Origen was one of the brightest, if not the brightest, shooting star of lcs history. Whoever had the pleasure to watch their climb from zero to hero, defying all odds, especially during worlds, knows he was looking at a sport miracle. Watching Peke play tf, anivia and orianna, playing his own meta vs all the other world class midlaners, styling on them when he was considered one of the worst player in worlds, was a blessing. Whoever witnessed this team, as short as their light bright, knows that it was one of the best cinderella story in all compettitive scene, one that probably will never be forgotten. At least, i will never. Thx Origin for all the emotion you made me feel and goodbye. (i might have made a lot of mistakes but i am not a native speaking english)
Xpeke was one of the games most "cerebral" players. He knew how to play the players and get inside their heads (ie: Fnatic Bush, the Xpeke backdoor, Baron fakes, etc). It's sad to see him retire.
You dont know how emotional I got when I watched this. I'm a xPeke fan since season 1. I remember every. single. game. When I saw that Orianna 4 man shockwave, I just started shouting even though I know its from the past. I had goose bumps for 26 minutes and teary eyes. I know this sounds edgy, but xPeke and Faker are the only players I will ever acknowledge as true legends. Great video. 10/10. Thanks for the emotional ride.
@@wabbajack8283 but he has a solid team behind him. xPeke was an amazing player and in my opinion he's better than Faker. A lot of people don't know this cause they haven't seen xPeke play.
Man its sad, last time I saw xPeke was when he played support. I really want him to play again, he isn't too old but can't say much about his current skill level. But really do miss seeing him play...
I think the age is indeed a problem in this sport. To compete with the very best you just need extremely good micromanagement and reflexes. And sadly both decrease with age. Beeing 17 or 25 makes a huge difference at that level. Experience and strategy also play its part ofcause but if you get mechanicly outclassed thats a huge problem. In my opinion you can also see this with other long time pro players. Many of them just couldnt keep up mechanicwise with the fresher talents. Even Faker isnt what he used to be. Hes still a solid and reliable midlaner for his team and has great decisionmaking. But the times he just smashed his opponents by raw skill are gone. Ofc there are other things to take in account as well like metashift and the growing pro scene. But in the end the human body and brain just become slower with age and in an environment where you need to be faster then your opponent (also other sports like basketball, (especially lightweight) martial arts, football, etc.) thats a biological barrier you just have to accept at some point.
undersepp Not really since you can build your body to stop this. Considering that he's only average in health and all if he trained maybe he could fix this problem.
You cant train your body to stop ageing. Maybe you can slow down the process but time will come for everyone sooner or later. And even if it was possible, it would still lead to a major disadvantage against younger players since he also had to do that special antiageing training while the others can focus completely on improving their gameplay.
undersepp Actually you can the two greatest footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi both have become very old 33 and 36 (I think but they are both in their 30s) yet they both have the body age of a 20-26 year old. I didn't say you can stop ageing I said you could build your body to prevent yourself from getting slower reaction speeds. Since these footballers also needs reaction speeds to their dribbles and ect. They can do this against 25 years old defenders and below and above. It's because no LCS player is fit they are average with the rest being overweight or obese.
This was such a throwback video and it was very emotional! I think the ending was incredible, but the closer "thanks for watching" was too abrupt and took away from the emotional impact of the video. I think you should only have that closer on videos that don't detail the emotional stories of players, rather, it should be inserted at the end of less emotional videos. That's just one dumb UA-cam commenters opinion anyways. :P Regardless, this was a very well done video! Thank you for putting his LCS story together!
xPeke is probably one of the reasons why League became so big in Europe. His fanbase here is still so big, if he started a new org today, he'd gather a big following within days. I remember back when the rumor spread about Origen, people went crazy. With crazy I mean legit crazy. They literally stalked any social media 24/7 for any further confirmation and flodded his Twitter etc. He's by far the bigest fan favorite League of Legends probably ever had.
Dammit theScore esports quit making me cry with all the heartfelt and emotional content. 10/10 would engage in this masochistic but wonderful experience again.
Watching the "xPeke" Backdoor still makes me cry and spill some tears. A legend alive, thanks for all the great moments sir, you were, you are and will be my idol. Great montage, great player.
Same, back when I played (S1-3) I would use his strat to climb the ladder. almost nobody expected it from a regular Competitive match. worked 8/10 times I played. always stating "xPeked" in all chat as I stole a win. good times in LoL..
Great video but one nitpick is that in Season 1, xPeke was not a top laner. People didn’t play specific lanes as they did certain champions. A good example is that across the span of S1 Worlds, Dyrus on Epik Gamer played Singed top, Soraka support, MF bot lane, and other things that escape me right now. The way teams strategized then is very different from now. Peke was a Mage player and Fnatic preferred to have a Mage in both top and mid lane, and while he mostly played in top lane, he did so due to the champions he played and the teams strategic preference, and played in mid lane depending on matchup. Again roles were not yet so well defined and a player was not a “top laner” as much as he played a lot of champions that happened to work best in top lane. Solidified lane positions would become more mainstream after S1 Worlds. Phreak said a few times in S2 he was surprised players ended up specializing on lanes and not champion styles, like mages and marksman. Riot, however, as the game has gone on, has streamlined design to where lane choice and champion style are quite closely aligned.
1024 0119 yeah the absolute Joy from fnatic is awesome. I always feel bad for ocelot though, cause his team kinda just leaves him standing there breakingb
This makes me cry, i remember Xpeke as one of the best midlaners in the world and i can't just forget that. It would be amazing to see Origen with Xpeke win the world championship and I think they deserved it ... but unfortunately it did't happen. I'm sad about that he isn't playing anymore, but I understand the decision. Never forget him.. Our BIG STAR Xpeke.

