What a wonderful book! I need to make one asap! :) Do you do anything on the pages so they won't stick together... I was thinking if it's acrylic paint they maybe stick together when book is closed?
Vicki Diprose this is so hit and miss - a combination of the right magazine paper and the right type and amount of paint - heavy body seem to work better but it is trial and error - when it works it is so clever!
The blog post is more helpful and indicates that fluid acrylics seem to work best - gelliarts.blogspot.com/2018/03/resist-printing-with-gelli-arts-plates.html?m=1
I tried this now. I used two different magazines but it didn‘t work. I tried it with little color on the plate and with a little more. Same result. Is there a trick to it? 😄
Yes, but use parchment paper so the ink doesn't dry and then put the print on your plate immediately. Let it sit for a bit and tada - you can use colour or just black and white.
Love the image transfer. I have a question. Is there anything you could print a picture on and transfer your own pictures, and if so what type of printer would you use and what type of paper would you need to print onto? I would love to make art journal pages with some of my daughters pictures some how.

Is there any way this could be done successfully with actual photographs instead of magazine prints???? Thank you for this great tutorial!
Check the blog for image transfer. It links the video as well - gelliarts.blogspot.com/2016/05/beautiful-image-transfers-on-gelli.html?m=1
i cannot conquer the magazine resist. what am i doing wrong???
Ohh I love it so many ideas! Thanks. What kind of stencils are you using at 3:15? thanks
Lois R they are my designs for Carabelle Studio 😊 www.artstamp.fr
I tried this now. I used two different magazines but it didn‘t work. I tried it with little color on the plate and with a little more. Same result. Is there a trick to it? 😄
Beautiful little book! ♥️ Can I speed up the drying time with my heat gun? 🤔 😊
It might damage the gel plate-and acrylic paint is quick drying so it shouldn't be necessary
This is so cool! Can you transfer ink jet printed images like this?
Yes, but use parchment paper so the ink doesn't dry and then put the print on your plate immediately. Let it sit for a bit and tada - you can use colour or just black and white.
So instead of printing on copy paper, print on parchment? THanks I will give it a try!
Yep, like baking paper :D Good luck.
W o w ! !
Is there any reason you still have the protected plastic on the Gill plate...???
Sonya H.A. ? There is no protective plastic on it...

I would like to know the name of the stencil and stamp that was used please?
The first one? It's by Carabelle Studio and are the balloon flowers stamp and stencil.
TopazDragon thank you! I found the stencils but not the stamp, need to keep looking!
You are welcome and good luck in your search!
Beautiful project, but I so wish you would talk instead of playing music!
