I honestly really like parousing the most forgotten/unpopular dead train games I can find. There's an odd tranquility to a lot of them, given you're usually the only one there. Trying to get the glitchy machinery to work properly gives a similar feeling to trying to get a real abandoned railway working again. Also means no trolls so thats always nice.
its such a odd feeling, being in a game which once used to be filled with life and functionality now reduced to a few semi functional locomotives and all the life gone, its oddly depressing knowing that there used to be life but its replaced with quietness
6:06 This right here. This game means everything. I was playing this on a night during winter one year, and my dad came in to announce that we had a snow day tommorrow. As he said it, I drove through the tunnel and it activated this cheery winter music. Absolutely perfect.

Watching the taleland railway 2 segment brought back memories. I used to love bullying kids in the harbour by attaching the cranes to their engines and hoisting them up in the air
There used to be a train game in 2018 where you couldn’t drive trains, but a bot drove it, the stations were all doorways to different games such as ant simulator and thus fish game, I remember playing it back then, it might just be lost roblox media now
alot of these older games seem to become lost media, asking around in some discord servers seem to confirm this when people tell me it used to exist but is now gone which is pretty sad
Anyone remember these nostalgic ones? A basement full of model trains, The Arctic Central, The flying trains series, Railroad Heaven, Narrow Gauge Line by PendennisC, Mesh Trenes, Solway 1985, Primrose Narrow Gauge, Misford Valley Line, The Attic 2, Golden Days, and Simon Weyerhaauser Narrow Gauge Railroad?
Wip railway is such a nostalgic classic. I used to play it everyday. Edison left the game somewhat playable.. the trains are still broken.. but can be used by the controller to move.
yeah, tbh edison couldn't really do much about fixing it as his PC was dying as it and he didn't know how to fix the engines so he moved onto the DCC system instead.
i think some interesting "somewhat dead" games you can add in a possible part 2 would be Bloxville, Cliffside Railway and Chaningford and Isberch. they are REALLY REALLY well modelled games and I only say somewhat dead because some of them see very small player groups, other than that im pretty sure they have died out. most players going to Wedgeford Abbey.
i've seen that bloxville is more of a RP that has a dedicated group of players who join once in awhile, i was playing a server once and like 10 people including the owner joined and started roleplaying, its not fully dead
Usey, if you ever do a part 2 then I’ve got a dead narrow gauge roblox game to suggest and I used to play this game myself and that game is called “Mearoffean Slate Quarry Railway” (P.s I spelled Mearoffean wrong, I don’t think it’s spelled like that. But hey.) So yeah
WIP Railway used to be one of my favourites. Personally, I think the poor performance is currently caused by too many trains spawned slowing the physics. Some potential fixes include: replacing spawners with ones that have the train not spawned by default, modifying the drive system to set network ownership to the driver, streamingEnabled, etc. I don't think that would fix all the trains, since I remember some of the steam engines running badly before everything broke. Another game I really missed was GrandContinentalRailways. The old map was very compact and dense, with lots of scenery everywhere. All the trains being in a tighter loop would make it easier to rp as a passenger. When they upgraded to the new, larger map, I stopped playing, since it took longer to get anywhere and the map felt too empty. I don’t know how it's doing now tho as I haven't played recently.
It's almost dead because trolls and almost all the original people are gone and just in general not good updates and hardly any updates that people like
5:44 what actually happened to Reaper? I remember a few years back collaborating on his sugar bois game as i was modelling a freelance diesel mechanical switcher, i progressed to the poimt of importing it into Roblox Studio from Blender. Now his discord server is dead with no activity
As someone who has Mostly Played Older Roblox Games in my time. (since when i joined i mostly Played the Older games back in 2017 and 2018 because i am a older Player) i actually enjoyed playing those Games, Including 4.8 Railway and NGH, and The WIP railway. Im actually pretty sad that they didnt Get updated in so long and Roblox being stupid for The Physics Updates and sound Update. But Hey atleast Wip Railway is Getting fixed right guys? Speaking of old Roblox games tho the Older Version of GCR 2018 actually has a legacy Edition, I recommend you lot search it up
i consider 2.1 and 2 to be completely different games purely due to the fact that 2.1 is much better looking that 2 and it changed some stuff up from 2

i've heard of the attic and solway but none of the rest, i will certainly be checking them out
