    I hope you continue to look at art to help you understand and gain a more sophisticated eye. I am sorry but you have read Joan Mitchell's painting incorrectly. I find her work to be beautiful and harmonious. She lived in Paris and was very influenced by the impressionists. I suggest you read about her online and it might help you enjoy her work more. She was one of the very few women abstract expressionist artist. Good luck

      Richard Lund just because you find it harmonious doesnt mean someone else cant find it disharmonious, and it definitely doesnt make their opinion wrong

      I agree. It may look like a hot mess to someone who does not understand abstract art. I find that piece beautiful and harmonious too. I love abstract art, I get lost in it.

      I'm sorry but you are a snob, different people find different things in art. So get off your high horse.

      @@shannonstrong573 l find her reaction to Mitchell's big, beautiful painting (or 'waste of canvas') a bit extreme, especially when speculating about the state of the artist's mind. Nobody sounds snobbish - if anything l wish she had been more temperate in her own response, which in itself could be construed as being snobbish.

    In that first abstract painting, I immediately saw a woman dancing in a blue dress wearing a red hat. Isn't it funny how we all react differently to art. 😊

    • @Wrathinside
      @Wrathinside 8 років тому +3

      No, that aint funny. You can see Jesus in coffee, Grim in tea and constellations among the stars.
      But that is not art. That's imagination. I can take a piss on the snow and call that abstract painting? Please, accept it in the museum. I can close my eyes, spill the paint on paper and request an award. Or I can ask my kid to take his best guess as drawing - and send it up for university validation.
      Abstract can be recognized as a poor man's, beginner's level of painting, rudimentary, compensating for the lack of ability.
      But to put this shit in a museum? Yep, modern art. Hey, have you listened to PPAP? That's right up your alley.
      Understand the difference between skill and imagination. One can be a Picasso or Bob Ross... or even Mrs. Haying. They all at least try to present something.
      Abstract painting, on the other hand, is an attempt to challenge your imagination, instead of presenting art. And that's something for 2$ journal to buy at the store, along with coloring books and comics, rather than to be qualified as an "art".

    I also find that this art style is more expressive and expresses emotions and feelings. The messy looking ones may look gross and strange, but I agree she is expressing her struggles, damaged life and confusion. Thank you again for this video, one of my favourites.

    Your description of Jackson Pollack is so interesting. I have been fascinated with his art since the first time I saw his work in London when I was 16. As you said, I find beauty in his painting. I see so much pattern, so much skill, so much heart, so much self, it is the story of art and the story of life. But how did he do this with random paint? This to me is the real beauty as this is life - we try to make pattern and control, but it is all random. I would love to hear more of what you think of this. Anyway, I hope you have a beautiful day!

    Unless your an actual painter specifically looking at techniques and such there isn't almost anything your going to learn from looking at paintings like this. If your actively studying about the artists who painted those specific paintings from an art history perspective then u might get some knowledge out of it.

      @PiscesEmpress1978 the entire world is becoming narcissistic. People online totally anti social and yet continually and obsessively seeking validation from people they don't know. It's not just this woman. It's the effect that cell phones are having on society. It's terribly sad.

  • @Bearwithme560

    New here. I find your voice so soothing, but your titles can be misleading. Here you start out whispering, but by the end you got so excited you were almost hyperventilating! Passion and whispering aren't quite compatible. Just my opinion. But many of the ones you have labelled as asmr are full of unexpected loud crashes, inconsistent noise levels, etc. It's almost as if you labelled them "asmr" in retrospect. Otherwise, very interesting.
