I had to sweat so hard and have a tremendous amount of luck on my side to get the team wipe portion of the quest completed in gambit. I killed the 4th guy within the last second of my invasion and was getting returned right as he died. Personally, I think quests like these are a bit absurd as the average player is never going to be able to obtain the weapon. A flat number of player kills in gambit would’ve sufficed. But having to wipe the entire enemy team in one invasion while they have the potential to direct 4 heavy weapons at you at once was a bit ridiculous.
This. I remember seeing that back in the day and giving up on getting it. I've seen one person on my team go over and wipe the other team in all the time I played Gambit. I got lucky in that when I invaded they were all grouped together fighting their primevil and I nailed them with Blade Barrage. If it wasn;t for that I still wouldn't have it because I've never gotten a team wipe since.
The Team wipe was much easier back when Gambit and Gambit Prime were separate since the non-Prime playlist was 3 rounds and allowed you more opportunities to invade and wipe the enemy team. Also the maps in the regular playlist were smaller so more action more quickly.

Stop what you’re doing and find the invader when you get the invaded warning, take a shot or two at them. Save your super and go through the portal, super and rocket launcher to profit! Works particularly well after they’ve summoned the primeval and the enemy team is all in one spot.
Did literally all the steps solo in a day and now I’m just stuck on the very last part for gambit 😤 why is it so hard to get a 1v4… I’ve killed 3 so many times but can’t get a fourth
I just completed this quest last week. I waited it out for the last part till I had different teammates kill the 4 Gurdians. Sure, was a ton of Gambit matches reset my rank twice. I also cheesed the boss by jumping on that same rock you hide behind. There is a part at the top where you can hide, and I used osteo striga and the vorpal glitch to take him out.
I'm on my last step but i still have 23 invaders to kill. but the step before, don't care winnig until 100 motes are done. it does not matter if you bank 4 or 9 or 14 motes, do it. loosing motes costs you so much time to get it equal. ( i had 10 wins, before i had the 100 motes. it took me like 4 or 5 matches more to get it done. overall like 20 matches because i lost so much motes and doesn't knew it counts double)
If you're struggling with the team kills try Deathbringer I can't guarantee it will help as I don't know of the quest tracks it this way (I am stuck on the mIssion) but the ability to get two to three kills a long time after you have been pulled back is *chefs kiss*. Basically you want to get as many kills as you can then wait till the final 3-5 seconds of your time and lob the deathbringer projectile as high above the collection point/Primeval as possible. After your pulled back people will think "Invader is gone!" and rush back to the collection point/Primeval Spawn location and you will often get multiple kills. Remember you need to hold your trigger to keep the projectile from splitting before its above the point that's why you need to have a handful of seconds of time available. Also only run Deathbringer when you are going for Kills/Team Kills because if you need to win trying to kill a primeval with deathbringer is trolling your team as the projectiles will track all the smaller enemies as well as primeval. As the Invader however the projectiles only track players.
I learn something after finshing this quest that in last step where you have to kill 4 enemy at once 4 time. It has been change little bit you have to only do this 3 time now. The progression goes like this 33%, 67% and 100%. I know percent doesn't add up but I saw this and sometimes it also count for 3 enemy at once in last time.
Beat that last boss with The Lament and using YAS build, was just looking down throwing tripmines at his feet and the sword was healing me, got my mines back like every 3 hits or so.
2:39 oh man, im realizing i tried this in the past. Solo it went horribly, especially near the end, i went in blind and got blind rage as a result (Who puts snipers in a jumping platform section? Thanks Sausage, just gambit bit to do now. Like gambit, so I guess iam gonna have to invade no stop, hang around the portal. Another exotic guide, thank you.... "👍"...

Just solo'd the strike using Graviton x Gyr's Falcon, without even seeing this video, oops. It's trivial with that combo, and then just perch behind the big rock and plink away. But I wanted to see Mr. Sausage talk about it!

