First, the history; Sept 1939, when Germany invaded Poland a force of 720 Poles faced 40,000 German troops and held them off for three days, but German tanks slowly eliminate their defensive positions. Their last two emplacements only surrendered after they ran out of ammunition. Truly one of the great examples of warrior spirit. Love the part where they sing "Always remember the fallen soldier, Always remember, fathers and sons at war." Great song, and another one that reaches into your soul. Great reaction, keep rocking Sabaton.
i feel like im committing a reaction channel comments sin by not saying "you gotta check out the 2012 polandrock/ woodstock version of this song". seriously though, every song you can find from that show is 10/10 pure sonic gold. sabaton is a band that has such a good sound that i personally much prefer their live stuff. this and uprising have HUGE reactions and participation from that crown, since its a metal band literally singing the praises of your nations most victorious moments. as many have said, Sabaton makes me feel so proud of the heroism and bravery displayed and sung about by this band, even if im not from that nation
Respect to the polish army, they face not only but two major countries at the same time (the germans and the soviets) and keep fighting until the end 😔
Here in Poland we remember 1939 very well. Westerplatte and other battles in the September Campaigne which unfortunatelly ended with the surrender and 6 years occupation. The last battle in Kock (my region) was lost due to the luck of the ammunition, further fight had no point. And the allies didn't help. We had the strong will but not many equipment and army after regaining independence twenty tears before and fighting Bolshevics in 1920... Thanks for reacting to this song. Worth seeing live 2012 Woodstock.
I would suggest that you have your backup lyrics screen close to your main screen because when it's a video that tell the story even in the cinematics you miss out pretty much when looking away on the lyrics.
The lyric, 'Spirit of Spartans' refers to the Polish Hussars, who engaged in battles in the 16th and 17th century, often outnumbered and still coming out victorious.
@@The_GuyWhoNeverUploadsAnything Thanks for the question. It is because, like Spartans, the Winged Hussars very often faced seemingly overwhelming opposition on the battlefield and were able to go undefeated for well over a century. 400 Hussars against 10.000 enemy. Sounds unbelievable but these conflicts are documented. I'm not up on Sparta's history but apparently its warriors had similar encounters. And the word 'Spirit' must refer to the fact Spartans are no longer with us.

Actualy casulties of Wermacht was so big in Poland (check wikipedia ;) ) that Hitler shifted invasion on France 1 year. Actualy it coluld finish in different way (Wermach had no power to take whole Poland) if not Russians who attack Poland in 17.09.1939 from back. . . AND NO, POLISH CAVALERY HAD NEVER CHARGED TANKS, this myth has 2 origins, first Germans propangada wanted to show that Polish are stupid, second in one Polsich movie this scene was used to show hopless situation o Poles against outnumbered fire power and yet will to fight.

Even though it's nice to see the original lineup I really do prefer the 2012 woodstock version so I can take it on me to mention it. 😆

Poland has always had a history of a proud, fierce, and devoted military.

i got you!
All in top of 10 of their song for me. I love seven pillars Chris's solo.
@@Finkele1 Me too, one of the best.

if it was any closer it would be in front of the main!

Why would "Spirit of Spartans" refer to polish Hussars instead of actual Spartans?

Greetings from Poland 😀
greetings! thanks for begin here!
Next song would be Pasadena 1994
Actually the Polish fight bravely, but at 40/1 is too much. Also, there was still horse armies in Poland and the germans have already tank divisions.
