I have a rescue Starling named Tweeters. Tweeters is 1 1/2 years old and has a vocabulary of 80 words. He is sweet, loving and a wonderful pet.

I love starlings. Just wondering if your tweeter ever peck your eyes or bite hard ? I have a rescued robin. Very sweet. He kisses me everyday...gently.

Dreamlzs: Awesome about your Robin!!! Tweeters got me twice through the side of my glasses when he was young. He was trying to get my eye lashes. He loves to kiss. I tell him to "kiss my beak" and he will do it. Sometimes he kisses with a little force, however.

@@tweetersthetalkingstarling5147 I totally get it ! My robin used to try to wake me up in the morning, and he would tap my eye lid. I told him no , never on the eyes, he stopped. He would tap me on my lips and nose and cheeks 😜. Would love to have a baby starling and teach him to talk. Does male or male talk the same ?

Hello Kathy. I've recently rescued two baby starlings and now I'm confused what to do with them. They fly well, eat themselves but are very close to me and people. So I am afraid of releasing them, I am scared that they will not survive. We actually released them in a forest with some ornitlogists. They forced me to do IT. I came back four hours ago and they were still there wiating for me to feed them. I took them back home.
I am very confused. Some people say they should be in the wild and I can't keep them.

@@edytaseredynska7885 if the starling bonded with you do NOT release them! I'm glad you brought them back. I'm raising a starling chick with a broken leg right now, and I cannot even think of releasing him in the wild! They are considered pests in US, and are often killed. Starlings make great pets, and my little baby is already proving that! I have 7 parrots (all rescues), but none of them is as sweet as my little starling. Keep your birds and pets, do google research about how to feed and keep them, and don't listen to anyone telling you to set them free. It would mean a certain death to them.

Freez frame at 25 seconds, you get the famous Irish photo of the starlings coming together in the shape of a giant bird taking. A once in a lifetime photo he got. They make breath taking shapes while flying. ☘️💕

@@tweetersthetalkingstarling5147 I, myself, was so amazed when I discovered the "different personalities" of birds of the same breed, too (as my birds do)! Something else I discovered/realized just the other day, as I began putting together a "playlist" of all the Bible Scriptures that refer to birds (called "BibleStories4Birds"), was that (1) it wasn't JUST "2 birds" that came aboard, but that it was 2 PAIRS (sometimes 7 pairs) , of EACH bird "of every kind", as I'd read through Genesis 7 several times! Now, ESPECIALLY that part (Gen. 7:14) that says "every bird of every sort", & making that point a little clearer in chapter 8, where it mentions he had BOTH doves AND ravens! So, who knows how MANY different birds' breeds they had in the ark! (And, how many of them might have learned to repeat, "Ohh! I'm feeling SEASICK!" (giggle!)) I've got 2 birds (not got Starlings YET, but that's definitely on my future "to do" list!), named Peepacheep, & Sparky! The awesome lessons they teach (& the humor they throw in with it!), are cherishable! I especially love how Job must have had his special love & connection & relationships with animals & birds, & even fish, as he said in Job 12:7 (2 of God's favorite numbers) , "But ask now the beasts, & they shall teach thee; & the fowls of the air, & they shall tell thee: (& then in verse 8) Or speak to the earth, & it shall teach thee: & the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee."! Have a blessed, & "flighty", day! (grin!)

My intent was to most definitely return Tweeters to the wild. After I set his broken left leg and splinted it and immobiled his left wing, it became apparent that he had further deficits. After I healed his head injury, I discovered he could not see very well and could only swallow foods with a pureed texture. It took several weeks to heal him. By then, he had imprinted on me and I fell in love with him, as well. He spends long periods out of his cage, daily. He loves daily sink baths and also has a bath in his cage.

@@tweetersthetalkingstarling5147 Yes, when we have them cages, AND let them fly freely around (the safe parts of) the house, they don't consider their cages as "a jail cell", but as their "house", with the rest of their owners' house as their "neighborhood"! Of my 2 birds, the older one, Peepacheep, gets quite "snarly" whenever she see's me "in HER cage", even though I'm just CLEANING it out FOR her... & will fly over & "supervise" my "every move" in "HER abode", & is then quite happy when I'm finished, & back "out" of it!

OM Goodess! That sounds just like Tweeters😂😂😂 I ask him if he is helping Mama the entire time he supervises. He punishes me for a little while and won't go back in. He sits a distance away and glares and mutters at me❣ I make statements of agreement to him and he will fly to my shoulder. On cage cleaning days it is up to him when he goes back in. LOL

they do the exact same thing in the Midwest of the United States. while it's really cool to watch, it's a real pain in the ass when their favorite trees they like to roost in are right in your yard. you never get to sleep in late because they are SO LOUD, and your car is always completely covered in bird poop, that always made people more mad than anything, the bird poop all over their cars.

freedom of speech USA... the DNR in USA killed many starlings , people kill them in general but they eat a lot of INVASIVE bugs and mosquitos , and clean up yards of bugs for FREE...

That is so awesome that your Starling can go outside and then comes back to you! I wish it was safe for my Tweeters to go out. He was pretty injured when I saved him, plus he doesn't see very well. He is happy and manages inside quite well, though.

@@tweetersthetalkingstarling5147 Well, the government is the biggest enemy of wildlife, birds etc, in their quest to murder off starlings they kill many other wild birds with their POISON French Fries tactic and poison tubes out in the forest and meadows, but I lost my starling to a neighbor's cat who climbed a fence to get to him in my yard, I hate feral and neighbor cats but I am sure the coyotes and hawks will gobble up the cats soon!
