CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Superman (Christopher Reeve) takes his beloved Lois (Margot Kidder) on a romantic flight and then kisses her.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Superman (Christopher Reeve) tries to save the world from nuclear destruction at the hands of Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) in this action film featuring the man of steel. In a speech to the United Nations, Superman declares he will rid the world of all nuclear weapons. Arch-villain Luthor emerges from prison obsessed with killing Superman and creates an adversary known as Nuclear Man (Mark Pillow). The two engage in a fight to the finish in various landmarks on Earth before taking their battle into outer space. When Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) invites both Superman and Clark Kent to a double-date dinner, Superman's powers are tested so that both men can be present. Jackie Cooper plays the gruff veteran newspaper editor Perry White, with Marc McClure as Jimmy Olsen. Sam Wanamaker plays tabloid tycoon David Warfield, the millionaire who buys the Daily Planet. Mariel Hemmingway is Warfield's daughter Lacy, Clark Kent's date at Lois' luxury apartment. This is the least interesting of the four Superman movies starring Christopher Reeve.

Even though part 4 was bad, this alone is great. Their chemistry is off the charts. Love it

I hope the original 134 minutes version is released and has better editing and upgraded visual effects. I feel like superman 4 would be a decent movie only if the editing is better. Plus any footage of Cristopher Reeve’s superman is a massive win.
@@jacobperales2415 I heard the master tapes for Superman 4 were destroyed after the film bombed so badly at the box office, so that's not gonna happen, unfortunately.
@@joaniekeyser4036 you mean the original 35mm negatives?
RIP Margot Kidder and Christopher Reeve. God Bless.
Amen
Magical time they showed us
So thats who eminem was talking about
Both of them were great! May they rest in peace and in heaven. 🙏🙏🙏
Despite the crappy effects, I actually like this scene for what it means to the characters of Lois and Superman.
how dare you
It was revolutionary from it's time.

@@paulinolim5226 For 1978, yes, for 1987 definitely were very poor.

Except for the fact that the original film from 10 years previous looked 10x better than this and still holds up.
Superman IV is the exact same kind of film as Jaws: The Revenge, both the dying breaths of a series after the 3rd entry derailed the franchise somewhat. It’s a shame really, I do like this scene regardless, but it’s also one of the only scenes I like…
Christopher Reeve brought such wonderful humanity to Superman. That is why he will forever be my favorite Superman and my Superman in general
I love the way she says "superman", they still have so much love between them despite putting off being together. Yeah the whole scene doesn't make sense. But it still has heart and emotion.
Continunity errors aside, I've always found this to be the most poignant between Lois and Clark. She remembered everything ❤️
Something about the way she looked at him at 0:39 ❤….all Lois’ fears went away and all her memories returned. That was all conveyed in a single look…now that’s fantastic acting from Margot Kidder!! RIP beautiful woman.
Damn it man now she is gone, She was the best Lois Lane Actress ever she will be missed forever R.I.P Margot Kidder 😞😢 1948-2018 !!! Thanks to my Mom age 59 who was a huge fan, I enjoyed all the 4 Superman movies 🎥 I’m a young 36 !!!!!
I enjoyed up to Superman 3. The last one superman 4 is badly produced and an insult to the great man himself
I miss her so much may Rip

@@redfullpack and the "ending nuclear war" storyline, which was Chris Reeve's idea. But even he would later admit it was a mistake in his memoir Still Me.
By far the best part of the movie. It’s the only part where they remembered the heart of the story.
This scene made very little sense. They are late for a banquet, but he has time to fly her from the East Coast to the West Coast
Nevermind the fact that Superman acts like a Superdick in scene.
Um he's Superman. What else do you need to know?
@Graeme McFee exactly. I know this is all fiction, but my biggest complaint with these movies are the plot holes.
He can just circle the earth a few times to make time go backwards
Dude he's faster than a speeding bullet and can reverse time by flying fast around the planet. What's so hard to believe about this scene? It's science fiction man. Use your imagination.
I liked Lois facial expressions in this scene. She knew how to be confused, confident, and caring within this clip. She would have thrive in romantic comedies. I could have seem her playing in as Goldie Hawe best friend in some movies. She would have been a great choice in Overboard, which is one of my favorite comedies. God Bless.
Superman's Hidden power = ability to erase women's memories by kissing them. Also seen at Superman II
redfullpack and that’s his way of cheering himself up? Lol
I hated Superman ll, Superman IV is my favorite.
He has a few of those, I hear. This, unfortunately, is one of his not-so-well-liked ones because if you think about it it's kind of skeevy to screw with anyone's memories in any way. It's sort of like a violation of the mind.
86
I still love this movie. Even if he made lois forget. He still wants her to know how much he loves her
They shouldn't have cut so many scenes. I hope a director's cut comes out someday

