Didn't know about the Herbcrafter's Tarot. I have the Herbal Tarot. Thanks for the walk through.

Love that you picked this up and getting to see your reactions and I sooo feel your pain on landscapers interrupting videos lol it happens all the time :D I also agree that I think US Games has really nailed the producing of mass market decks. I’ve always liked their cardstock and now their packaging feels on par. I agree with you that the thought that was put into the associations and layers, the more I sit with it the more I am impressed and excited!

The environmetal question is gigantic for me. I am chemically injured. All decks I encounter trigger painful checmical symptoms until they out gas. Some decks are a a loss for me and gain for someone else because they never out gas. Landscaping equipment fumes make me very symptomatic. The air, earth, ground water, our ears and nevrous systems are all harmed by landscaping equipment, fumes and sprays. Your review makes it clear to me that this deck both brings me a familiar experience as well as new learning and expansion. Your review of this deck resonates with me more than any other review of this deck I found so far. You did a fantastic review despite the landscaping challenge. Thank you!!!

Thank you for your kid words. I'm sorry about the struggle with those fumes. It's really sad how much is impregnated with toxicity. Sigh.

It's a nice looking deck but I wonder if it is environmentally viable? I suppose I should read through the guidebook to see if nature conservancy, reforestation etc. is mentioned. I wondered what it would have cost to insert a 79th card that is plantable. Just a meandering thought.

Since it's printed in China, perhaps a 79th card couldn't be done as there are plant and vegetation regulations in place. It just seems that something more could have been done with the innards of the box since the deck focuses on "partnership between humans and the botanical world." I do appreciate the craft activities, though.

That's a great point ... I remember seeing on the artist's website that the Gaian tarot has an indie edition that is printed sustainably...but I imagine that the mass market of that (and this) isn't... this is one of the great questions of consumerism. Are we hurting the world we're attempting to honor by buying books and decks? Crystals, too... It's so deep and complex. There's nearly nothing we do that isn't fraught.

I am so looking forward to this deck as I adore Joanne PC's artwork! Love how they allocated the herbs by number - very clever! Here in the UK we have a few weeks to wait yet.....sigh. Thanks for another great walkthrough even though you didn't shuffle enough lol! I find your rifle shuffle puts me in a relaxed trance...plus as we have similar hands (not quite 'hand twins' Joey Tribbiani style 😉🤣) which let's me judge the size and how easy it will be for me to handle!

Oh wow, I love this deck!! Kelly Bear mentioned it in her live about herbalism books, so I came in search of it. It's top of my wish list, the next deck I purchase for sure! Can't wait for the UK release!!
Thanks for the great walkthrough 🙏💗

I get to watch 3 Tom Benjamin videos in one day! You are spoiling us. ;)
I agree with you that US Games are the best mass market deck producers out there at the moment (despite those wee copyright markings). I've always liked their cardstock but now that they are also making those sturdy boxes and more compact books I love them even more.
I can't wait for this deck to make it's way to the UK.

They really need to get their international stuff out more quickly! It's like torture!

Oh, I am in love!!!!!! Cannot wait to dive in!! 💚💚💚 I wonder what it would be like to use this deck with the Gaian?
    Instead of grass plant herbs!!!!

Herbcrafter's feels like a Taurus-y deck to me. So natch I need it... I freaking HATE the sound of lawn maintenance (mowers, blowers, etc). Vacuums, too, but they're a necessary evil I suppose. :(

    • @thefoolsjournal
      @thefoolsjournal  5 років тому +2

They are. Sigh. They always seem to come around when I'm recording.... Of course I rarely vacuum, so I don't have to worry about that... 🤣

Yessss another person who hates grass. I wish more people would start caring about the damage that grass lawns do to the environment. 💚

Holly Taylor . . . agree, better to let lawn grass naturally turn into prairie by beneficial neglect 😉

RIGHT? Oh my God. Sometimes I go for a walk and I see these signs that grass has been treated and I want to just set a fire. YOU'RE POURING CHEMICALS INTO THE GROUND FOR GRASS?? I MEAN COME ON!
