Yes Malinois are great, but they are also a lot of work, but you can do these obedience leader walks to make your dog great too. Enjoy. Like comment and share!
I love the answer in the end "no he's working." Perfect response though and I respect the owner and the dog so much because he truly is being worked. That's their time.
Incredible.. ex military for sure.. I rescued a Belgian Malinois.. She was was unbelievable.. Protected me straight away when my friend approached the car door.. I threw a ball up on a high wall expecting her to run up the stairs, she jumped the wall, me and my mate were speechless.. I got her back to her family the next day.. I want one now . I'm a very active person.. I would put the work in to have a Malinois half as trained as yours I'll be happy..
@josephdiaz2182 not yet.. we are doing the garden now.. we are getting a rescue.. I've always been very good with dogs even dogs that are aggressive I've been stroking them, the owners have come outside looked at me shocked saying, " this dog never lets anybody stroke him" I just love em, great energy dogs have, love cats too!
Just wanted to say, that your dog is amazing. That being said, it seems people want to train their dog. In my limited experience, it's us that is hard to train. So I guess I'm saying you are amazing and your dog truly reflects your attentiveness and dedication to him. He is a beautiful mirror of obviously brilliant mind. How amazing the both of you must be together. Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
I just realized how quick dog's reaction times were. Look at how quick he understands and acts when he hears orders. That's way more processing power than I thought they had
I love how involved your dog is with you. Some people would say you are a tyrant to your dog, but that's further from the truth. For this level of obedience, your dog has to have an amazing amount of trust and faith in you as a leader. They love being part of the "master plan" and it's awesome for team bonding. I'm going to have to teach my border collie girl the one where they stay between your legs. My girl has an issue with needing to check people out when she gets close to them. She's good with recall, but it's still annoying to have to pull her away.
Panther Owl Brodie collies are very friendly. Our dog with bark of joy and excitement when you wake up, and when he was little he’d get so excited he peed,
People who would call him a tyrant are the ones that don’t know the difference between a working dog and a dog. Left to their own devices they would rearrange your house to pass time or maybe even to please you! Without a leader, malinois are miserable. A working dog doesn’t clock out either.
Yes exactly, he certainly aint no tyrant, dogs still live with an alpha male in mind and his owner is the alpha, they always obey the alpha unless he is weak.
@@Pierreponken Way outdated thinking.... Dogs don't follow alphas, dogs, and even wolves don't follow alpha theory, which has been debunked for almost 30 years now. Dogs are more likely to act well for a person who motivates their dog, and usually, animals respect those who bring goodness over those who punish often. Also, dogs don't really care if their "alpha" is male or female. I know a lot of dogs that only respect the women of the household, because men tend to be too relaxed with the rules, and let the dogs walk all over them.
This is nonsense. I had an Alpha. He would punish bad behaved dogs, (not biting, but be asserting himself, and rolling them on their backs). They would LOVE him for it and became instantly far better behaved. Of course there are Alpha and if you had actually lived in the real world and observed dogs behaviour you would know this. Dogs respect leaders, and feel more secure around them.
Thank you for posting this! While I have been training dogs off and on for over 20 years, I've never worked with the herding/working dogs other than bullies because of their extremely high energy. I felt like without a yard or farm, they'd be high strung and unhappy. Well.... thanks to a very mislabeled dog at the shelter and my lack of knowledge on these breeds... I came home with a 10 month old Australian Kelpie - not a shepherd/pitt mix. Her intelligence and energy is something I've never experienced - HOLY COW! I work FT during the week, I come home to do at least 3 hours of 'tire that dog'. No less than 3 miles of walking on leash - loose heel while she gets used to obedience, 40mins "offleash" running (vibration collar & 50' lead to throw Frisbee as she's still very much a runner), and most nights she does another 5-8 miles on the treadmill (she picked that up in 2 weeks :))Even after all of that she paces CONSTANTLY or picks on the cat. She is very sensitive and loving but has this anxiety that I can't seem to help her with. Literally cannot lay down for more than 3 minutes - even if she's panting and clearly tired. If I put her in her crate, she'll pass right out. Had her 2 months so not sure if it's her trying to get to her previous owners or what but I'm trying to help her without medication. Her recall is slowly getting better but she certainly hits these moments of absolute crazy - ping ponging back and forth trying to rip the leash free to run away. I'm going to try some of your suggestions on the walk to see if that doesn't mentally drain her energy. Until she can ride in the car and not puke the entire trip, I cant sign her up for any agility classes! UGH! :(
100% agree with the "no, hes working" comment. I could see why you don't want to integrate petting and playtime with strangers in this scenario, he's busy!

