that is so over the top and i'm blown away by the way the wood transitions shades but with the same pattern. the "swirl" built into it. and even the wheel chocks. you can see how it stands out from all the other plain campers there and everyone really enjoys it. thats the real meaning of art is to be able to look at it, feel good, and be immersed in it. having that in general is cool because think of how many suckers pay 100 bucks a night to sleep on a used mattress at an event like that. it's a bit small but perfect for weekend getaways.
Beautiful reconstruction work! Growing up in the 60's we had a silver .canned ham with bunk beds, a baby bed, and our parents slept on the table made into a bed. Lots of happy memories!
I think you all are crazy, but having said that, looks like 3 generations got together! Looks like the kids got a lifelong skill. I really enjoyed that. I have always been envious of skills in woodworking. Crazy amount of work, but a jewel for decades to come. Submit it to the Smithsonian Museum someday. It's worthy!
I agree, very worthy of Smithsonian, but better deserving of his children to enjoy. Never keep that special bottle of Scotch too long, you may miss the day it is finally opened.
This honestly made me cry. My dad loved wood working. Sadly he passed away when I was too young to really learn anything from him. Now my husband and I just bought a school bus to convert into a rv/skoolie and we have zero knowledge on what we are doing (he also lost his dad when he was 3) so it is really gonna be an uphill battle! I just know if my dad was here she would turn out so beautiful. So nice to see you all work together and create this piece of art. Memories to cherish forever and an amazing thing to build more memories in as the end result! Best wishes from Louisville xo
Absolutely beautiful build. Amazing attention to detail in your wok and in putting this video togither. I think it's great you where able to bring that camper back to life. Thank you for sharing your build. I hope your able to enjoy it for many many years to come.
Wow! You guys did an amazing job on this! We've got our '67 Norris down to the rotted frame, and I've been slightly anxious about going all the way down to a bare trailer, but know we have to because of the water damage. No way ours will come out this gorgeous, but your video has definitely inspired me. Thanks for putting this video together. Your camper is a piece of art!
That is beautiful! Y'all did an amazing job rebuilding this. I really like the wood. It's a show stopper isn't it. I see everyone stopping by to check it out. Congrats on the great job. I know you put a lot of time into it. That's a great additional piece you added to the outside.
I honestly believe you have the true knowledge in this arena. Im following your teachings. Sincerely... Shorty "The old U.S. Army Ranger on the push bike" (retired) as they call me in east Tennessee. P.S. Thank You
That took alot of time and money but have to say that looks amazing. You guys not just showed you can do it but showed you're boss at it great job!!! 🍺😃👍
Beautiful! Turn this into a business so I can have a can ham just for backyard fun, only. You have your first Calif customer, right here! I don’t need real wheels.
Jim and Tammy Roth Look I won't deny that you have done some beautiful work in this restoration, but just have to wonder why? The same amount of materials and effort could have gone into an original build with the same result, Or does your state not allow this without a pre-existing title??
Fecking amazing! A work of art! Ever thought of doing the same but with a larger caravan (Trailer)? Something 3 or 4 times the size? That would be bloody brilliant! Best regards from across the pond. 👍😄
About 10 years ago I built a 8 x 40 foot triple axle 1950's vintage style mobile home/travel trailer, from scratch. With very modern parts. All steel stud construction, strong yet very light. It was probably easier than what these guys done, and much cheaper I am sure.
A lot of LOVE and TLCwent into this camperwhat a great team you all are i hope you never sell itim looking for one small camer with one bedroomthats a nice one though
**A superlative 'One of One' 'Conestoga'-type travel-travel! What a beauty!** ( **that said...a 2019 '19c 'Bambi' in 'Serenity' would be my personal 'Dreamboat' for a lifetime of comfort and luxury** )
WOW this is AMAZING.. Love Your work.. TOTALLY!! How Long from start to finish. I have a 16 footer I been thinking bout redoing.. Its not a Work over like yours was, but I want it to be my very own rework as you did yours.. DAMN this is JUST AMAZING! and SOOOOO Inspiring.. GREAT GREAT WOODWORKER!!
Awesome . I just got mine moved so that I can work on it. I have never done this before but I want to live in one and I can't wait to furnish it/decorate. I wont to have a smuggle chest in the floor. I see a lot of work ahead of me. I am determined though. I have two now. One like the one you did and a 72 Skyline Layton. Even though , I can't find one online anywhere. I have so many questions. I want to turn it all to solar. And I have no idea yet how. Yet. My little one lived a lot of it's life on a barge. When you started covering the inside with that absolutely beautiful wood , I was thinking to myself I couldn't cover that up and I have beautiful fabrics and such I want to use on my walls and furniture. I have no idea why my typing wants to turn red some times. Anyway beautiful. Inside and out.
Omg, you're brave! My first thought would have been to burn it, but it I did dare take it on I'd be wearing a respirator and barf bag while cleaning it out! Lol!
Such a nice piece of art you have restored there, I have built a few teardrop campers and I m thinking of trying to build something that size, I gotta sub you
As a Carpenter I can truly appreciate and admire your work and this restoration. By far one of the best I have seen. Awesome work

Daryl Phipps thanks that means a lot to us, it was a big family project
Far too beautiful. The wheel detail cover detail is stunning.
Lovely, just lovely. You folks are true artists. Thank you for sharing.
I can see that such a project would get many admiring looks and comments. Excellent workmanship. Now you need a cedar/mahogany canoe to go with it.
Gorgeous work, I got teary eyed.
Lacie Root thank you

What an amazing job you did , and loved that you were able to reuse some of the original fixtures :)
Beautiful reconstruction work! Growing up in the 60's we had a silver .canned ham with bunk beds, a baby bed, and our parents slept on the table made into a bed. Lots of happy memories!

Kathryn Buchnowski Thank you, working with my two boys made it something we will always remember
