Oh my, that was b u t ful. Brought tears to my eyes. Genesis has been my favorite band for 43yrs. I listen to them everyday. And will till the day I die. I very much appreciate you sharing this with us🌺. Wow
If you can hear I can't dance and Who dunnit, so you really are a diehard Genesis fan. I love specially Selling england by the pound, A trick of the tail and Wind and Wuthering
Exactly I listen to at least one track of Genesis per day too. They never got the recognition of being one of the greatest bands of all time. Every song in the entire Genesis Album collection is Incredible. (with the exception of The First Studio Album, "From Genesis to Revelation" & The Last Studio Album, "Calling All Stations")
I'm criyng too! how many times , in my life, i thought the fortune i had to listen this band, absolutely the first and best for harmony, skill, complications of textures ecc. ecc. The world of music is beautyful thanks to these boys! Genesis forever, in the Olympus of good music!
I recently met a girl who had no knowledge of Genesis' music. I had her listen to Ripples and memorize the lyrics. Once familiar with Ripples, I had her listen to THIS piano version of Ripples. She listens to it almost every night and often cries to it!
The segment that begins at 4:20 has always been one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces I've ever heard from Genesis and I really like how you have translated the blend of instruments into a pure keyboard piece. Thanks.
All together now. Blue girls come in every size Some are wise and some otherwise, They got pretty blue eyes. For an hour a man may change For an hour her face looks strange - Looks strange, looks strange. Marching to the promised land Where the honey flows and takes you by the hand, Pulls you down on your knees, While you're down a pool appears. The face in the water looks up, And she shakes her head as if to say That it's the last time you'll look like today. Sail away, away Ripples never come back. Gone to the other side. Sail away, away. The face that launched a thousand ships Is sinking fast, that happens you know, The water gets below. Seems not very long ago Lovelier she was than any that I know. Angels never know it's time To close the book and gracefully decline, The song has found a tale. My, what a jealous pool is she. The face in the water looks up She shakes her head as if to say That the blue girls have all gone away. Sail away, away Ripples never come back. They've gone to the other side. Look into the pool, Ripples never come back, Dive to the bottom and go to the top To see where they have gone Oh, they've gone to the other side... Sail away, away Ripples never come back. Gone to the other side. Look into the pool, The ripples never come back, come back, Dive to the bottom and go to the top To see where they have gone They've gone to the other side
Wonderful! A very powerful piece. And the Genesis original, with Phil’s lyrics, is just devastating. Aging, terrible yes. But fortunate to be here now. Thank you, gentlemen, for the fine rendition.
Ever since a friend included a live version of the original onto a compilation tape for me, over 35yrs ago!, I've LOVED this song. Up there in my top 3 of all Genesis tracks, and comfortably top 5 of all time songs period. The Rome Live video - where a guy is watching with his son on his shoulders - chokes me every time.
And meant to say this version - wow! You guys do an amazing job capturing the soul of this song. Working in harmony, never straying from the original and yet bringing something fresh to it. Bravo!!
Genesis has got to be the most classical rock band ever. Or, maybe, I should say the most operatic rock band ever. Their music is so theatrical, so full of mythology. Legendary story tellers.
Sempre me emociona pra caramba esse momento...
Genesis was one of my very first music loves in 1974. Have been a favorite ever since. You men did a great job bringing the feeling and emotion that Tony and his mates put into this. Thanks for your passion, thanks for sharing your skills.
A beautiful song beautifully done. Thank you paying this extraordinary tribute to Tony Banks and Genesis. So sorry you are no longer with us Angelo. Thank you for sharing the gift of your love and passion. Always, 🙏🎹🙏
Bravo!!! 🌹🌹🌹👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 What a beautiful performance of a Genesis classic! This work of musical art has stirred my emotion and soul since I first heard - the album; A Trick of a Tail, in 1976.
Genesis was very popular in the Philly/NYC area where I grew up in the early 1980s, but in the south only their pop hits were known. When I went to college at UGA in the 1980s, I would play Ripples for girls in my dorm room. Some of them had tears in their eyes listening to the lyrics. I had DOZENS of girls asking me to make taped copies of Ripples, and then Entangled.
Charles Belisle Definitely, very beautiful. I heard an earlier version live at one of their performances, but it was not yet so worked out with such depth. (I'm not going to attempt to write that in French -- it would simply be an embarrassment :)

This rendering of a great piece by Genesis makes this old man smile.

