzaki7598

      It has something to do with validation I guess, it's hard (not impossible) to say what we truly feel, an idea to share with others, because first we don't know whether others will like it or not(comfortable or not). I don't know.. I've always ask multiple times during a conv if I overstep the line, or if it's too exhausting for the listeners.
      It's really easy for me to tap into ENFJ like presenting mode (I enjoy public speaking). But, it's going to be hard to fit in authenticity with that facade. I can last at most 1 hour, talking to a large crowd (any more than that would make me want to throw up). Not saying that being ENFJ is not authentic, no, not at all, I'm saying that I'm potraying an image of myself, thus, making me not authenthic.
      However, on a small group conv, where I can exchange ideas and values, I can engage that conv for houuurs. Because it allows me to explain my points vividly.
      I think every INFP can go public speaking, but to speak in a more in-depth tone would require high level of self validation.

    Interesting how the Fi dominant types (INFP & ENFP) did not speak verbally in response to their introduction, but nodded their heads. The INFP barely at that. They didn't feel the need to affirm the words spoken to them. Well, the EFSP has high Fi too but his Se overruled it and he made a confident response.

    The contrast between Fe (trying to connect with everyone, to the point of borrowing others' wording for his own concepts) and Fi (being as authentic as possible, but uncomfortable sharing) in this kind of group discussion was fascinating. Thanks Sara!
    One question: Is it just Te tertiary that tends to counter previous statements or is that a Te thing in general?

    • @SaraMBTI
      @SaraMBTI  3 роки тому +53

      It is more noticeable in tertiary Te. Te doms confront but they are less prone to counter. Tertiary Te seems childish. It sometimes seems as if the child is playing to be the big father who is Te dom (you can apply this to every tertiary function in comparing to doms)

    I've been unsure weather i was an entp or enfp for the longest time because of how people describe entps online (harsh, always blunt, unable to connect, always argumentative and aggressive...). Thank you for noticing that our tertiary function makes us more friendly than people believe. I think I'm a female entp and I've been people pleasing a lot in my past (laughing way too hard at people's jokes and not telling people that I don't agree to what they think). That tertiary Fe can be very visible imo, expecially when you were traumatized in the past. Tee hee, we 💅🌟traumatized 💅🌟

    • @Signe0184
      @Signe0184 2 роки тому +6

      I am also between those two. Usually why I am not considering myself ENTP is 'cuz I do not want to hurt the person with my debate. If I see that someone can get hurt I usually remain silent and don't engage. I don't think that facts should always be stated, and not everyone can handle the truth. I am very empathetic, but it is true that I am more prone to give a logical advice then just emotional support: I want to understand how a person feels and what are the best options for that person, using the all information available. But I will first try to comfort the person with "Don't worry, things happen..."

      @ᗩᒪIYᗩᕼ I think I am an ENFP and I will try to explain why. xD I had some hard times in the past so I neglected my Fi and was afraid of my emotions and had a hard time understanding them. I have strong values and I need to live according to them. In addition, I think I am more Fi than Fe: rich inner world, introspection, prone to "analyze" (let's say it like that) how the world affects me then how my feelings can affect others. I priorites individual value more than a group. And if people don't share my core values I tend to remove myself rather than adjust. Ofc I am not insensitive towards others, as I said, I don't want to hurt anyone with my debate, but there is one more reason for that: I don't feel good during heated arguments. :)

    I think Adam Sandler was not respected as much as an actor because of the roles he is taking which is staying on his niche like comedy. But you can see his complexity in Uncut Gems and for me what I see is a hidden Ni Ti usage that had now just been expressed for the past years of doing comedy.
    I also believe that INFJ have this ability to just make a character alive by how they perceive a person to be. Just as complex as they are and they show it through their Se which make us amused by their accuracy of portraying. That's how I see his character in Uncut Gems which is by far his greatest work yet.

      Are u an actress? While acting is def a form of self expression theres a lot technicality in it, such as voice, movement training, and holistic approaches like the Stanislaviski system which focuses on bringing emotional reality to actors and can help ppl better express themselves. You'll be surprised what ppl can do, when they recognise their barriers

      @@tahsina.c I'm not but I have a gcse and 2 a levels in drama, theatre studies and performing arts. We studied stanislavski. I am a musician though and I have no problem performing. Worth noting I may also have ASD waiting for assessment so maybe that's why I found acting challenging. I did get A's though. I'm an excellent writer and director if I say so myself

    being on the border of entp and enfp is so conflicting, sometimes i’ll share my deep personal experience and other times i’ll just speak logically. the logic can be really handy if someone is actually looking for advice out of a convo, but it doesn’t really help when the purpose is to emotionally connect.

      I had similar dilema. I landed with ENFP, in the end. I would suggest you to check whether you are Fi (ENFP) or Fe (ENTP). I think ENFPs are wrongly accused of being overly emotional people that "only follow their heart" and not rational and logical thinkers. I think mature and educated ones are more than capable of that. At the same time, matured ENTPs can be a very social and pleasant, and not just "cruel debaters". :)

    do intp's also respect the istj stoicism? i read that people admire people who have their tertiary function as their dominant, and are jealous or irritated if their inferior funct is someone's dominant

    • @janaretlow8699
      @janaretlow8699 2 роки тому +5

      I think for INTPs it’s a bit different because of inferior Fe, which is the ISTJs blind spot. I also think it strongly depends on how you would define stoicism or what level of stoicism a person is exhibiting. Speaking only for myself here, but a lack of feedback from the other person, be it through emotions, words or gestures, makes me insecure because I don’t know if the other person is bored, confused, spaced out, mad or whatever. What I do appreciate in other people, though, is a calm and quiet energy that allows for enough emotional or intellectual feedback. A loud or highly engaging person on the other hand might be fun for me to be around for a while, but it’s very draining in the end.

    0:36 I'm sure I'm ENFP like him but it's not easy for me to open up and speak shamelessly about deep intimate thngs in front of others, especially if I don't know them! Does it mean that my Fi isn't that developed?

  • @stallion2907
    @stallion2907 2 роки тому +2

    This was a difficult video for me. Waaay too much information to take in at once with the analysis being layered over their speaking in real time. I couldn't listen to them, watch their body language and micro expressions, and then come to my own understanding of what they were saying prior to the analysis being thrown on the screen. I think letting each individual speak and showing the analysis immediately after in a play pause fashion would've gone a looong way.
