Interesting theme, I like the undead twist, beautiful map, but that playtime will all but guarantee that I won't be able to get it to the table. Still, I'll keep my eye on this one.
Oh lord, thisll probably cost $150 at minimum retail assuming nothing suddenly shoots the price of board games. Btw, you know what game doesnt take forever? Battlecon Devastation of Indines
Played tested this game twice last year, when it showed up in a local cafe. The high in this game is pure epicness. 1st game I won by agreeing to gang up on the VP leader by letting zombies run amok, building up hugeee horde, aiming to take the capital. But in winter, i ended up killing them all for VPs 😅 2nd game my mission was to finish second. People were so suspicious at all moves I made. Helping people left and right. They got so suspicious the leader refused free VP from me 😂. But in the end I won because the leader did not pull far away enough. And my bonus for finishing 2nd pushed me ahead by a few VPs 🎉
Interesting game with some unique takes on mechanisms! Happy to see you guys objectively taking on paid reviews. Game needs some grammar review, caught quite a bit of mistakes. Yes, prototype….
Other UA-camrs: this is gonna too long to make and edit Shelfside: Gimme that box Maybe you guys could get extra revenue by editing and writing rules for board games wanting it 😅
4-5 hours i think is normal since i play Rising Sun, Great Wall, Septima and many other game for 4-5 hours. Does anyone play that game faster or according to the box?
Are you implying that because Shelfside is being paid they're going to give the game a better score? Ashton and company are more than fair with their scoring based on their extremely detailed breakdowns of what is good/bad about a game. I think 7/10 is a reasonable score for a board game that does several things well while having notable flaws. Turns out, that happens to be the overwhelming majority of games out there (and this is especially relevant for games that are in an incomplete state).
In fact, if the game didn't have so much jank/downtime, I would have happily given it a personal 8/10! But there are an insane amount of problems that counterbalance the very hype moments (and satisfying area control). -Ashton
2 YEARS for a single match…on the FAST SETTING!?
Absolutely insane.

I loved the bidding system in rising sun. Depth with simplicity. Cry havoc has another very intresting resolution thats diffrent look into that one!
Funny. All the differences to Rising Sun are ways in which RS looks better to me. :-)
The Zombie swarm mechanic + semi co-op sounds brutal & fun! Would love to give this a shot
Wake me up if eric lang comes in and guts this game and makes it fun.
Sounds like he already did and called it Rising Sun. ;)
Wow ancient wuxia style boardgame. I love the theme. Is a must have for collection

Yep, that game is quite short, but I remember not liking it much playing it in HS -Ashton
Rising sun easy 10/10 but you got to like the meta of breaking up alliance and have to know how to play solo if no alliance
Interesting battle mechanic. I love rising sun but very curious about this game
I want this, but does it come with a bigger board?
Probably! The thing we got looks like it was made via a print shop, so it's super prototype lol -Ashton
@Shelfside Ashton. It looks awesome.
Love zombies. Must try this game dor sure since you said its the best.

So this game did right everything Rising Sun was supposed to do.
Don't get me wrong, Rising Sun is still an awesome game, I just personally dont' like it :) -Ashton

Talking about long game... my TI4 game session is about 14hours T.T
A 7/10 for a paid review? Wasn't expecting that . . .

@@Shelfside try to use sand timer 2 minutes if someone is AP. Work on every game that we play with our group.
Did they use AI art?
First one!
The longest how to play ever~~~~ But i really-really want to know when you guys play the "standard"
haha alright, one day! -Ashton
China
Cmon?
Hey just wanted to let you know your house is messy. You should take some time and tidy up. Your background is distracting.
i dont think they even have shelf for their games. they are just stacked everywhere it seems.
ahaha thanks for this. Yes our shelf is super overflowing, also with another room completely full of games! Will have to tidy up more... :) -ashton