Mr. Tony Banks is a great composer to create such a beautiful piece of music.
Genesis The Greatest Group Ever!
8 minutes of beauty that makes you forget what happen in your world. Enchanting.
I recently met a girl who had no knowledge of Genesis' music. I had her listen to Ripples and memorize the lyrics. Once familiar with Ripples, I had her listen to THIS piano version of Ripples. She listens to it almost every night and often cries to it!
Tony Banks Piano Song Writing & Arrangement Talents are absolutely amazing!!!
As a heavy rock 70s guitarist who is now 62 years old I really wish I'd learned the piano. 😳👍👍😎
The segment that begins at 4:20 has always been one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces I've ever heard from Genesis and I really like how you have translated the blend of instruments into a pure keyboard piece. Thanks.
all from the mind of genious Tony Banks
I feel just the same. One of my favourite sections in any song ever, I think, over 30 years after I first heard it.
@@ArexSant I think the melody over that section may have come from Steve Hackett
Just sheer class both this version and the original
For me it's the climax around 7mins. My days! The emotion that's triggered in me.
I soared well clear above the rooftops and then was pulled back down to my couch when the wife called at me. Great music is like helium.
Original: Ripples, by Genesis, decades ago - and appreciated ever since. :)🎶

Tony Banks. 'nuff said. Bravo.

MY FAVORITE GENESIS TUNE AND ALL I CAN SAY IS OUTSTANDING!!!!
Great song , great players , this is one of the most beautiful piece from a legendary progressive rock band , Viva Genesis Viva the good music .
Never put blanks before comma/period! Looks ridicilous!
@azzteke So don't read the comment and we aren't in school being graded on what and how we write
First time heard this version perfect must play it again😊
How can people hit "dislike" on this video? It's lovely! Good job guys!
Wonderful! A very powerful piece. And the Genesis original, with Phil’s lyrics, is just devastating. Aging, terrible yes. But fortunate to be here now. Thank you, gentlemen, for the fine rendition.
Thank you for this version and thank you GENESIS
Utterly beautiful and, like the whole album out today, a fantastic tribute to classic Genesis pieces. RIP Angelo Di Loreto
Grazie ai grandi Genesis che ci hanno lasciato tutto questo
Semplicemente meraviglioso ..la musica scioglie anche i cuori di ghiaccio
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for that.
Goosebumps! One of my favourites ❤

Wonderful...No words to express my feelings to these amazing musicians!
Surely one of Genesis most beautiful songs.
04:36 VERY nice recreation of Hackett's guitar solo. :)
Superb. Easily merits a place in my favourites. Very well done guys.
Genesis has got to be the most classical rock band ever. Or, maybe, I should say the most operatic rock band ever. Their music is so theatrical, so full of mythology. Legendary story tellers.
Absolutely Beautiful!..one of my favorites from 'Trick of the Tail'...thank you sooo much for posting and for your talent and passion for great music.
Absolutly wonderful!!👏👏🎶🎹😊Thank you for this beatifull performing 👏
Goosebump stuff, from a Genesis fan for 50 years.
Does anyone know if they've done 'After The Ordeal'?
Bravo , très belle interprétation d'un magnifique joyau musical.
Je reconnais éprouver beaucoup de plaisir à écouter Ripples différemment interprété.

Magnifico! A masterpiece!
Even just on piano, the complexity of Genesis' shows through. They, and the 6 members music are all you need to listen to.
Not sure if I prefer this version over Genesis' original - tough decision! This is hauntingly beautiful! Thank you both for loving Genesis!
Missing you Angelo
Beautiful song played beautifully by the two pianists...
Sail away... away... Angelo. Thank you for all the emotions.
One of the most beautiful songs ever! Perfect interpretation! Congratulations!
Who is singing??
Bravíssimo!
Outstanding
Didn't think it would be possible to make a great song better but they have. F****** brilliant.
Favorite album. Wouldn’t skip a single song
