Fantastic video, my daughter was getting the replacement of battery message. Went pretty smooth, managed to prise apart with my nails gently. Got a reboot message when powering up, but it looks good. Only the fully charge and battery calibration left to do. Get yourself a pint!!
I wanted only to replace the battery and did so exactly as shown in the video with no problems. The battery required for this laptop is a HT03XL available on eBay and elsewhwere. Great video. Huge thanks for making the job much easier.
Thanks for the video. My battery appears to be done.not holding a charge after only about a year. Won't be buying hp again. My old hp lasted years, still going now with original battery
Does this generation of HP have a CMOS battery as well? Some people say yes and some say no. I have a HP Laptop 15s-fq2xxx and the clock has started losing sync after rebooting and I need to resync, so most say change CMOS but as I said, some people say this laptop does not have a separate CMOS battery? Any help appreciated.
@@rickstechrepairs ty for reply. Wear level 7.7%, no battery drain, use about 22% on average while on AC. Very seldom I run off the battery, when its on, its on AC, when its off its still plugged in to the charger. On standby it says 99% remaining at 37886 mWH. So wear and tear on battery not that great. Today booted fine and clock synced, maybe was a conflict with something I installed. Cheers again.
I just replaced the battery in my notebook (identical), and I had difficulty trying to remove the bottom cover, which led to the bottom cracking in one section. On the bottom row underneath where the rubber feet strip goes, my magnetic Phillips 1 screwdriver could not unscrew, nor magnetise with any screws below. Once I was able to put the bottom cover/panel back on, the only screws that firmly screwed back in, are the ones on the centre left and right. The top ones (underneath the top rubber feet strip) would not anchor/screw in. I just left them in their screw holes, then put double tape over to adhere the rubber feet strip back on. Other than that, the replacement generic battery and the notebook functions alright.

Great vid, thanks, Is the CMos battery easy to get at ?
typically the cmos saves with the inbuilt laptop battery.
if you D/C in the larger battery in there it should clear the cmos
could you replace the wifi card on these to a higher spec 5ghz card

i think on most modern hp laptops it usually runs the bios/uefi battery off the internal laptop battery
how is your laptops battery life?
