You are so right about the "thrill of the hunt"....its like one big endless scavenger hunt...lol...im so addicted, i have a basement full of stuff which i wait until my husband leaves the house before i unload....thank goodness for minivans and tinted windows...
I love the variety of things that you pick up and flip. Thank you for showing us so many different textures and materials. I would have never thought of flipping a plastic item like that mirror. Because of you, I am a reformed tag painter. I used to paint over them if they were on the back of something. Now I take them off and here's a hack for anyone that doesn't have a scraper handy, the Pampered Chef Mini Serving Spatula is a great alternative! I came up with that today. I looked down at the tags and then your voice came into my head, "Nothing says a thrifted item like painted over tags..." and I had to remove them! hahahah
Hi Ginger Chick! I've been watching your channel for a while and wanted to make LOTS of nice comments so I'm getting on my computer this morning! I love watching your videos! Love all the things you pick and (most of the time) love what you do with them! I do have a possible negative comment tho. I was watching this video and fell ABSOLUTELY in love with that first ornate mirror on the easel! When I saw how LOVELY the patina was I thought "Oh please don't tell me she's going to paint that!" I don't know if it was "real antique patina" or someone had just done a really good job but I thought it was GORGEOUS and to tell you the truth it broke my heart that you spray painted it white! lol I do like all the black and white you do but once in a while it would be nice to see just a little color....something muted....like that mirror! Out of all the videos I've watched, I've always (well almost always lol) liked the after better than the before! It did break my heart that you painted that first mirror! I thought it had a special kind of patina that you don't find that often. Don't get me wrong..it was still beautiful afterwards but in my opinion looked a little more "commercial" that it did before you started with it! I do LOVE what you do tho and watch you all the time!
My favorite is the family sign. All of the pieces came out beautiful. Thank you for showing step by step how to transform each piece! I love watching your channel.
Just when I think I've seen most of the content, I find another episode I have not seen. Yay me! Love everything, and the little birdies on the blocks are adorable.
Great job, love the way you distress things. All beautiful but the black wooden mirror and the metal candle holder with the flowers are my favorite and the single flower. Like you I too love what that wax does to the black items. Wish I lived closer to you I would be in your shop.
Favourite was one of your painted mirrors, the one that was black with the wooden stand (mimi version of a dressing table mirror) then your flowers that you hand finished off. I've a laser cut out family sign that I've had for 5 yrs or more and I was changing my gallery wall by painting all frames black a very slightly distressed,so I spray painted the family sign and up it amongst the photos. Great piece this week as usual but with some not seen peices before.❤
How smart of you to stage in these vignettes. Someone would see these and buy the whole kit and caboodle. I can't pick a favorite. They are all beautiful!!
My favorite would definitely be the lavender in the white bucket! I love what you do to all your items and I’m learning a great deal from you! I’m starting to flip furniture ie. night stands, end tables, dressers and I’m finishing up a table with 4 chairs. Lot of work but it makes me happy to turn trash into treasure!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge of what you do😊. You are so sweet and you have such beautiful hair!!👍👍
Hi Yvonne loved the way each piece came out all of them are my favorites thanks for sharing . Prayers Blessings to and Chris and both of your families Hugs Mildred!
I found a little 3x3 wooden frame with a pig print. The print was glued in, so I had to leave it in place. I followed your steps and I love the way it turned out! Even though I taped off the print, I got some of my Waverly wax on it. Sooo, I waxed the print too. I wiped it off quickly and the results were better than I ever imagined. Thank you for your clear instructions!
Fantastic!! I love those small lavender picks from Walmart, too. I use them everywhere. You can’t beat the prices and the quality is top notch. The black and white flowers are very unique....love them. I always love all your products. ❤️🥰
I commented in one of the Facebook groups the other day but the best way I have found to get a stamped image on a curved or round object is to lay the stamp ink side up on the table then push the item into the stamp and Rocket or Rowlett if you will back and forth to the left and the right basically rolling it across the image to make contacts
I love watching you doing the flips but when you started showing prices, it floored me. In my mind i had priced them way over your prices. What a pleasant surprise to find they are actually affordable.
Wow! I'm blown away (new here). I wasn't sure if i could watch a long video but your voice is so calming--a relaxing video. I really enjoyed watching. I learned so much. What a clever idea using a lazy susan turn table to spray paint and the sticky rollers to hold the bucket to the mat. :). You are very talented--thanks for sharing past experiences and viewers recommendations--that helps a great deal. My fav is the wall stars with greenery, frog, & flower candlesticks. Mirrors and everything else came out wonderful. Beautiful work!!
