Man, I really regret not selling the 790 Adventure in the autumn, I hoped I'd get more money in the spring, now it's hard to say. Because they can sink even further. They have always been producing less reliable machines (although it was never that bad before LC8c came) and often blaming their fault on customer "skill issue", and now it's coming to bite them in the ass. The issue is, so many people blame the bike issues on their cooperation with Chinese, whereas everything points to the opposite being true. The problems go back in time well before their cooperation but, most importantly, there is no complaints about chinese bikes coming out of the cooperation. Yes, maybe their buyers tolerate faults better, but we also get messages saying CF moto and others actually fixed the 790 engine for their bikes. This is not common knowledge, however, and if it becomes, it will hit them even further.
Ktm replaced mt cam (during valve adjustment) when I didn’t even know there was a problem. It ran fine. But, it actually runs better now. Will I need to replace the cam in another 20000 kms? Maybe. But I ain’t getting what it’s worth so will ride it into the ground. But it is my last KTM.
Ford, Chevy, Chrysler in USA had same problems as KTM. They survived. So will KTM survive. They will probably drop GasGas, maybe Husky and keep Orange bikes right?
You might learn that the cam issue was due to a manufacturing swap over, this can happen when they are made somewhere different and certain proceedures were changed and got missed.
Unfortunately there’s not many good new options, especially in the offroad world. Beta, Sherco & a few other small brands. That’s it. Really no other brand of size compares to KTM with that same tech. The Japanese stopped listening to their customers many years ago. Barely ever see Japanese bikes anymore in hard enduro, trail riding. I think you’re right about holding onto your KTM bikes.
As a point of interest my son and I moved to Beta 300rr for a change. His went first and now mine ate main bearings. Year old bikes. My KTM two strokes have been flawless.
It's people like me who get the best deal, because I'm not interested in the Tech Packs, so really don't want to pay for them. I get a decently priced bike.
Rieju Is a Spanish company. The bikes are built in Spain using mainly European and Japanese components. As far as I know there's no Asian Capital involved at all. It's more of a European brand than KTM is at the moment

Ktm as a collector's bike with all that electronics that will be obsolete in 10 years and difficult to service= i don't know man. Doesn't sound like a sound investment. Look at Cagiva for instance; there are still very low mile options out there. Electronic and servicing in some is one big deterrent. Now imagine the electronics of today on the ktm fastfarward to 10 years from now. P.s. Not financial advice. People should do their own research.

KTM is in a mature and competitive business. Before scaling the business they should have taken the leader(Honda) and emulated their business model. First produce bikes everyone can ride(cub cadet) build the cash up invest in R&D and build more specialty products ie., the SuperDuke 1290. Fully develop the after market and create a following. They've already bailed on their investments in MV. I don't think gas gas survives. There's no reason for any of the Spanish companies to buy up the brand. Rieju has done a nice job establishing their own brand and reputation. Husqvarna, on the other hand, has a large amount of brand equity.

My 790 duke's engine died this year after 26k km, repair would cost more than the bike itself so had to sell it for parts :/
Ford, Chevy, Chrysler in USA had same problems as KTM. They survived. So will KTM survive. They will probably drop GasGas, maybe Husky and keep Orange bikes right?
@@gregharris2928 we really hope they do survive, and yea probably drop all the other brands. Thanks for watching!!!
The Fantic XE 300 estart is pretty cool. Based off a YZ 250x. Romour has it Yamaha is going to start making them.

I think KTM will manage to keep going. But they will have to show that they can reshape the company to earn money. That means stop to the MotoGP racing that is really just thowing money away.
@@motofiction4233 I know it sounds crazy but I know 💯 if ktm goes down some people will exactly do that. It’s the same like buying a low mileage mid 90s truck. In the 90s they where worthless, just a 92 short bed with 9k miles sold for 27k. That’s crazy but a option. Of course it’s not what the bikes are intended for and hopefully ktm stays afloat. Ktm is extremely arrogant as an organisation-it’s not customers centric, yes the bikes are good, however R&D and final testing is done in the market at the expensive of the customer. Their executive teams should have been replaced years ago - incompetent

Hello from Canada 🇨🇦
I enjoyed your video. You made quite a few good points, probably the most optimistic video when it comes to this particular topic. However, I’m in a position where after some contemplation I decided to buy a 401 Husqvarna Votpillen 2024 (90%new this year) thus Spring …. Although you touch upon my concern about down the road if there’s gonna be parts available in specific, my concern is worst case scenario Husqvarna get dropped from their portfolio….they decide to go in a different direction with the 401s…. Now how long meaning how many years am I gonna be able to get parts for the 2024 model?
@@blacksheepspaniard3978 thank you for watching!!! Appreciate the kind words, honestly husqvarna will be in the same boat as ktm and gas gas. It would be difficult to guess how long the parts supply for that bike would last. But let’s hope they find a way to stay in business

Slowly!!! Over time. KTM’s are cool bikes but if reliability is not there and you fumble a recall? People don’t come in the showroom and your dealers leave the brand? You end up like KTM!! Always take care of your customers. They are your best salesman or your worst nightmare, if you screw them.

Ktm makes cool bikes. I agree they should ether just turn on all the electronics or sell it separately but that would save install price. Next they are probaly going to sell off brands. Worst case all brands are sold off including ktm and some ofther brand would own it. Probably cf moto. It would give them a good opertunity to to get into the markets that dont know who the owner is too. So yes i agree dont dump them if the current structure fails another company will aquire the brand the ktm name alone does have value.

@@mackRseries definitely not gas gas and MV. I’d say ktm will be happy to survive, and probably you are right, husqvarna won’t make it neither. Thanks for watching!!!
They've already bailed on their investments in MV. I don't think gas gas survives. There's no reason for any of the Spanish companies to buy up the brand. Rieju has done a nice job establishing their own brand and reputation. Husqvarna, on the other hand, has a large amount of brand equity. It's possible that a Chinese firm will buy the name or possibly a Swedish consortium. It would be ironic if Shineray would purchase the name and move the brand back to Italy and the swm plant at Varese..... The site of the old Italian Husqvarna plant..