SuperMan was humble.
This is Quite Probably, The Best Scene in Superman 4
Lois Lane and Superman, Flying Together
I can't believe they're gone now. They will ALWAYS be Lois and Clark (Superman). No one can ever match them.
Twin towers gone, Chris Reeve gone, Margot Kidder gone. Geez.
Embarcadero freeway gone
Exactly
@Rumpled Foreskin What are you talking about?
Jackie Cooper(Perry White) is gone too.
Since when can Lois fly?
Even though S4 was overall a bad movie, this scene was perfect and a huge bright spot. Worth seeing the film for this Lois and Clark moment. Love them and their chemistry. :)
My least favorite of the franchise,, but still a guilty pleasure. Love the on screen dynamic between these two. Hopefully they’ll get to see each other in another life. R..I.P to both
Twin Tower (WTC) 0:46
Train garden mountains 0:52
Golden Gate bridge 1:12
Snow mountains 1:27

I don’t care what the critics say, I like this movie!
I guess when the movie came out in theaters, you were the only one there? This movie, made by Cannon, is God awful.
I didn't know Superman had the power to erase women's memories by kissing them lol. That's not suspicious at all. You don't hear Jor-El say its forbidden
He had that power in the Silver Age comics.
Nothing super about that, I use that technique all the time. You just gotta have the lips for it, Baby! 🤭
Yes, apparently that's one of his lesser known abilities. And I hear it's one of the not-so-well-liked ones because it's kind of skeevy to screw with a person's memories in any way, which is probably why we haven't seen Kal use it since this movie.
@@joaniekeyser4036 screw being the right word here haha
Making a woman forget everything with just one kiss? Now that’s a power that most men wish they could have. Especially men who aren’t faithful to their wives. Haha.

Clark: Ride Ain't Over Yet
Lois: My Man
"Things aren't that bad" is a funny line. 😂
Goodbye Margot! Thanks for the memories.

The reveal is great he flys up vertically with the glasses on and then her Superman 2 memory reappears...very underrated scene but I'm also very sad at the same time because they are both no longer with us
Su recuerdo en Superman 2?
Su recuerdo en Superman 2?
It's pretty embarrassing that this scene is basically a carbon copy of the flying scene from the original film.
@ YTWarrier100. I agree that the producers of "Superman IV" made a colossal mistake in trying to duplicate the magic of the first Reeve/Kidder flying sequence from the original Reeve/Kidder Superman film. They never should have made "Superman III" and "Superman IV". Both of those films basically stunk. Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder should have refused to do the last 2 films in the series. Jackie Gleason, Burt Reynolds and Jerry Reed should have refused to make any sequels to the original "Smokey and the Bandit" film. Even Clint Eastwood said that he never should have made the last 2 Dirty Harry films.
I thought they just greenscreened over that scene
86
And they say movies like Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park have ground breaking effects that still hold up today. They are wrong my friends, for they no nothing of the glorious effects of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.
Wtf are you talking about? T2 and Jurassic Park DID have ground breaking effects that still hold up. Nobody was wrong about it. Superman IV's effects were pure shit. The first Superman movie (1978) had better effects. Your comment has to be sarcasm.
Yes I was being sarcastic.
Kevin :() you got owned there!
@Agent Prime I sincerely hope your comment is sarcasm. Of the 4 Superman movies with Christopher Reeve, the first movie had the best effects...and they didn't even use computers for them.
I love the sarcasm. Yes Superman IV is the perfect example on why in films, less is often more.
So sad watching these two fly after they are dead in real life
I know 😢
Mike D yes you are right 😢😢😭😭
@Scuddy2.0 Scuddy2.0 They did pass away in real life. Look it up on IMDB. I’m not a dumbass about that shut up!

