His most incompetent and air-headed moments were all while he was with Miranda. Steve becomes less grounded and less intelligent with Miranda bc she controls EVERYTHING and makes him feel inferior, which then causes him to lose confidence in himself and regress into an immature man-child. That’s just my opinion though. I’m sure most people probably don’t see it that way, but it’s something I have always noticed.

She always looked down at Steve for being a bar tender & she treated him like shit during all their relationship. Although they are characters that meant to have their human flaws, Steve deserved someone who appreciated him genuinely.
Actually, it was pointed out by Real Housewives Reacts...the way Carrie dresses is the way the fashion designer for the show dresses. Frumpy, shapeless and bland.
They are clearly missing Patricia Field sense of style. She was the stylist & responsible for most of the iconic outfits in the series. Huge huge mistake!

Carrie at that point in her life needed drama, the chase, the push/pull. Aiden didn't have that. Now that she's trying to be drama free, she's calmer for Aiden.
Carrie does not deserve happiness with Aiden. Even now she is far too selfish to be with that man and if she's with him like that again she's just going to hurt him leave that man alone.
I love that one early episode where charlotte says that Miranda and Steve aren’t in the same class, or caste, and all the girls defend Steve by saying not so rich girls always date wealthy men, so it shouldn’t matter, and how just because he didn’t have money at the time didn’t mean he didn’t have a chance to make money and be successful 👏🏻
Steve deserves a beautiful, caring, and supportive partner. He deserves someone who is easy going and just rolls with the punches. He’s by far the best man in the entire SATC universe, followed closely by Harry.
