Comparing my Ottolink 7 Mouthpiece and a Theo Wanne Mouthpiece!

You sounded great on both. The Otto Link sounded fatter and more complex, and the Gaia sounded brighter and more defined. It’s a matter of preference there. However, playability is also a huge factor. From my perspective, you sounded more comfortable on the Gaia. This is likely because of its ease of play, which came out in your playing (more bold, complex, confident lines on the Gaia). So, that’s also a major factor in piece selection.
Only difference I hear is that the Theo piece is a tiny bit brighter. Great sound on both!

agreed. I prefer the link but if I was playing in a loud situation without a mic the Theo Wanne would be better

The Theo Wanne Gaia is slightly brighter but with more precision, and projection...!!

Theo is definitely brighter and bigger, in my opinion. But sounds awesome regardless.

You sound great on both! TW sounds more open/bigger.
They both sound great, the Otto to my ears has a very Smokie buttery sound, the Theo has that crispier edge. Pick the song then pick the piece. I own the Theo Wanne Durga for Alto, I have an Otto Link 7* NY STM for my Tenor Love them both, Both Horns are Yannies.
Otto Link sounds more focused and it have more personality for me!!!!
I've played the Theo pieces. You can hear your sound get a lot bigger(granted you sound great on the link too). Theo's pieces are just so free blowing it's hard to compare. They are honestly a cut above everything I've ever played but you pay a premium price for them that's for sure
Both sound great. I guess it would depend for me how responsive they play or if you need the extra punch of the TW as I doubt most audience members would care.
BTW, Theo Wanne also sells an HR Slant Sig MPC that is half the price of their normal pieces (it is $300 - 350 new). It is a super nice all around great sounding MPC. I have the size 8 tenor HR Slant Sig 2 and love it.
Both sounded great. I would give the edge to the Theo Wanne.
Theo’s got a brighter and slightly more colorful tone. It’s really up to the player who chooses their mouthpiece for everyone is unique
I think the TW gives you a broader spectrum, you can do more with it

Jeremy McCant l actually have the otto link that he is playing on and it sounds awesome. I heard Theo wanne Himself saying that his mouthpieces are a takeoff from otto link mouthpieces.

You played the Theo Wanne more in the clip. You make both sing. The Gaia is brighter, more highs.

Theo seems to be brighter and louder by a little bit, but for the price of both you could by two to three Otto links for one Theo. Great sound on both!
Correction: You can buy two Theo Wanne's for one Otto Link its quite the opposite. He's not playing the cheap imitation links sold today its a vintage Otto Link which goes for $1300 or more!

If that Link were thick, rich velvet, the Wanne piece would be cool silk. That's the very small difference my ears heard
The Gaia sounds a little punchier with a stronger tonal core. Could you just give the specifics of your setup?

The Gaia is more powerful. Link has more overtones in the sound Ksaxman.

Otto Link - crisp, clean, smooth throughout the full range, a pro tool for a pro musician.
Theo Wanne - dirty, annoyingly bright like a tinny Yamaha aluminum tweeter, chokes up on upper octaves and falls flat on the bottom end.
Sounds like a perfect piece for a typical corporate gig with drunk execs that are high on coke while holding out $100 bills and yelling "Bro! Bro! Do the Lethal Weapon tune!"
