@@gregh3729 because you removed the god damn filter!, that's why it's there... the near IR looks puble ish... so removing the filter makes all your footage look purple. If you want to fix it you need to adjust it with a video editing software and adjust the HUE, it's not going to look as good as with a filter, but you chose to remove it to gain night vision.
have you tried surrounded that webcam with iR light and then try facing that ir camera through desktops, boxes, objected, housing cases etc to make x ray..... or even an emission of low wave length lower than 650nmm for the iR Light
Yes, not x-ray but it does see through some fabrics as I write about in my blog post that this video was made for: phyzblog.blogspot.com/2018/09/making-invisible-waves-visible-near.html
no, this is near IR, not close enough to IR to see heat. The way you can tell that this would not be useful is the fact that when he points it at the lights or him self you don't actually see "the hot stuff" , when he points it at himself you only see the refelcted near IR light lighting him up, if it was IR his eyes would glow brightly. Also the remote control test would look black in IR, since the remote control is not actually warming up the $20 bill.
I successfully removed mine from my c270 with heat and a little bit of brute force but I ended up with a lot of debris on the ccd, and I never got the lens back in focus.
iPhone will have an IR filter but its irrelevant. The iPhone is filming the laptop screen which is giving off visible light not IR, so the image is not affected.
The only way to know for sure is to open it up. Some have an IR filter that easily pops out, some are attached more tightly, others are coated on the lens. Pay close attention as you open it so you know how to put it back together. Taking a video can help.
Dude that was a terrible video, your info is great but your filming skills are awful. Your hands fell out of view, didn’t need to watch you reassemble the thing fast forward next time, and then you had very few examples of what it can do.... you seem very smart and next time use a tripod for filming, keep what your doing in the field of view and since you demonstrated how to take it apart there is no need to demonstrate re-assembly and more examples of the video, however I love that you didn’t add music to your video, too many people add music that is too loud, too annoying and its so 1990. Comments on youtube good and bad are good for your channel, great info thanks again.
this is how you get good daytime UFO footage so I hear.
I removed the ir blocking filter from my 1st phone I got. Excited to see how it turns out after I get a replacement battery.
Friend, if you heat a knife or afertar blade, you will take it out of the buckets. or with heat gun
Can you do without the negative film? Like if you want colors and IR together?
Yes I'm doing it now for night vision security
@@AgentOffice night vision how?
@@iprofox3758 remove the ir filter and add ir lights
But my camere look purple anyone know why

Trick with pencil and hammer is so awesome! Not very efficient, but this one of the way, yeah.
For removing the IR filter. Would warming up the glass with a soldering iron loosen the glue enough to pry it out?
I would try prying it out gently first but warming it up would be a good alternative. A hair dryer might work and not be as hot.

As other have asked, but was not answered... Would this be helpful (good enough) to find hot, faulted components on a PCB board?

Will this work to find shorted components that beat up on circuit boards. Rather than buying an expensive FLIR camera?
Thats what I was thinking. Waiting for his reply.
No for themperature control you need long infrared
Thanks for this, just opened my logitech c270 and it looks like the filter is on the ccd chip :(

@@kieranblazier4058 Hey, do you happen to know the name of a spare ccd for c270? Couldn't find it mensioned anywhere
lol i think the negative exposed slightly whilst you were holding it in ur hand
Thank you sir it was very helpful.
Hi sir, when we remove this IR filter, what is the exact wavelength range of our camera?
Maybe out to about 1000 nm.
Yes, up to around 1000 nm, or possibly more. Just remember that the UV range will stay the same, and will not go any deeper into the spectrum.
You need a spudger, sir. But great video thanks for the help!
13:56 you're filming this through your Iphone ... does your Iphone camera also have an infrared filter?

I have this web cam. I can't wait to tear it apart!
Can this be done on nexigo webcam?

Tank you but i have a problem... why my camre look purple
I used slide film for this it's much darker and a single piece will do.
Can I connect this camera to my iphone? If yes, then how do I do it?
U should be able to y would need a usb c to usb a female otg cord if you have a Android
