Yea I felt the same way and worse for Jens when he has to see one of the TUF contestants is one that he has a loss to must have been awkward your one of the coaches for the season but the other team has a member that you have fought and lost too, but Jens is always professional and seems like a good guy in real life unlike BJ who came across arrogant and like a diva at times , while Jens was just there to help the younger guys coming into the UFC.

@Fight Sport Talk Not sure about the zuffa disagreements , I know that he ended up walking away when Dana wouldn't give him a pay raise that he made a request for his new contract i think before UFC 36 or 37 but then returned a few years later when he lost to Joe louzon then did this TUF season. He will always be a legend in my books for being the UFC's first lightweight Champion(the reason he asked for a pay rise) when he defeated Caol Uno people forget that and he defended it like 3 times including beating BJ Penn by majority Decision.

This season really highlighted how much of a douchebag BJ was. From the whole "raise your hand if you don't want to be on Pulver's team" during picks to holding the choke in the finale fight and getting no flak for it, this whole season was a handjob to BJ. What other season did they bring on someone who had knocked out one of the coaches only a couple months prior? It was ridiculous. Pulver is an absolute class act and a HOF fighter for sure.

About a year after all of this, Wang began working his way up through the professional Jiu-Jitsu scene for several years before scoring the opportunity to compete at ADCC 2013. He even had a really solid, competitive match with Kron Gracie on a pro Jiu-Jitsu stage in 2009 I believe and then faced him again at the ADCC 2013. Not at all excusing/defending his behavior during his time on the show, it’s just nice to see that rather than feeling sorry for himself after his stint on the show, he bit down on his mouth piece, got his shit together, and made it to some of the biggest stages in his respected martial arts. I think he was frustrated because penn didn’t ever once talk to him about it and called him out in front of the class.

This season was great! You had the arrival of Nate Diaz, Joe Lauzon being in this season even though he beat one of the coaches already (Pulver), the Gabe Ruediger weight fiasco before his first fight was great TV, even when Andy Wang cried after losing, that was good.
TUF 5 is one of the GOAT seasons

To me it was the best too, fun, great fights and gave the UFC a lot of solid fighters for years, Nate, Lauzon, Cole Miller, Wiman, Manny, Maynard etc; Jens Pulver was a pretty cool dude and nice mentor BJ was an asshole most of the time though, so it was sad seeing him beat Pulver in the finale, man great season lot of fond memories.
