Thank God I didn’t force the assembly out after watching the video. Great video for correct application but I about lost my mind trying to get it to “just slide right out” on our 2012 Q-5. Definitely a lip on bottom of assembly that catches on the bumper. Thank you for the comments from others with same issue,I am disabled and being down in there and all the contortions I was trying wrecked me
Ok... what about the track? The light in an audi q5 12 has a track and a lip under the headlight assembly soooo how did u account for that because although I can get it in your way it won't line up to the track.. any ideas
nice video but have a quick question please do you guys reckon Audi A5 3 doors and 5 doors have the same front end? what I mean by that would the bonnet and bumper from a 3 doors will fit straight into 5 doors? thanks in advance
Hello, I would like ask what is bulb you replacing? Because on my local carparra shop they offering me H1 or H4 and I'm sure xenon projector headlights don't use those... please help
This does not work for me with my 2009 Audi Q5 with the difference headlight housing here in Europe. More stuff unfortunately needs removed in order to accomplish the removal. I'm sad.
Sylvania is the best in our opinion and they are a sponsor of the lighting vertical on CarCareKiosk - here is how to find the bulb that fits: www.sylvania-automotive.com/apps/vlrg-us/Vlrg/?CarCareKiosk&UA-cam

Yeaaa ummm the headlights definitely don't come out like that... 80% correct. There is tubing that connects the headlights to something. Idk what to do with that.
On my 2013 A5 there appeared to be two guides on the bottom of the headlight housing that fit into associated slots in the area into which the housing is attached. Definitely made removing and replacing the headlight housing more difficult, but still possible with a bit of maneuvering. After getting the housing mostly into place, slide it out an inch or so while keep it straight, then while holding down on the housing slide it back in. Mine also had a rubber vacuum tube that had to reattached.
Good video. Thanks. Good to see you don't have to take the bumper off to get the lights out.
The best video...the best, very easy explained.
Thank youuuuuuuu.
Thank you! This helped get to tiny side marker bulb.

I've read that the ballast should be replaced when you replace a bulb. Yes or no?

Very good thank you :)
My 2013 model actually have plastic fasteners instead of torx bolts on the plastic panel. Any clue how to remove those safely?
You can use a trim removal tool to remove these safely
Perfect
Thank you so much for the Tutorial. Where is the best price and online source that I can buy these?

Just to let you guys know this does not work for a 2010 q5 model. There is a lip on the headlight that will stop the headlight from sliding out
I just found this out on my 2009 Audi Q5 here in Italy with the LED styled headlamp housing.
Did you guys figure out a way to replace it? Google sent me to this video hehe
@@BananTwist Not yet. I am going to try again in about a month and then I'll post my method.
@@dacman61 Googled a bit yesterday, apparantly you need to remove the front bumper in order to slide out the headlight...
@@BananTwist Yeah sounds about right.
That clip in the connector gave me problems until I saw this video..
headlight does NOT just come out! There must be another hidden retaining bolt
Yea but where?! It doesn't come out like that at all...
H4 or h7 socket?
H7 - thanks!

Not for a 2013, there is a large lip on the bottom of the headlight that prevents you from sliding it out
