@Mongoose 1980 Not necessarily there are tour groups and guides also you can take the bus. There are many options
My family and I were in Merida in the summer of 2019 and we had a rented minivan. The van broke down in el centro, near paseo de montejo at night. We were blocking traffic and everything. The police came up and asked what was wrong, helped me put the van out of the way, and called us a tow truck. They came and had us get in the van and we rode back to the Airbnb while being towed. Cost us 500 pesos. I was very impressed by the difference in the way we were treated by the police compared to the states, especially as a person of color.
Thanks for sharing your story! Yes that is very common here and how things are handled on a regular basis. You should check out the video I made recently talking about the cops out here in Mexico and the huge difference between them and what we have back in the states.
"Get on the tour bus" ... Dude you make me laugh !
Glad I could help with a chuckle!
Great bike ride... Do more long rides like this. CYA soon
For sure!
Thanks for the ride
Thanks for coming along!
While living in Florida I rarely used my truck because I bicycled everywhere.
I had bags, a backpack, a rack with panniers and often carried 30 to 40 pound loads of groceries the 5 miles between Walmart and my home.
No problemo.
Awesome!
where in Florida??
I thought you were going to see about buying a used car but you never got there I was interested in seeing the price of older used cars or scooters and motorcycles please do an episode about that
Sorry to disappoint, but you can see all those prices for yourself in the local facebook marketplace. That is where everyone buys and sells anything, especially cars.
What's up jose great bike like always really enjoy them , cheer bro
Thanks Broski
What camara do you recorded this? Great vid
Thanks! It's a GoPro Hero 7
Get a VW bug they are cheap to run and fix, no expensive computers and electronics and in Mexico they made them into the 2000s .
Yeah I am considering them. Basically looking for the cheapest most efficient option. Stay tuned to see what I end up getting!
Aren't there any bike shops that handle ebikes?
Maybe there should be?
I'm a bike mechanic who knows this stuff.
Maybe I make that a business?
How do you get things shipped to you there?
Yeah man all great questions. But yeah you could fill a need there and start a shop. How do i get things shipped? DHL FedEx UPS and others. Anything but the Mexican Mail Service.
I know you'd love a VW bug...
Yup they look so awesome!
@@JoseArteagaTravels My girlfriend of many years; the only car she ever owned was a VW Bug. As we can see, they're still running - worldwide.
@@JoseArteagaTravels How much do they cost in Merida?
@@BobbyinPSP1 pretty cheap around 1-2 thousand dollars
I need to know what do they use in Merida for craigslist. What is the most popular exchange of goods or services app? Please and thank you Jose.
Great question! Shirt answer Facebook Marketplace
We’re a family of 6...with the youngest child being 7. What would you advise in that instance?
Rent a Van! Many options for that. And you don't need anything except your driver's license
How does Mexico determine what is considered a scooter or a motorcycle? Also, do I need an endorsement on my driver's license to ride a motorcycle there?
I have no idea. All you need is your driver's license
Umm, you know, and like again, and all the other stuff, like I said. Umm, you know, no car, and again, like all of that.
ok!
Get a Beetle, there cheap, reliable, good on gas, & easy to repair.
Yes I was thinking about doing that but various mechanics warned me it might not be such a good idea due to the extreme heat out here and the motor being in the trunk directly exposed to the heat/sun. Still trying to figure out my best option
Motorcycle?
Yes Motorcycles same rules for purchase as cars and mopeds
