Badass run! The c5 Z pulls real hard because of it's closer ration gearing 1 through 3. That LS2 did great being a auto and not having a Fast 102 intake manifold. That really opens up the LS2! 25rwhp and 30wtq!
This seems right if the 6 has intake exh and tune. My old TA goes 13.0 and once I ran even on a vette I waited for on the hwy. gave him a lane and from 60-120 we were dead even it was C5 auto and from his worst place bottom of 2nd but great race. He had exhaust but idk tune intake etc. I would rather have C5 Z than base c6 LS2. I would def take the LS 3 over C5 LS6 but still a little rough decision tbh. Can’t wait to go vette. Fbody is aged. My 73 TA and 71 Formula are timeless but when you make 2x the power per cubic inch fuck it.
Good races! I've had a c5z and an ls2 c6 z51 m6 currently. It's a drivers race between these cars honestly. C6 feels like it has longer legs compared to c5z. Both badass.
I remember the old days; I'm a 37 y/o male now; West Boca Raton ('03 Ford Lightning FBO [Full Bolt-Ons]) for the uninitiated folks...🙄🤦♂️🤣 I had my ass spanked so bad by a C5 ZO6 with basic bolt-on modifications that it made me...mod even more! 🤣
Pretty good considering the difference in mods. The C6 had full exhaust, intake and tune over the C5. If the C5 had the same mods as the C6 it would have another 30 hp...
@@da602hustler I’m talking about way down the line. (Collectibility) They built roughy 40,000 Z06 models from 2001-2004. They sold that many base c6 corvettes in the first year alone. 10-15 years from now the C5 zo6 will be worth more than even an ls3 base.
Wrong, all manual corvettes had 3.42 rear ends but what you mean is the Z51 got shorter ratio gears in the transmission which is what makes it accelerate faster than a base. This shorter gearing in the C6 Z51 is also right from the C5 Z06 transmission

Engine for engine they’re nearly the same power wise
405 hp vs 400. pretty much comes down to driver
Torque more displacement is why the auto LS2 could hang
4 or 6 speed auto in the C6?? IIRC, 2005 was a 4 speed, 2006+ is 6 speed.
