- The pilot of Lois & Clark, where Lois Lane and the Daily Planet meet Superman.
Everything in this scene, from the unforgettable dialogue and the magnificent special effects are perfect and sets up the atmosphere for the series. Cat Grant's line defines the whole show. Perry's reaction is hysterical and Jimmy's ending line always bring a tear to my eye for some reason. Dean and Teri are absolutely iconic and I just can't understand how any fan of Superman couldn't love their performances throughout the whole show.
This is definitely my favourite Superman-on-TV scene, ever and probably my second favourite Superman scene ever (after the helicopter rescue in the first movie). Smallville can suck a lemon.

You can tell a lot of money went into that Pilot! All the special fx really looked great for early 90s television. If they carried on with that and got better and more comic accurate villains, I reckon it would have had the same run as Smallville.
I know you commented 3 yes ago but this show was brought on for a fifth season but Teri Hatcher got pregnant. She didn't want to continue show while pregnant. So she was the deciding factor on the show going off air.

This is one reason why I believe Teri Hatcher was the best Lois Lane ever on TV.
I don't know about that Roberto. Erica Durance arguably surpassed her on Smallville. In my opinion Durance's Lois was hotter and could kick butt.

It's also his family's crest - It acknowledges his lineage, which is a very neat idea. "Son of the family of El."
This was the best suit in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman series.
Always loved this first costume of his.
I agree with Jimmy here - he came in, didn't give much, but just about enough, and left, leaving 'em wanting more.

Too bad they didn't use more villians from the comics in the series. I say the same thing with Smallville. Glad that in both series, Lois figures out who clark is.
Terri was good at playing a sexy, funny and competitive Lois Lane, her flaws are being gullible, naive and too sensitive. I mean before accepting Lex's proposal did she know that he and Superman are enemies? And while she claimed to be madly in love with Superman she was still dating and flirting with Lex. I also hated how the show completely erased Cat Grant.
She, and most of Metropolis, had no idea about Lex's villainy. That's what made him a great villain. He was a literal wolf in sheep's clothing. When a rich, successful, famous man fancies you, it's pretty tough to say no. However, she ultimately realized her feelings for Clark while she was walking down the aisle and said "I can't" just before the authorities attempted to arrest Lex.
Rafael Norville I remember her changing her mind at the moment on her wedding. But it still drove me crazy how she fell for his wealth and all.
She's irrational at times. First she's angry at Clark Kent for having secrets, "Lying" then she's angry at him when he reveals his duel identity, when she is supposed to be madly in love with Superman - and Superman has professed his love in the form Of Clark Kent and he has admitted he really can't trust nor believe in her love... I think that is why Clark Kent backs down for a time.
I missed Cat Grant, too, she was great comic relief and they could have toned down her sexual advances on Clark without erasing her, entirely. We fans never quite understand why some decisions are made in TV shows. I think she should have suspected something at the very beginning when Lex introduces his space station at the same time there are multiple events.
@ffrank345 He's flying smoothly and slowly so he doesn't create a vacuum that will blow papers and stuff around the Daily Planet offices (they even explain this in later episodes).
This scene is excellent and possibly my favourite of the whole series. An entrance worthy of a king.

@gothamite27 On top of that it's very hard to move with wires. In the beginning when he flies in with Lois, if you look at how he is moving, you can kinda tell the wires are sorta shifting on him.

when they fly in the window in the medium shot, theres a brown frame above the window. In the Wide shot theres no brown above that window. I know the actors are on wires.... but they hide them well, how to get them through the window frame?
Because don't use CGI. Is real fly cable steel.

this is the only dope superman suit.. after this episode the "s" symbol keep changing and getting worse design..
If I remember correctly they only changed the suit twice. They never used the pilot "S" again. They did try a suit with a deeper cut chest area, the cape attached externally and the large "S" that stuck around. It looked really bad and was swiftly changed the very next episode to the suit that stayed permanently. Same fit as the pilot but a larger "S" symbol.
I think that is actually enchanting for a very ironic reason. I actually sew. The first one was made on Krypton and came on his blankets, so 'machine made' no doubt,🙂 the others were made by his mother. I've never even tried to master that kind of sewing. (Applique) I know how it is done though. Even today, a sewing machine to do that kind of work easily (it qualifies as embroidery) is very expensive, a farmer's wife could hardly afford one... I think the imperfect applique emblems are charming. His mother kept experimenting? Someone, a professional seamstress, no doubt, must have worked really hard to make suits look so homemade?
I swear, one of the writers must have thought all this out, really do!

Dean Cain worst superman ever. Cheap looking costumes an boots that got worse as the seasons went along. Next to Reeve at the time they had the 2nd best Gerard Christopher but let him go. Plus he had the best costume at the time even better than Chris Reeve.
