Season 3 will contain a war arc but that will not be the whole season, before and after we have quite a bit. Just a lot of people don't like the war part so they clown on it and call everything that comes after the war arc. In terms of action, it's not that heavy. Not much fighting of the war is shown in the manga. I'd say it has around the same amount of action season 2 has
Truly one of the greatest shows of our time, and honoured that I get to live in a time where it was produced. Never have I cried more watching a show than in Vinland Season 2. On the topic of MAPPA providing action resources to Season 2 I feel besides the lack of staff due to other projects it could be attributed to there not being that many action KAs in-house at MAPPA. I really feel that one of their biggest downsides is that they carry a freelancer army as opposed to various super KAs in-house. Though if we're talking about CG work then it is easy to say that they have an army of incredible 3D artists. PS: An upload soon after a prior one??? I love me some surprises
Because tons of big KAs perfer to be freelancers. And they are a New studio too, when they started Training newbies, it's gonna take a while (if not others Join them). Also i don't know if wit actually has much in-house action animators either. Also they still lack in compositing department and CGI department (idk yet about background department). While Mappa has all of them in-house if I'm not wrong. So yeah
Yeah but they should def try to push for more In-house KA talent and just overall build up the in-house talent for the 2D department as the Seshimo train can only take you so many places. Great video man, one question how long did it take for it to complete excluding per-production,so basically when the full production began ? like 9months-1 year, and if let's say it was action heavy how much more time would it would have required ? It's related to a tweet he made 3-4 years ago answering the question of why, contrary to other animators of his level he basically works for every Anime he can for. It has sono been a year since my disappearance from Twitter, but sadly I remember him eliminating the conversation the last time I checked sadly. But... Maybe because The schedule isn't as bad. Also JJK had much more big KAs and talent behind it. Some guesses can made here and there. Like i think episode 5 was in production at December 2022.
14:39 The number of storyboards made by a director IT'S NOT representative of the amount of time he had to work on a production Let's take Tokyo ghoul Re as an example : it's common knowledge that it had the worst schedule of any TG Anime, right? But the it also had it's own director that solo storyboarded all it's 24 eps (+ both the 2 OP and ED) in a row. So that should mean that, according to your belief in reality the schedule was good right? No, not at all
You're completely ignoring production conditions of shows and simply taking details out of context. Tokyo ghoul re had terrible quality storyboards. It obviously takes little time to just rip off manga panels and put them in the anime in a much inferior way, even for one person. Whereas take an example like Dorohedoro where every shot was uniquely composed, where again, Hayashi storyboarded the whole show. Clearly it was because he had a good schedule that he was able to have such a high quality and quantity of output. Yabuta's storyboards are of high complexity, and the fact that he was able to do more of it for S2 goes hand in hand with the better schedule.
@@-MankoMan uhhm no, there is also to consider the speed of the storyboarder, if he is working on other Anime while storyboarding his own series and such Then, complexity of yabuta storyboards... Yes, but mostly no considering that his SB are what I call a "Colonoscopy" (sadly a reality for many directors of the new generation). But it's perfectly understandable that he's still not that well refined in SB. After all he stared his career as a photographer, then after just a few years he became a cgi animator and a cgi director (a really mediocre one, even for MadBox standards). He has never been an animator and this in my opinion is what still makes him a hit or miss storyboarder Then
@@lorenzorizzi864 Aah yes, "speed of storyboarder". I guess that's why Hayashi wasn't able to work nearly as much for aot final compared to Dorohedoro. Not because the schedule for aot was much worse than Dorohedoro, but Hayashi's speed was magically reduced in the span of a year. Also idk if you're blatantly disrespecting Yabuta as a bait comment or if you're truly so far gone that you believe yourself to be far superior to these artists such that you can afford to talk crap about them on a scale that goes far beyond just "criticism". Either way you're not coming out looking good, buddy.
@@-MankoMan I'm not disrespecting him, I also had the pleasure to talk with him various time on Twitter around 1 year ago. I'm just saying what I believe about his overall skill (that I repeat, are perfectly understandable for someone that entered the industry as a photographer and that switched position shortly after)
@@-MankoMan if we compare aot the final season p1 to dorohedoro, then he clearly chose to work more on second one. About part 2... He only made 6 SB for it (basically nothing for his standards) while for part 1 he SB 11 eps out of 16. So according to what you said Part 1 had a better schedule than part 2 It's hilarious just to write it. Part 3 (part 1) wasn't fully storyboarded by him. Does that mean that the schedule of it was bad? No, he just decided to jump on kakegurui and making 3 SB in a row , because after all he liked to work on the previous 2 seasons of it. After all it's an Anime about gambling and you know, Japanese(especially around their 50s like hayashi seems to be) like gambling in whatever form it is.
I think that the storyboard artist just makes the storyboards, basically the main framing of the scene. The episode director probably has a hand in the entire production for a given episode (as in supervise every department), probably also does animation corrections other than storyboards, but I think has less power than the series director.
Ohh it's just, I've seen storyboards for episodes so it felt like he is the most important part in directing an episode,so i thought what does ep director supposed to do😅😅.
@@Gv_rdhan thats why the storyboarder is often the same as the episode director. when they are not the same, the episode director determines how the storyboards will be translated into animation in a creative way

