That third deck actually looks bonkers, and I think you're spot on about the power of Uzuri's ability in a contract list Vs. Arakni's ability. I really hope that Uzuri can stand up against the meta at least in some capacity.
This is a really interesting video, and is very informative on building Uzuri! I found myself doing the first list and having it feel kinda not great (tho for blitz, instead of CC), because if you're not using Isolate, so many decks can safely block 6 and come back with a two card hand. Regarding Arakni's ability, I think the ability is less about making the contract more likely to hit, and instead is just Fateseal. It's about controlling what your opponent draws, denying them their huge power plays by tucking them, disrupting their turns, etc. Of course, it is far weaker than in other games because you draw ~4 per turn, instead of just 1, which is what made Fateseal broken. You can't completely shut down an opponent lantern control style, but it instead just serves as a bit of disruption. If Dromai has just put a big dragon from bin into arsenal via you playing Codex, you can choose to tuck that blue to the bottom if you can't guarantee a hit. Tuck Uzuri's huge payoffs if they're running the first build, etc etc.
glad it was helpful! i started with the first list and drifted towards the contract one, i think as people learn the attack pattern its easier to block out the first one. I definitely think arakni has a strong ability, but i also think uzuris ability is useful enough in a contract list you can run something similar even without the fateseal effect. araknis ability seems built for contract (even if its the act of moving a card to the bottom thats more powerful), so i think most people would assume uzuri cant work with the contracts
so watching this.... first of all the hair... I'll leave it at that Next this is pretty much the exact same pattern that I went down and ended up at the exact same conclusion with an incredibly similar deck so I completely 100% agree with what was said in this video and am loving the Arakni Cosplay name lol. I think you just run it like Arakni but she just does it better at least it feels that way
I think the first and third are the two most real decks. I feel like if you want to play her you want to get a good grasp of both play styles as both are may be better depending on metagame. For example I feel like the surprise is a cnc deck is better if you know the metagame is low block aggressive heroes where you're cnc equivalents just skip their turns. I think the contract deck will be better now as it has more inevitability
the daggers are pretty bad rate (using almost a whole blue to deal 1 damage), and its often better to be blocking with them for 3. theyre useful for when you want to push a disruptive card (like dagger - tunic - cnc) or in combination with codex of frailty (dagger - codex - play death touch with the floating resource, or cnc if tunic is up)
I did try pummel but ended up cutting it, it has a bad defense value and makes some hands without a 2 cost unplayable. dominate + shred is often enough to push a good on hit
Very hard to recur, so tunic gets you more value throughout the game. Also can be used for any cost (incredibly relevant for codex - death touch turns)
What if we were to play cash in and Crown of dominion in the third list? For no other reason that I opened it along whisperers and I've been trying to make them work in arakni since 😅
I kn ow it hasn't been that long, but how have these decks been feeling? I really like the contract list, but you said you needed to test it a bit more.
I like double Spiders Bites with flick Knives to close games vs no block aggro. Swing bite 1, bite 2 (flick bite 1) and now all cards can go through. If they're on 9-10 they're dead

Immediately shared this video to my testing group. Love your contract list, great job
thank you!

thank you! the list has been going well in testing, but the oldhim/dromai matchup is pretty difficult :/

Interesting how few blues you end up running. Are you just not counting on using your daggers?

Have you tried pummels in the frist list? trying play play all the cards that attack the hand
I did try pummel but ended up cutting it, it has a bad defense value and makes some hands without a 2 cost unplayable. dominate + shred is often enough to push a good on hit
I noticed the list is only on tunic, is there an explanation for why none of them are on redback shroud?
Very hard to recur, so tunic gets you more value throughout the game. Also can be used for any cost (incredibly relevant for codex - death touch turns)

Also thoughts on other powerful 2s? Erase face, nourishing emptiness seem like they could be options
Haven’t tried it myself, but sounds fun! Might want more go again cards to make use of the extra things you draw

i plan on making a followup video soon!