I loved when Los looked at Clark in a confusing way when he asked for fresh air. She was wondering where was he going with this. She probably thought Clark wanted to make up or something. She always likes Clark as a friend and nothing more. I loved them flying scene because it reminded me of them magical scene from Superman 1. God Bless.
Se parece un montón a la escena de Superman 1
i always wanted her to learn that she loved Clark. there were always subtle hints, like her jealousy and possessiveness when other women liked Clark, and she always had such respect and admiration for him as a person. i would have loved for them to take it there.
Superman Loves Lois Lane and Takes Her Flying Again
I Love All of The Flying Sequences With Lois and Superman
Why is nobody talking about how she jumped with him...
That’s probably because she held onto his hand before he jumped
Pretty sure he pulled her down.
She didn’t. He pulled her down while she was trying to stop him.
Plot twist, she had a heart attack on the way down. Superman attended her funeral in the next scene.
86
She never stopped being beautiful to me...forever my Lois. ❤
her makeup was kinda weird from Superman 3 and on.
Great Flying Sequences with Lois and Superman
Something about that theme with Superman and Lois is more beautiful
RIP Margot Kidder
This movie was my childhood time golden memories
I always imagined that the original super kiss wore off and that she played the part for him here. God, their chemistry was dynamite. Superman 3 never should have broken them up. That's what screwed the original franchise.
To be fair, they break up in Superman II not III. III is crap but it’s not the movie responsible for ending their relationship.
@@jaquen1977 i find it very dumb
Why do they can not be together if he wont give up his powers?
@@SimsMoyal That was the price Kal had to pay if he wanted to be with her, per Lara in the Lester cut. The Donner cut had Jor-El telling Kal this, tho. I didn't care for Jor-El being borderline harsh on Kal when he spoke of wanting to be with Lois, if I'm being honest. I believe the word "selfish" was used, which I thought was such horseshit. It's not selfish of Kal to want to be with the woman he'd come to love deeply; he deserved to be happy too, and Lois made him happy.
@@joaniekeyser4036 I understand that - i am talking about the plot itself which didn’t make sense
Glad they dropped it in Lois and Clark

He let her go on purpose she’s freaking out he’s having a blast 🤣
and she's actually flying too, somehow.
@@cameronbaker97 I assumed she's gliding downward, but they just didn't have the budget to show it... at all.
Margot Kidder was Afraid of The Flying Scenes
And because it's revealed that she remembered everything that happened in Superman 2, when he let her go on purpose she was probably mentally screaming "Kal-El, you little stinker!" or more likely "Clark, you little stinker!", lol.

One of The Greatest Movie Scenes ever Filmed
The effects get criticised a lot, but as part of the story, I really appreciate how Lois is more of a best friend to Superman than the love interest. Lacy fills that role for this film and actually falls for Clark, which was nice. In the deleted scenes Lacy's character becomes nicer thanks to Clark's kindly influence and becomes a vital component in the story later on.
But it was really nice to have a different dynamic for Superman to have Lois for care and support when he is struggling. I think a lot of people can relate to this. I've certainly learned to value true friendships and help when times are tough.
I enjoy the scenes between Christopher and Margot in this film quite a lot. I always enjoy this film far more than the negativity it gets. ❤️
Terrible effects but best clark kent and lois lane ive seen
I know the effects are bad but I always just smile and love this scene
But good soundtrack
Good music tho
It's so bad but i still love Reeve and Kidder...
I believe that Jor-El, & Lara would be grateful to Lois Lane for being such a great ally to Kal-El.
This is Without any Doubt, One of The Greatest Lois and Clark Moments-Ever Made to Happen
Yes
It's amazing how whenever Lois falls feet first her skirts defy gravity, in reality I'm sure she would be doing a great Marilyn Monroe with great effect, at that speed her dress would be over her head. mind you Margot Kidder and Christopher Reeve are the very best Superman and Lois Lane. I had such a crush on Margot in the 80's.
0:26, This is still gold these two together. The best Superman and Lois. Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder.
She looks beautiful
That was funny how he let go of Lois making her fall a little from 1:32-1:37 especially on the first film when they were flying together in the sky, he accidentally let go of her where she was falling down from the sky fast and he had to quickly go save her. But here she is not falling down fast and he finds it funny that he let go of her.
I still love the chemistry between these two and the best part out of this movie. So sad that it wasn’t shown how it was suppose to be and cut so much out. Plus I didn’t like how they made Lois appear desperate towards Superman in this movie, which I found annoying all the way through . I know she loves him but her character in the previous movies she was she’s in love with him but still remained strong in herself and her identity. I know I’m not making any sense but that what I’m feeling from Lois in this film.
Don’t care what anyone says, Christopher reeves was the best superman ever !!!!!!
0:50 she has incredible grip strength
Not a bad movie at all. Vastly underated.
Wait if Lois remembers everything then why did she let him kiss her and also does superman just screw around with Lois memories knowing how she feels about him like how many times has he probably done this to her before
August 2024. It never gets old❤
Terrible FX, but-- there's something very poignant about this scene. Clark allows Lois to regain the memories he took in Superman II just so he can be honest with her -- both knowing she'll have to lose them again.
No, the effects aren't worse than in Superman I. But in the first movie, everything happened at night and it was easier to hide the mistakes.