Not to mention the insane connections that they have (jigo would've probably looked very good it it had a better schedule, they putted a shit ton of people on it)
@@A1000-b9s yeah hp had shit tone of people thrown in
While I hope season 2 gets a better schedule. And I seriously wonder how people are very positive about hp but these same people bashed the shit out of csm, just retards tbh.
And mappa being formed in the early 2000s is doing far better than more established studios, heck even vinsant or Chris( I don't remember) said on Twitter about how they got contacted at the last moment, cracking production at toei? Maybe or maybe not
A few more years of grind and they will be as stable as ufo and kyoani while being bigger then them in number of staff and quantity of shows while mentioning comparable or even better in some aspects shows
Otsuka San is onto some big stuff, isn't he?
Damn that gets me excited 😆
@@gamerboyrax2222 2011. I can say it started since 2016. they will probably be like Pro I.G. I always try to keep my expectations at Middle. To see good and bad sides and don't get too excited. Something like this requires a good amount of time and money (while yes Mappa's growth is abnormal). It still takes a good amount of time. But from What we can see, they are actually going in that way, from Their actions and manabu's recent interview. Why we see even gosso work in-house in Mappa?
Bet you've been enjoying doing that video
I'm not sure I'd count MAPPA as too new, they're over a decade in the industry now but obviously compared to a lot of the studios they're babies.
@@A1000-b9s
@@lebyandsmartiel318obviously I'm comparing them to big studios. A decade is still pretty new. It's just that Mappa's growth is abnormal lmao. Looks like they are Extremely working on douga artists and also 2KAs (you can see a lot of 2KAs like on JJK) that probably is a part of nakayama's Training. Some of them might be working in-house on Mappa
nice video never realized how many great animated cuts s1 has
and I'm not sucking up map balls, but without them we might not have an S2. What other studio would pick up Vinland Saga? Wit gave up on the project, it sure wasn't perfect, but maybe it's the best we could get
Maybe on the action
Hope for Gear 5 video

Would you like to make a video on Pluto the anime pls?
Can you please make video on hunter x hunter 2011. Because I can’t find anything about on Sakuga booru (may do ep 126)

Yutapon...
@@carloscauan7967I hate to break it to you, but Yutapon has drawn an official end card for Onimai.
Yessir manko man video
So they pulled off this quality without "raw animation power", kinda sick to be honest
Say without is pretty bad. They did had Raw Animation Power but not nearly as much as Mappa's high IPs. But The schedule was enough for those people to carry the action. Not to mention that they Received a shit ton of help from Mappa in Terms of douga artists and animation directors
Great video man, one question how long did it take for it to complete excluding per-production,so basically when the full production began ? like 9months-1 year, and if let's say it was action heavy how much more time would it would have required ?
Lastly,, when are most KA done with their cuts timeline wise like 3 months before an episode airs usually on average ?
Can you discuss what TF is in the water over at One Piece lately?!
which website can I get information about the staf of an anime pls? btw good video Manko

