- Venice, Los Angeles - May 10, 2024: On Friday, a cleanup operation was conducted at Venice Beach, targeting a local homeless encampment with the involvement of a multi-agency task force. This team comprised members from the Los Angeles Police Park Rangers, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and the office of Councilwoman Traci Park.
The operation was safely and efficiently managed with the presence of Park Rangers. It marked a concerted effort among the Department of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, and Clean Harbors Environmental Inc. Team members donned protective gear to sort and appropriately dispose of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
This cleanup is part of the City of Los Angeles' broader strategy to address homelessness while improving public health and sanitation. It underscores the city’s commitment to addressing these pressing urban challenges.
LAHSA plays a crucial role during these operations by providing support services including food, water, and hygiene kits, reflecting a compassionate approach to the crisis.
Notably, no citations for public camping violations were issued during this cleanup, indicating the city's preference for supportive over punitive measures.
This cleanup is part of a series of ongoing actions, including regular Friday cleanups along the Venice Beach Boardwalk, all under the supervision of Los Angeles Park Rangers. These initiatives are essential components of the city’s comprehensive strategy to maintain cleanliness and safety while addressing the root causes of homelessness. Effective coordination by Councilwoman Traci Park continues to be crucial, highlighting a balanced and humane approach to these challenges.

The Rev enjoys being a showman. Craving the limelight just like Daisy. Drawn to the camera like moths to the light.
Doing God's work through cursing. What a conundrum of mental illness.
Watching SMCU videos for the last year, I've probably seen tons of trash being thrown out and millions of tax dollars being spent on sanitation workers, park rangers, police, homeless aid workers, hazardous waste workers, etc. Nothing has improved, maybe time for a new strategy.
This is sad....if a cop sees someone throw a bottle on the ground, they'd get a $1000 ticket for littering, but when the homeless trash the beach...cops don't ticket them.....instead they get a warning to leave so the city can clean up their mess!!! WTF is wrong with the system??? IT IS BROKEN!!!
I asked Siri how much a shopping cart cost. Between $90 and $200. They just throw them in the green machine. Sickening.
And be arrested go to jail? I thought help homeless not arrest them.
@@SuzanneS2023 Being homeless doesn't excuse criminal behavior. Sometimes tough love might be what they need to kick a drug habit or get mental health help. Letting people live in filth outside isn't compassion.
Part of the fault there is with the grocery stores. I can only assume that missing carts are written off their taxes as losses, as I see none of them making ANY effort at all to recover them. When contacting stores to tell them about their wayward carts, I've gotten mostly indifference or excuses ("we don't have a truck to get them") as if they couldn't dispatch a young kid to walk them back. Unfortunately, I suspect that we all pay more for groceries- on top of the crazy inflation- because of these losses.
Red scarf guy should become a Park Ranger, it would be fun to watch him during weekly morning bathroom clean ups.
Hear crazy daisy
They should have dept of corrections cleaning up for free
I agree! Make them work.
Thanks we love your channel, my human mom was born at Santa Monica hospital 💜
Meth wrecks & broken junkies all over.
All the ‘peopleplosions’ wreck sites around, all a meth head’s ‘punding’ with no person now in sight.
Madly tearing through all their stuff over& over.😅
It must be utterly shocking at NIGHT,
like 2am - 4am.
Overall, in past
two wx, auto theft chases are down.
Some of the multi County / East homeless routes, seen a few obvious meth-withdrawal homeless rip & rides.
Especially the past winter.
Hope there’s a good budget for shopping carts
There's gonna be new colledge degrees in homeless management. It's a growing industry replacing tourism
They can replace their DEI degrees!😂
Replacing actual residents
You couldn't pay me to go to Venice Beach.
Homeless guy wants park ranger job, lol

Imagine a beach without trash/bums!
Would be like a world without Vagrants!

@@CarsandCatsgot that right why I love our governor DeSantis
In my country the government provides emergency housing & unemployment benefits for the homeless. We also have free healthcare and state housing. The USA looks third world in comparison.
The two black gentlemen are the only ones doing all the work.
While the others just stand around doing sweet fa, happens every video.
just as long as there are no

Rev white looks and acts like gary busey. Weirdo
Hey! he does me also. LOL
I was going to post this!
Baseball's Arnie Costell probably averaged 99 with his left handed pitch. He regularly would excite the radar gun speeding past at 100, 101, and 102 quite often. Annie made it Big Time but I understand he was heck of a guy.
