- Prince Harry surprised everyone by showing up at an NFL award ceremony in Las Vegas on Thursday evening. This unexpected appearance came right after his quick trip across the Atlantic to visit his father King Charles after revealing a his cancer diagnosis.
The 39-year-old royal took to the stage to present an award and cracked a joke about the US adopting rugby, saying, "You stole rugby from us and made it your own."
After flying from Los Angeles to London on Monday night, Harry had a brief 30-minute reunion with his father at Clarence House on Tuesday. He then jetted back home overnight on Wednesday, without any contact with his brother, William, the Prince of Wales, with whom he's currently estranged.

The National Football Leage (NFL) Man of the Year award is one of the most prestigious and meaningful that the NFL gives out, bcause it is awarded not only for a players on field excellence, but for their endeavors and work off the field too. Work they do in either their adopted NFL city or in their home communities. Prince Harry should not have been asked to present it. I assume he has no real knowledge of American football, the NFL, or any of the players. This award should have been given out by someone that NFL players respect and admire. At a minimum, someone who is a positive influence in the NFL world should have been the presenter.

Notice how the laughter of the crowd drops off with every smart - arse comment comparing American football to Rugby until there is barely a laugh at the last remark shown. He turns up to present an award and just pokes fun at the national game of his host country. The intention was probably to promote himself rather than belittle them, but it came across so badly. I doubt the audience understood the rugby references, such as passing forward etc and most have probably never watched a rugby match. (for those who don't know, the ball is only passed sideways or backwards in rugby - if you want to know more, see if you can watch some of the all blacks games when Jonah Lomou was playing. There is nothing like it).

The ceremony wasn't vulgar--having Harry there was, and especially as a presenter.
This is NOT a vulgar ceremony. It's an awards show for NFL players, which in this country means something. Cam Heyward won the Walter Payton man of the Year award, a HUGE honor for an NFL player because it's about the GOOD things they do off the field, and who is the world talking about ? Cam Heyward? No Prince Harry. One of the past winners of this award was JJ Watt, who during Hurricane Harvey raised about $37 million dollars to help with relief efforts. This is the one of the most prestigious awards in sports, and it is NOT vulgar.
I do think he meant vulgar for having Prince Harry attend.
