Even without all those things she should be able to pull off performing her hits better. What I mean is rehearse more and maybe hire a vocal coach. A vocal coach can teach you vocal control and technique and you then know which notes you can and cannot sing live at a particular moment. There were too many notes she should have skipped instead of singing off tune.

Ummm NO she has Always shown confidence in her dancing & performances. This actually isn’t half as good as she usually is or used to be during her Live performances

If you ask any professional dancer or singer about performing live they will describe anxiety to you but actions speak louder than words. Amerie is a good dancer and that anxiety she described in interviews is natural stage fright every performer has. We (the audience) SEE the performance and base opinions off of that NOT the artist's mental thoughts that only they know.

It’s been like that for her for quite some time tbh. Her last solid vocal performance was Soulquarius in 2017, after that it went down so bad and being such a massive fan of hers, it sucks to see. Even on her first televised performance in years (Rule The World on the ellen show with 2chainz in 2019) she sounded so incredibly off. Here she sounds bad to me too. Almost as if she smoked a pack of cigarettes before hopping on stage and that’s the case with pretty much all of her recent performances. Love her so much but idk what’s going on sometimes.

You gotta put in WORK you gotta put in HOURS just for a successful 4-minute performance. Train train vocal breathing etcetera like the shit is not easy. You hold people's attention span for only but so long, not many artist can come and go as they please.
I'm glad someone else said it because I don't like to say things to be mean or rude but I also don't like to lie because I like a certain artist. You literally said what I was thinking. This performance was not it. As a fan I would have been disappointed to pay and stand in the heat for this.

She just needs to re condition her vocals to the physical dancing. I hear it’s extremely hard to do. It’s just like singing and doing a HIIT cardio workout at the same time. 🏃🏽♀️🤸🏽♀️
Some of these ppl have no stage presence and they don't practice. In the studio there's so many things that can be done to make you sound perfect but for most it's just not reality...
