I have a dog half staffie & half dalmatian & she is really intelligent, right from a puppy she's learned things very quickly.
I had a Siberian husky growing up Silver Wolf was her name. So loyal, so smart and loving. Love watching Sherpa he brings back beautiful memories ❤

Some are very self aware and recognise themselves or friends in the mirror or on TV, instead of thinking it's a stranger or other dog. And know up to 200 words, which is very close to Coco the gorilla RIP.

Sherpa feels like he has completed the final challenge on human ownership - get your human to pay you with treats to eat the sausages they have also supplied and then get more treats as a reward when you have eaten all the sausages. He’ll now be putting out a ‘How to train your human’ video. 👍🏻

Every morning my husband and our dog, Calvin, a Chow Husky mix, play “take your medicine in treats”, for about an hour. It is cute, because they both seem to enjoy.

My dog and I watch you and Sherpa everyday. When Sherpa gets treats she demands them too. When he fell she got up turned a couple of circles and started whining. They know. She a German Shepherd named Greta and she loves Sherpa so much.

We have EXACTLY this problem with our 16year old fussy old guy. We keep having to swap out what we hide his medications in... he's up to the expensive hand-cut roast beef from the deli... we figure he's working his way up to Wagu Beef or getting his meds crushed up into caviar. I'm glad Sherpa finally took his!!!!

Well done Sherpa. We have to use Peanut butter with our old boy. Everything else he spits out. Even pills wrapped in a piece of bacon. He is on 4 different pills for hip pain, thyroid and periodic fits. Those are scary. He is such a trooper just like Sherpa. Spoiled and dearly loved. And rightly so.

Oh the slip! Didn't phase Sherpa though! Jamie, maybe try giving the sausage with tablets on a plate instead of the paper towel? Just a thought. He may have been fine with it before but seems like he didn't want his tongue to touch the paper towel. Whether that's age or a new sensitivity, he may not like the paper towel anymore. But he did great with the rug! Lol. And when he first came in and Jamie asked if he was okay I thought Sherpa nodded his head yes!!!! Such a sweet boy with his awesome Dad! Hugs & Love 🤗💜
Our fur babies are so intelligent they no they don’t want those pills but mmmmmm those sausages🐾we have to try different foods to hide the medicine…peanut butter, cheese, Vienna sausages and when all else fails a Twinkie bite works 🐾so glad Sherpa will be starting hydro again, watching him slip was hard❤️

Maybe you'll have to switch from the sausages to put his pills in to something else. He might have gotten bored with the same food. He is such a love and he's got Jamie trained very well. ❤

My old greyhound was the same; she had to take pills, and I constantly had to change the camouflage treat. Sometimes, I just had to shove them down her throat. Too smart.
My dogs know when I've slipped a tablet into a piece of hot dog or cheese ,they'll sniff them then lick them then chew and spit the tablet out. Crafty.🤣
When they get to that age - - treats are a must. even to get those tablets in.

The little stinkers understand a Lot more than we think they do. I told mine that I would give her cheese if she ate the joint tabs she had ignored for about 3 hours. But after the promise of cheese she went and ate them immediately. I was shocked. I somehow didnt think she was really listening to me or knew what I was saying. Um yeah....she did

Philly uses 'peek-a-boo' mirrors a lot. In fact, Benjamin Franklin created special mirrors to affix to 2nd and 3rd story windows of old-fashioned colonial homes in Philadelphia in order to see who came to the front door when all at home were upstairs. They could look out of their windows to the bent mirror to see down to the front door! A little piece of Philadelphia history! One way to see Sherpa coming there through the house. 😁

Sharing your life with your best friend- watching them come towards their end of life , but still loving every moment you have together is something many of us have been through.
