I bought one last night tan color. Was looking at the ZT 0452 knife but i own a few 200 dollar knifes where i need to chill with them. Love the D2 steel. Have another knife with D2 and got it very sharp with a polished edge without having to buy into a 150-250.00 sharpening kit. Because the the knife was a lower cost, i knew it would take some of the stress off if i couldn't get the job done to my liking.
I have a black and tan model. Transition is seamless. Flipper tab and lockbar release tab are super comfortable. Smooth action? Aw hell yeah! Sharpened it on my kme last week and had no chipping issues. I get a little paranoid carrying my more expensive knives for edc and the swordfish is in my pocket, don't feel I'm sacrificing anything. I can honestly compare it to my zt 0452cf. Except the swordfish's lock doesn't fail from a simple spine tap the way the 0452 does. Not my first zt with that same lock problem. New sub.
I think I heard about blade chipping when sharpening. But Bestech took care of the problem with replacing the knives. I will look more into this. But for the money their awesome.
VQMAN d2 can be chippy anyways. I bought a kendo that when held in the right light, almost looked like it had decarb on the blade. I don’t know, they might have a couple kinks to work out in their heat treat process

I have not sharpened yet, only stropped once. That will be something to look out for though
