I remember when I watched this live on TV and I was in tears. Meno and Sand have always been one of my favorite American pairs teams. I was so happy to see them succeed in the sport. I wish that the were a little more consistent with their pair triple jumps, but other than that they had it all and could compete with the best in the world.

I think people have a hard time understanding that you can be the greatest at the national level, which is an incredible accomplishment, and never win an international competition. Still, these two got so close to greatness that I wish someone could have figured out exactly what they needed to do for that one last hurrah. It was probably possible.