Dude I love your energy lol always enjoy watching your videos even if im not doing that in the game lol cheers!
"As the Invader however the projectiles only track players."
That's because the ai on the other side are actually allies!
I like this... thank you.
@@themudpit621 You're Welcome!
Cant remember it was that hard to get it... has there been changes perhaps,,,
i was stuck on the boss fight for a bit, but thanks to this marvelous sausage i hid behind the rock and killed the boss :)
Yes Soss,
Every hunter needs lucky pants and Malfeasance it's destroys champs.
Much love. X
Thank you !!
Just for new players doing this, the cheese on the boss for the second mission is fixed so he will send you off from behind the rock
Total pain to get but totally worth it. The old Lake of Shadows Nighfall, this was all you needed.
One of the best unknown cannons in the game, in my opinion.
It hits hard, has decent control, and those stacks, melts many high powered enemies
Made even better with the damage boost Hand Cannons got recently as well combied with Lucky Pants.
And it does really well in PvP
@@Kinvarus1 lucky pants with this was running through all the lost sectors
Beat that last boss with The Lament and using YAS build, was just looking down throwing tripmines at his feet and the sword was healing me, got my mines back like every 3 hits or so.
I've had this quest for what seems like forever. I just can't get the 4 kills as an invader.
It just sucks eggs BIG TIME 🤬
It is very tricky
It's a bit to do. Tracking tickets, ranged supers, Xenophage, all "try hard" invader things can help.
Thanks Mr S. was looking to do this soon
Well worth it Edward!
thank you! really useful and entertaining to watch
Thank you!
2:39 oh man, im realizing i tried this in the past.
Solo it went horribly, especially near the end, i went in blind and got blind rage as a result
(Who puts snipers in a jumping platform section? Still angry about that 😤)
But, good to seek wisdom idk if I'll try it again but its good to learn. Thank ya
Finally got it after 5 years i ended up giving up couldnt get 4 guardian kills in a row luck was never on my side but today i pulled out the thunderlord seen 4 enemies and let the thunder strike its lightning
I just barely got forsaken, I'm farming for this mission , good thing I really like gambit
Helpful tip for killing taken in the dreaming city. Right infront of the blind well there is a scorn and taken fight. Keep killing the taken then they will spawn alot of yellow bar miniboss takens and i got it done in 5 minutes
Got it on my third try ! Thanks for the help
Thank you for the cheesing it area so helpful
Nobody ever plays gambit I've tried multiple days to que up and it says 1/8 and I stayed there for over an hour trying to get a game of gambit 😔
You know what upset me about this quest. I killed the entire enemy team twice on the step where you had to get wins and motes. (We still lost those games too) and now I unlock the next step and that stuff doesn’t count. So aggravating
damn... well, if you did it before, you can do it again. Good luck.
great timing…working on gambit wins 😢before the last step. the corrupted strike is crazy ridiculous; boss tethers and tries to knock you off map. well warlock and manticore helped. wish i used the cheese.
Didn't realize this was an older video until you mentioned it not having a catalyst yet.
Anyway, it's been so long since I did this I completely forgot what was involved.
Thank you for that spot bro I finally finished it
Man i remember when that came out it took me a few tries to solo the special strike at the end. Hardest thing ive ever been able to solo. Before any new subclass or rework. Stasis or a 3.0 would have been helpful
This is weird because I swear as of last year they made all the gambit motes and 4 team kills before doing the Not a Strike. And that the Ascended bit is with it being the final step to get the gun.
Thanks Sausage, just gambit bit to do now. Like gambit, so I guess iam gonna have to invade no stop, hang around the portal. Another exotic guide, thank you.... "👍"...
Hardest part while fighting the boss was that second wizard. My advice is to have your super ready for one wizard and a rocket ready for the 2nd one right away. Can confirm sitting perched on the rock is the way to do it. Good luck yall
Good stuff!
This gun was for a long time my load out with ep shotty and gambit rocket launcher
You might want to use eyes of tomorrow, to get the multi kills it tracks everything, truth used to be the go to but they nerfed it’s tracking.
What if you have it on a different character and want it on the one you are playing
Btw you dont need forsaken anymore to get malfeasance
@@skeletonoffckingdoom5764 you don’t?
Just got back to the game and was wondering why this mission for the drifter was long and difficult... was not aware that this was a strike and I went in solo with a pretty low level weapon/ability...
I used Jotun for the four guardian kills, and got the last one as I was being teleported back.
Good choice that!
They should just vault this quest and put it to the shrine in the tower, gambit needs an overhaul
For the last step if I do the invade and kill all 4 do I have to do it 3 times in 1 match?
No just have to kill 4 of the enemy team when you invade in one invasion if you see what I mean
@@timesausages I was trying earlier does it count if there’s only 3 of them? I’ve been loading into games where they don’t even have a full team or whenever I invade 1 of the enemies decide to invade as well 😭
I hate this quest, had it sitting there for a couple of years. Maybe I'll give it a go with your suggestions now that I'm almost fully powered up this season.
i found a place where u can hide and shoot from there he cant even touch u. on top of the main big rock u can stand there and shoot from there but on phase 2 u need to kill witch behind u first then do same
It's a wicked hand cannon. My goto when running a strand build
Yeah the strike and the final part is a royal pain in the arse. At the light level I was it felt on par with a legendary nightfall. The last part with the four kills for me anyway depends on the opposite team. If they're good it's a struggle. Tracking rocket and super eventually got it done. Well if you can actually Invade before your teammates lol.
Thats the trickiest part
Holy crap I wish I watched this before I rq the mission from getting knocked off so much lol
Great video
Cheers Bedhead!!
Im still stuck on step 2... everytime i think i get one of the kills, i check the quest and it still hasnt updated.
I want this hand cannon so bad but the final step of the quest got me stuck since i suck at invading
Just keep playing, may take a while, but eventually other people will take care of it for you (if you don't manage to pull it off yourself first).
Thank you!
Does the gambit stuff work in private matches
Thank you for the tips.
If you are having a hard time with the phalanx you can just take the exotic arms handshake of the liar and punch him to his death
I rather wait for hawkmoon to get swashbuckler takes to long to get the more it looked glitched my quest for this handcannon
I started playing destiny 2 again like last month and i just Bought the forsaken dlc because it was on sale so when i got this quest i looked it up and felt so frustrated hearing about the grind. But funny enough the last step was the fastest for me. Easy? No but definitely fastest. I used my strand hunter and flew around the map just supercharged. Try it out people. Maybe have a rocket in your back pocket just in case.
Just solo'd the strike using Graviton x Gyr's Falcon, without even seeing this video, oops. It's trivial with that combo, and then just perch behind the big rock and plink away. But I wanted to see Mr. Sausage talk about it!
Can u tell me why even if i win matches in gambit it won’t give me progress?? STEP 4
im still stuck on the last step
Quest was pretty easy only thing that took long for me was getting 10 gambit wins with horrible matchmaking
Sorry
After Final Shape
I'm pretty much done with the 2nd step but looking at the third and how it requires you to do a variant of the corrupted strike is worrying me, at the moment that strike requires you to have the forsaken pack, will it stay like that and I just have to spend a lil money i9, or does something happen when I actually get to the third step
you gotta buy the dlc to continue forward
I can’t get the malfeasance from my collections and is making me do the quest again. Anyone know how to fix it?
Isn't this corrupted strike a vanguard thing can't we just do this quest in that?
