It saddens me to hear of John's death. Thanks to him I was able to disassemble and reassemble the engine of my 1967 Triumph 650 Trophy.

My big brother John. We grew up together watching and learning from dad. Getting oily washing the oily bits in paraffin was always fun. If it was made, it could be mended, if you didn't have the tool you'd make one. You went on to be the genius in many things. I will miss asking your advice on this and that. I had the privilege to be with you until the very end and I will miss you always. Love from your brother Arthur x

So sad to hear. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your brothers videos helped me so much after the loss of my dad. He also had a Bonneville for years and as tribute to him and to help get over my loss, I decided to do something I knew would make him proud and restore one.
I found your brothers videos invaluable and couldn't have done it without them.
My bike really is also a tribute to your brothers knowledge.
Rest in peace John and thank you.

I have been trying to contact John for a while and now know the reason I failed.
Just found this today and I am in tears.
      Absolutely gutted., devastated.
I don't know what to say.
He was a genuine good guy, loved by all.
If possible I would like to get in touch (understand if you don't) because it doesn't seem right somehow to just leave it that he's simply gone.
I'm going to miss that bloke.

John spent hours working on his bonnie and days editing the videos so he could help others and pass on his wealth of knowledge. Johns and my favourite rides were over the Dales. Feel privileged to have been a part of that for many years and there when Lunmad launched. His legacy will live on. Love and miss you.God bless XX

Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear this.
Mr John Plews you were a wonderful warm, clever, funny and delightful man. The few rides we went on together remain such treasured memories of my riding years, and I don't think we would ever have run out of things to talk about when we were in each others company. The legacy of John's endless knowledge of all things Triumph will remain as one of the highlights of all that can be good on You Tube and will remain a priceless testament to his generosity towards others and of his incredible skill.
You touched people the world over, yet remained modest.
My love and utter respect. Rest in peace, John.

Watched John for years on UA-cam, A great bloke who knew every nut and bolt on his faithful old Bonnie! I sent him a pair of surgical clamps once to help him do something, you would think I had given him £1000. A lovely down to earth bloke with a gift of explaining difficult things and make them seem easy! Truly gutted over his passing! I hope his video's stay on UA-cam so we can continue to watch and remember him! Ride free up there John, God bless you, (If he can stand the noise?) RIP LUNMAD.

Let it be said that John was indeed an internet pioneer among all other things. He taught us, befriended us and even loved us his viewers and benefactors. He leaned into the importance of sharing the light of knowledge for a subject that is fading into the obscurity of time and he single handedly pushes back the darkness for so many of us. Godspeed John Lunmad, you were dear to me all the way out here in California

Sincere condoleances to all his family and friends. I've never met the guy in person, but i've been moved by the news. Like many here, i've been watching his videos as a Triumph Motocycle's owner. I wanted to thank him one last time for his work, his generosity in sharing his mechanical skills to everyone, and for free. He helped so many of us to dare putting their hands in grease and getting to really know their bike. I'm not an english speaking person, so i'm gonna laugh one last time about his english accent. I confess that i had to play some parts of the videos several times to get to understand what he was saying ! But people like him are too rare. He deserves respect and admiration for all he's done in the name of passion. Godspeed Lunmad, and where ever you are, ride safe !

I'm very sad and speechless. For those who don't know, I invited Mr. John (this is how I used to call him due to different cultures and he laughed about it) to Kuwait to help fix my old triumph. It was one of the best learning lessons in my life, not only from a technical perspective. I was humbled by his knowledge (while I'm an engineer) and his patience to teach. He was so down to earth and kind. Very pure.

Sadened by the news that John has passed, his videos and knowledge inspired me to tackle my own T140 myself and this has led me to work on many other vintage bikes.
    Thank you John
    Rest easy

Gutted to hear this. I don’t think I would have kept my 71 bonnie on the road if it wasn’t for his helpful vids. Clearly elongated all his maintenance jobs having to stop and film and mess about with lighting etc but he did it all to help others out and keep his beloved triumph family on the road. Ride free forever!