Can we get a hayashi video
wow, so fast
Nice
Otsuka may be to greedy and crazy by catching so much anime, but mappa didn't getting cash for last 4 years (except csm, tondemo) means he did it for fans mostly
No one of Mappa shows sold too much blu ray ofc
Vinland 700💀 all aot sold 2.500~
Think about it. Because The studio and in-house departments are expanding in an abnormal pace. They make a shit ton of money. Blu-ray dosen't even make a lot money anyway. Even in japan
bro blu ray isnt the main source of income anymore. and who told u aot s4 only sold 2500?
The reason is they sell the blu-ray on their website which does not show up in oricon data, Btw borth vinalnd and aot blu-rays are sold out on their website
Please tell me how do you know about any studios production schedule
By reading the info about production posted by people who have more knowledge than me, like purplegeth, Kvin etc.
@@-MankoManso you don't actually have an opinion of your own, you just take for granted whatever those freaks say?
Kvin it's the same freak that in a group chat (inside there were other people, like the Italian assistant animation producer FAR) said that he wished that Mappa burned instead of Kyoto Animation and that he despise the direction of Csm only because Nakayama made it under Mappa. He wanted it in one of his favorite studios like Shaft.
I still have to figure it out why he and the rest of the "important" sakuga freaks on Twitter have such a grudge against... An animation studio 😂
@@-MankoMani think it's the best to see What the staff working on the Show says or have any complain about The production
@@A1000-b9sa thing that make me laugh, it's that sakugafreaks judge the production of Csm on weds Tanaka said before the airing of ep 9... But ignoring the fact that he is the only Super Animator that currently works in far more productions that he should and is known why (or it would better to say :" it was known why").
It's related to a tweet he made 3-4 years ago answering the question of why, contrary to other animators of his level he basically works for every Anime he can for.
His response was strict but pretty hilarious ; he basically said, that sadly many Japanese men of his age he's addicted to gambling, especially pachinko and Mahjong, so he needs to work more than he should in order to substain his bad abit.
It has sono been a year since my disappearance from Twitter, but sadly I remember him eliminating the conversation the last time I checked sadly.
But... Perfectly understandable since it would probably ruin knowing he's a hard gambler despite it being an extremely popular problem not only in Japan, but in general in the whole north-east and south east Asia
@@lorenzorizzi864 LMAO. I think because tanaka was also the episode director for onimai 8# at that time, and also working on other things. That's probably why he was standing up
Do you think that Vinland Saga season 2 beats anime like OPM season 1 and CSM season 1?
In Terms of Animation (movement). The whole VS is not even close to these two (obviously because of insanely detailed Character Designs) and there is no need for it
No not close
I have a question if jjk doesn't have adequate time for production then how does it look so good but when my hero academia has a separate studio dedicated through out its entire production and they may not have enough time for 24-25 episode but still they have more time than the jujutsu kaisen but still jjk looks better
Maybe because The schedule isn't as bad. Also JJK had much more big KAs and talent behind it. Some guesses can made here and there. Like i think episode 5 was in production at December 2022.

The number of storyboards made by a director IT'S NOT representative of the amount of time he had to work on a production
Let's take Tokyo ghoul Re as an example : it's common knowledge that it had the worst schedule of any TG Anime, right?
@@-MankoMan uhhm no, there is also to consider the speed of the storyboarder, if he is working on other Anime while storyboarding his own series and such
Then, complexity of yabuta storyboards...
He has never been an animator and this in my opinion is what still makes him a hit or miss storyboarder
Then
@@lorenzorizzi864 Aah yes, "speed of storyboarder".
So according to what you said Part 1 had a better schedule than part 2
It's hilarious just to write it.
Yeah wits in-house animators for s1 did an incredible job on the action, that’s what was missing in s2(I still loved it tho)
In-house or just like to work in wit?
Overall s2 is an improvement definitely to s1
@@A1000-b9s both and yes the art was more consistent in s2
@@chrisrey0018compositing, no god awful CGI models. And more delivering direction wise
@@A1000-b9s I liked s1’s compositing more imo. They had less time than s2 so cgi was expected for an action packed season.
What's a douga artist? I've heard the term douga but idk what it means in this context
in betweeners
Can u tell what's the difference between storyboard artist and episode director, like how they work
I think that the storyboard artist just makes the storyboards, basically the main framing of the scene.
