No only the Viewliner 1 cars in the roommates have a toilet next to the bed and no other toilets in that car, so if you do not want to use that toilet you have to hoe there is a viewliner 2 car attached to it so you can walk through and use that restroom which is shared or have to go to the coach car to use the restroom. What do you think about the toilet next to the bed?
The fastest it went was 85mph - slowest... dead stop for up to 30 minutes. I know we were about 3 hours late coming into New Orleans. Cargo trains have the right away, so the passenger trains have to move to a side rail until they pass.
I can remember the last time I went down to nola it was 2004 they had some really good food in the dinning car it was a real highlight of the trip ,from nc we got served 3 meals each way , now food service is disappointing the sad thing is they waited until they got new dinning cars to screw it up , I think amtrak bought 25 new dinning cars and they only have 4 or 5 single level long distance trains that need diners I don't think the cardinal has been a good train sense the b&o days
From New Orleans to LA - the dinning cart was awesome. Cook to order I assume. Table cloths, silverware, etc... then over to the viewing cart was a great place to settle. The ATL to NO - their excuse was covid. Thanks for watching!
Super fun. I stayed at a Hostel a few blocks from the train station. I thought I did a Hotel Review on it, but I can't find it. I must admit that going to a Hostel in your 40's was a really strange. Everyone is sooo young. It was a cool experience because it was my first hostel.
Uninterrupted, depends how deep of a sleeper you are. No one came and bothered me from NO to LA, but that was a normal dining cart. ATL to NO they brought you the food.
I can't believe how filthy the windows are. In my decades of riding long distance the windows were always clean. What new uncaring people has Amtrak hired. Sad Sad Sad!
Maree, you are 100% right! I even asked for something to clean my window, she basically laughed. I want to do more train videos, honestly I get more views than hotel videos... but it is cheaper for me to fly to Europe than to take a train across country. HINT HINT.. exactly what I am doing in a few weeks! Do not forget to Like & Subscribe!
Wow. A team of engineers, designers, and execs thought it would be a good idea to have people pay to sleep next to a toilet. You're basically staying in a bathroom. No thanks.

How fast do these go? And how long did it take you to get to New Orleans from Atlanta.

@@BlueMooseTraveler wow, I was thinking they didn't even go over 55. Maybe I'm thinking about another one I seen on here.
@@chancedulaney774 I believe there is a section of the video where I show the speed according to the GPS on my phone.
@@chancedulaney774 If you go to part two... 7 minutes in you will see the miles per hour.

Should have taken the train to Jersey!!! :D
So their is no privacy when using the toilet if you share a room?
Zero. However, there are full bathrooms and showers down the hall.
I thnk I want to go. Where did you stay in NO?

What is your favorite flexible dinning meal? How many hours of uninterrupted sleep did you get on this train?

Right! There are big bathrooms down the hall. I thought it was funny to see the little toilet and stuff!