Qué recuerdos?
Margot’s spirit is flying by herself now at 1:35. This scene is so enjoyable to watch nowadays and not so corny as it use to be when they were still alive since they both passed away. It’s like they are flying like angels. RIP
They are flying together in heaven now !
They only and great Superman ,bless god
Clark, Walks Lois, To The Edge of the Building, Before reminding Her, That He is Superman
"Bye bye HAHAHA!"
-Superman
Shout to the Twin Towers as we approach the 15th anniversary of the attack on ground zero. Superman and Lois went by the twin towers. God Bless.
Why is her arms stretch out like she's the one flying? Lol
better question is: why is she even flying at all! (when Superman lets go of her I mean) she should of started falling instead.
Lol 🤣😂
1:31 see, she actually starts flying instead of falling to her death.
@@cameronbaker97 It's explained that he gives her a push forward, in the deleted scenes on the DVD, you see extended version... he essentially throws her forward.
@@APRICEPRODUCTION Deleted Scenes aren't Canon.
I can't over the cgi and effects in this movie
I love super man movies since childhood. Christopher Reece is the best
Always liked the New York City backgrounds in the movies. It's a good City when run right.
The only part of this car crash of a movie I love. Even though the effect is not up to scratch
01:28 Superman's sadist streak
Her hair was immaculate when she landed!
Them two are flying in another place and they will be remember when they did superman together for 4 sequels first came christopher reeves later came margot kidder R.I.P for their best performance and superman saving Lois Lane at all times in certain sequels
Let's analyze this scene here. I'm not nitpicking, but this is what you need to know:
-They ripped off the first flying scene from the original movie.
-They also ripped off the magic memory erasing kiss from the end of the second movie.
-Worst greenscreen effect I have ever seen in my entire life.
-The background looks like we got transported into the Flintstones.
I'll never understand why people hate this movie so much. Its such a fun adventurous movie. I get that there was no new material in this movie. Meaning there is nothing in this movie we didn't see in the first 3 Superman movies but it's still a fun adventurous movie with phenomenal performers. I'm so happy it exists. I love it! R.I.P. Christopher Reeve and Margot Kiddor. You are both missed very much!!!
And not only that nuclear man was scary & I don't care what anyone says he's scared me when I was a kid when I first watched it lol
I think people hate what might have been but wasn’t. IV had a real chance to attack something serious and undo some really bad creative decisions allowed by the Salkinds. Unfortunately, it ended up in the hands of Golan and Globus who stole so much of the budget. The filmmakers had no idea the money had been siphoned to another project until they got on set.
If the Salkinds had just given Richard Donner what he’d wanted and stayed out of the way, I feel this series would have been much better overall. Much credit to Reeve, Hackman and Kidder for pouring their hearts into these roles. They’ll always be beloved to me because despite the outside interference, despite the toxicity, their performances were gems.

Best Part in whole movie
For a movie made back in 1987, the flying scenes suck..
Unfortunately the budget was considerably reduced, so they could not afford to do it the way they did in the previous films in the series.
The falling bit as well
Lol 🤣😂
That was an unexpected comment 😆😆😆
She had colds on the balcony of the house
but no problem when crossing all those snowy mountains
They walked up and over the balcony, they're must be stairs there 😆
I'm surprised no one in the comments is mentioning the fact that when Superman let's go of Lois in 1:31, she just continues flying instead of falling out of the sky.
Her being able to fly with him doesn't make sense
And still no explanation.
@@Kiddo_X there will never be an explanation.
Far be it from me to defend this crappy movie, but to be fair she continues to descend the entire time she’s on her own. She’s on a steady downward decline until he grabs her hand again.
Well she DID fall down
One of the only rare shots of the Embarcadero Fwy (I-480) before its collaspe
I Will Always Love You Lady, Margot Kidder as Lois Lane

I remember i saw this movie on Sunset blvd near Alvarado at an old theater with an old friend (it is closed now) we enjoyed it much but i lost my friend a few years later then i found out Christopher died and we just lost Margot (they were more than perfect for both roles) it makes me very sad they are all gone but not forgotten R.I.P.
So basically he violated her memories without her permission.
I think she always knew Clark is Superman, she did say she "remembers everything", so l don't know why everyone saying he erases her memory. I've seen all 4 superman movies many times since the 80s and l never knew he could erase memories. Also, Lois gave Clark Superman's cape when she visited Clark when he was sick, cause she knew he needed it to fly around with it. Also, l think she does remember Clark is Superman because at the end Superman 3 she looked jealous when Lana Lang said Clark gave her the ring, like she was wishing he or rather him as Superman gave one to her.
This scene probably was amazing in the storyboards. Dammit effects!!!
Lois and Clark forever😍😍❤❤
Superman story is the most interesting in the history of entertainment.
transition from clark kent to sups was real !!!!1
This scene had magic
Margot Kiddar and Christopher Reeve were first and foremost good and decent people. Even though it is a movie, it is still possible to feel that it is two extraordinary people, a kind of innocence and beauty that is not so much found today. I pray that there will be a desire before our God to have their rest in heaven, and we will get to see them in the resurrection soon!

Only thing I like about this movie is the score. It just sounds better than from 1-3.