The best Western player by any metric other than peak of level of play (I would give that to S2 Froggen). S1 World Champion, IPL5 Finalist, S3 Semi-Finalist, S4 well, it never happened :D and S5 Semi-finalist, winning a lot of domestic titles too. All this whilst being the best player of the respective team, or at the very least the member who showed up in the biggest fashion when it truly mattered. The Backdoor, the 1v1 vs Dade, the second comming of the 3k elo shockwave, the Kassadin-game versus c9... You can be clutch, you have players who are consistently clutch, and then there is Xpeke.
Agree with pretty much everything other than peak, which i would give to Forg1ven on 2016, which he came out with any matchup vs any guy whicever game his team oriented, which was mostly feed mid/top, he still came with a cs lead.
Froggen was at one point literally the best player in the World, roughly around the period of OGN Summer 2012, until Toyz and later Weixiao at respecively Worlds S2 and IPL5 took that honour. No other Western player was able to reproduce that, not even Forg1ven. Febiven's 2015 Worlds and Caps at last MSI were more impressive than Forig1ven's 2016 Worlds btw. xPeke was the only reason i continued playing league. His backdoor play made me spam kassadin on ranked, his OP viktor solo q’s had me intrigued to play viktor, his orianna quadra made me an orianna main and damn did his lucian destroy most bot lanes.
xPeke, the man that single handedly made esports a big thing, might be due to his playing but i do think that his looks mattered alot aswell, he is the esports poster boy. forever!
I used to play lol around 2014-2016, my laptop was trash but I played regardless. I didn't know lcs players until near the end of 2015 but when I did find out about lcs, this guy really stood out, being from EU as well this guy really was a pleasure to watch and listen to due to his calm down to earth personality. Death that's cuz he doesn't need to
William Mark but he can't reach level of thinking. This is why xpeke is rated so much.

And eventually, be forgotten
xPeke is probably the only pro league player I enjoyed watching back then.
Still one of the best mid lane players EU has ever seen he played everything and his Orianna was bonkers. Would love to see OG come back thou all the players went to other teams still OG good dame it made me believe in EU and xPeke a god mid.
The most sympathic player LoL has ever seen.
holy, the feels, great video man
Damn, I really want to see him play the game again. Hope there will be some event showing old stars of LoL in the future. Just want to see at least 1 game of him.
Imagine being so legendary Your name is still being used as the line for backdooring in 2020

Great video! Well done!
Some people will remember him for the backdoor. I'll remember him for the "This Nidalee is too tanky" after missing every single skillshot on Xerath.
El grande de los grandes de habla hispana :) La leyenda del backdoor...
xPeke el puto amo.