All Belgians have an aptitude that is literally off the charts, no one has ever found the limits to what they are capable of doing. I had a tervuren from 1998-2015 and he was super quick to pick up on ways of communicating and adhering to anything he then perceived as pleasing. There were things he did that left witnesses in shock. At 6 mo old I met a family on a concrete walkway, the 4 yr old was hunting wild carrots. The boy bent over the edge of the walk to where it looked like he would tip over, Flash put a paw on the boy's shoulder, took two steps back to right him, then stood by my side looking at his parents like "It's ok now". They freaked, demanded a family photo with him. He had never been taught anything like that, that was all him, just how they are. Not a toy. I wish I could recommend them for everyone but, no, it makes me shiver a little inside to think of a Belgian being bought as a 'pet' or family buddy in most cases. I've lost human family and friends but I've never felt the urge to leave, myself, to follow one of them just so they won't be alone wherever it is we go. He had a long and awesome life with a lot of adventures and that's the only thing that keeps me from absolutely losing it, to this very day and likely for the rest of my life. Here's something you might not know they can do - he came to a friend of mine, who had no way of knowing that he had passed, in a dream, ran up to him and dropped a cellphone at his feet then ran back to me. Several times now, I've started thinking of him and changed what I was doing and I've avoided car accidents, traffic jams, lots of work related injuries. Dharma, karma, all of that, none of it differentiates between lifeforms. We're building things we can't see all the time.

Only get a working dog of any kind when you can spend the time to train, walk and play with it daily. They require a lot of attention and exercise plus most of these breeds don't do well alone for longer periods of time. If you get this dog when you know you can't properly keep one, you're only thinking of your self and not the animal, which in my eyes is more than "just" poor dog ownership. Since it would be your first dog, you need a dog you can learn to train dogs with..... you don't train your self to train a dog with a Malinois ;)
This is EXACTLY how a dog should behave, and how his owner should raise him. Literally a 10/10 textbook video on how to handle a dog. I wish people had to undergo a driver's license procedure for dogs, where they have to watch this video here, before yet another case of ''But he was so cute, he would never bite anyone!'' happens, or funny ''Husky temper tantrum'' videos where a dog acts like a spoiled child being uploaded to youtube. Getting really sick of those types of ''funny'' content. Your dog is beautiful, hope hes still alive. PS: I like the german commands, like ''Platz!'' and ''Steh!'' Isnt that also used by the police to honor the shepards country of origin, and so that criminals couldnt confuse them with english words?
Very impressive dog. Well behaved, well trained. This is why I love dogs. Because they are capable of being extremely smart if you put the time into them. Good job man.
My own theory is that it's because german has lots of words with really strong sounds to them and the words are more easily destinguished making it easier for the dog somehow.
A really beautiful connection between a man and his dog. A good boy indeed. It’s amazing how well some dogs are trained. And it seems like the dog is loving the little workout. A really good job by the handler and this amazing dog.

Extremely intelligent dog.
Nice. Super deutsch lol 😂
Wow, this is by far the most awesome dog. He's good
3:40 That's how you get the ladies

MasterPaw k
@@MasterPaw how much time did it take you to teach him everything in total
Very impressive dog. Well behaved, well trained. This is why I love dogs. Because they are capable of being extremely smart if you put the time into them. Good job man.
WTF HE IS SMARTER THAN ME
The sit "Shtee" command is the best combo.
i find that most highly trained dogs are given a lot of commands in German.. same here > why is that?
My own theory is that it's because german has lots of words with really strong sounds to them and the words are more easily destinguished making it easier for the dog somehow.
He is a beauty.
Can you train my three Siberian huskies for me?
Stormy Effects ofcourse..
MasterPaw
I really would like to see you try, how much would it cost and how can I contact you?
I really enjoyed watching that I like the idea of a working dog who is inteligent.
A really beautiful connection between a man and his dog. A good boy indeed. It’s amazing how well some dogs are trained. And it seems like the dog is loving the little workout. A really good job by the handler and this amazing dog.
Unbelievable! Amazing !
Beautiful.

The Belgian Malinois is a hyper energetic and smart dog. Very playful and obedient. Almost acting like a robot once well trained. Good job.
Dogs are like gifts, Sometime some people don't deserve it.
They are smart breed . I love my malinois too.
