Jesus Christ, I do the same thing… and people always think it’s amazing that you get to work with artist, but realistically it’s exhausting and I just finished a 17 hour shift! I was blessed to get 2 meals in! Lmao
Melissa, I recently volunteered to be a runner. Yes, it was fun but exhausting as well. I am truly hooked. What advice what you have for someone that wants to get started. Also do you work with one band and travel with them or work at a music venue in your hometown?
Hey Ashley. It depends on your area as a local runner you don't tour with the bands you stick to a handful of venues. But easiest way to get on is find your local staging company and most of them will not let you just jump into a runner you have to start as a stage hand or know someone in the industry
Dehydration and forgetting to use the bathroom is a global Music Runner's problem!!! XD In all these years working in this position I often have got to remember myself to drink and pee. I really love what I'm doing for a living, but show days can be absolutely crazy and feel like I was in a spinning class.
There are no "classes" for being a runner. Lol Go to local venues and talk to the in house production office. Having a valid driver's license is often required.
I feel every word you said 100%... You forget to mention the "bus stocks" ;-) especially when you get the shoppinglist one or two hours before the shops close and the tour has 6 to 8 tourbuses included a dancersbus with their special healthy vegan wishes! That sucks really. I'm a passionate runner in Switzerland since about 10 years now. I love it, but like you said sometimes it sucks a lot lot lot. Mostly when the production ass. are all over the place! Thanks 4 the video!
I like her she’s funny definitely needs to be in a comedy movie