Oh my goodness... everything is beautiful! I love the bucket and that Flower Candle stick, gorgeous!! And those birdies on blocks, genius idea! I bet they sale quick! That Waverly Chalk paint is nice, I use it a lot too. Hope all is well with y'all. Spring is in the air down here in Georgia and I am looking forward to getting outdoors and getting my gardens going. Blessing! xx
Oh Yvonne, these are all so pretty! My favorite is the big bucket bin you painted like enamel ware with the bee stamp. Hope you guys had a great weekend. 💕
You can also roll up bath towels and place on either side of your round object and that will keep it in place!! Wow never heard of sanding your stamps before, learn something new everyday don't we, thanks for the tip
You do such a Great Yvonne. You give more attention to detail than anybody I know. Modern Farmhouse is not my look, but I have started doing some pieces for the New Booth I am going to have when I decide where. I would probably have to switch a White kitchen if I could shop in your Booth. Ha! Ha! Because you make it so beautiful and I don't know how you keep your prices so Good. You Love what you do and it shows.
I just love everything you do and couldn't pick a favorite, but love learning from you. I now have the largest can EVER of that Durham wood stuff and polycrylic (sp?) is my new best friend. Thanks for all of your sharing!
Just a helpful hint when using spray paint of any type including polycrylic when you're done spraying turn the can upside down and spray to clean the nozzle
Wow! So many beautiful transformations🙌🏻🌟 I love watching you meticulously go through each item and inspect it ...fix it ..then paint it....just gorgeous! I used to have a booth and loved doing what you are doing.....had to stop for health reasons but still putter and have too many items to make over....lol...hoarder with OCD too! I live on a farm and have a lot of areas to store things....so thank you bc you inspire me to get back to it! When we had a big booth 10x17 ....like my own little room if you know what I mean I was paying $525 for rent plus 10%!!....Had to sell a lot of stuff to make a profit....that made me sad. I know the work you are putting into each item and people that don’t do it have no idea....unfortunately sometimes that means little profit margin. I wanted to share a tip with you....my carpenter friend surprised me with a turntable for small furniture....he took the bottom off a swivel rocker that was junk and attached a large round top on some wood legs and I loved having it....so if you come across one....there is a tip! Thank you so much for sharing 😊kim oh hard to pick a favorite but the galvanized bucket was my fav❤️
Oh .. thank you for sharing that. You did pay a lot.. we only pay $175 a month.. for a 8x16 no commission.. so ouch.. yes you would have to sell a lot. Thank you for sharing that tip. I’ll be on the lookout. 🤗💝
I love your style so so much.. I was surprised to see that you didnt paint the birds white and distress them.. but still very beautiful.. It does take a hot minute getting use to diy paint.. I'm still on the fence about it.. thank you for sharing
I love everything as always! I have been on the hunt for birds and cannot find any. I saw a metal star the last time I thrifted and immediately thought of you!
Yvonne.... each one has its own beautiful look !!!! A favorite sometime is hard to pick from your items... I do love that Black Mirror... love your black and antiquing wax look! BUT that / those flowers are gorgeous !! And I adore YOUR white enamel look...I think it’s the black inside that I love ! Then those Birds on the wood blocks ! I love that look! See.... my list goes on ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ And YES to the many paint brushes .. LOL! Where did you get those new crockery stamps ? I like those also! Another great “ Ginger Chick” upcycle video ! Good golly... March 8th and 10 below zero !!!! SPRING 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ Lots of hugs your way! 🌼🌼💛💛🌼🌼
Oh.. Jayne.. your our such the kindest person. Your family is blessed to have you. The stamps came from scrapbooking.com. Oh they have so many beautiful things.. be careful.. I couldn’t weed out my cart.. so had to buy it all.. Oops 🤗
I love ALL of them. Every time I watch one of your videos I want to go rent a garage and start doing it myself. I mean seriously. I dont think I can wait until August to buy a home. But for now, like I've said before, I'll just stick to small things.😁
I love all of this! But I think I love the fact that you were watching "Outlander" while you were working!! Lol I have to wait for my kids to go to bed for me to be able to watch that while I work.
Lol.. I saw that I got the tv in my video and wondered if anyone would notice 😉my kids are 20 and 21. I still wouldn’t want to watch it with them. Oh my..
You are so right about the "thrill of the hunt"....its like one big endless scavenger hunt...lol...im so addicted, i have a basement full of stuff which i wait until my husband leaves the house before i unload....thank goodness for minivans and tinted windows...
Lol.. love that. Yes the addiction is real.. you never know what you’ll find😉
All are beautiful, I like the flower stand best.
Thank you
I love the flower with the white edging...so pretty!
