This is a great video, & to whoever has posted this on UA-cam you have my gratitude. So much modern fitness/kickboxing & MMA stuff out online now, not that any of them are bad, but I prefer very old school training methods so this video does the trick.
One of the styles that he studied. He earned black belts in Tang Soo Do, Shotokan, Goju-ryu, Taekwondo, Kobudo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the equivalent in Wushu also. Though Kyokushin is his favorite of all I believe.
this is kyokushin-kai, video is "fighting black kings" older, the man throwing the knives is Ashihara, and this is Joko Ninomiya's first tournament in late teens, took third place.
It is! I fought twice in such tournament but in local levels. I lost both competitions but it doesn't matter. I was lucky enough to leave both tournaments walking with my two feet!
flip1sba Cool! I had practiced shotokan for four years which I later discovered had a more "zen" attitude to it, the self-discipline you get out of it is amazing! Respect for competing in tournaments *pounds chest*
That dojo was in the Homewood area of Birmingham 29th avenue.......and It is World Oyama Karate.....I trained in Birmingham for 20 years under Saiko Shihan.....
@@mooseandsquirrel9887 I used to live in i Hoover. I was walking around Homewood on the street and came across this dojo around 2010 or so. I met a young Japanese guy kicking the heavy bag and he was nice and talked to me for a few minutes. I never had enough money to train there. Oh well. I thought about it though.
***** Kyokushin from what I hear is very good. It is bare-knuckle, full-contact karate and ranks up there with Muay Thai as a striking art. Kyokushin fighters also have done very well in K-1.
***** Yes, I need to get back into martial arts myself. Have only done karate thus far though. Would like to train boxing, Kyokushin, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Also German longsword (you can find demonstrations on UA-cam).
***** Yes, strong legs are very helpful for karate kicks. But even if you had weak legs, the solution would be to engage in strength training in order to strengthen them up.
カッコイイ極真❣️三浦美幸師範は真の空手家だと思います
This is great to see how Miura-shihan started his dojo in Chicago back in 70's. Amazing video.
過去に憧れず、今 令和の空手を極めて欲しい。

This is the style that Micheal Jai White studied. Also Bas Rutan, St. Pierre, and Dull Lungren.

Kyokushin took Karate to the next level yet preserved its traditions!

I have to admit, I do grappling, and the leg sweeps in karate excite me, especially the ones he shows at 9:30 ish
Dang karate was rough back then. Even now too

I think this was when kiokushinkai was evolving. Looks more like hardocore traditional karate
Karate Shindokan Irapuato Mushin Dojo that's the way it's supposed to be

This looks more like Kyokushin!! Was wondering wtf was going on in the first video...
極真カラテ🔥🔥🔥🔥
三浦美幸も大山茂も若いですね。
大山泰彦や山崎照朝なども居ましたが、この頃なら芦原英幸が一番強かったのではないでしょうか?
Talking about hardcore competition even the referee beat the shit out of the players at 1:38
This is the fighting black kings 2
LOL, OSU, our Shihan used to do that in weight training class!
Who was the fighter on the stretcher? Did he live?
6:13...let the man do his weights god damn it!
I believe it is just kyokushin Oyama wanted to make the film focusing on kyokushin sorta as an advertisement.
1:38 what is going on here. Referee is beating him up?
Anyone know what year this was?
Paulo miyao in kiokushin.
Bunch of sadists!!
10:11 i don't know if they're actually wearing hakamas.

One thing I don't get with karate is those front kicks. All your opponent need do is block with their elbow and you injure your foot (happened to me).
