Police Clear Pro-Palestine Occupation at UPenn, Philadelphia

- Pro-Palestine students and activists at University of Pennsylvania have occupied Fisher Bennett Hall and renamed it Refaat Alareer Hall. Police violently cleared UPenn's Palestine Solidarity Encampment one week ago today.
More than a dozen University of Pennsylvania students were arrested by Philadelphia and UPenn police departments after briefly occupying Fisher Bennett Hall along 34th Street. Police including UPenn's Emergency Response Teams worked to shove crowds of pro-Palestine demonstrators away from the hall, who had renamed Refaat Alareer Hall. UPenn has also been a site of rallies against Ghost Robotics, an incubator spinoff company that has fast become a key world supplier of military robots including for Israel.
Refaat Alareer was a Palestinian professor and activist who was killed by an Israeli airstrike last December.
