The toss encyclopedia to put it simple... 1) Fingers together / never heard this from anyone yet. Will try it though sounds logical and I just trust Nik by definition. 2) Higher toss is better then low toss. Absolutely agree!!! Still there are tons of "coaches" who ruin their student services by insisting on the low toss. There are much more those "from the one hand from the other hand". What I like with Nike advices is the clear cut opinions - this option is the best. It really helps esp kids when they are bewildered with conflicting "experts" tips. Great job Nik! Thank you! )))
So many little important micro gems in your videos Nick, I never really paid much attention to how I'm holding the ball on the toss this crystallises small but important factos that can improve the serve process. Great video!!!
Just discovered Nik's videos. I think this one (like his video on the timing of the forehand) is excellent. Lots of food for thought (and practice) here. I especially liked the points about not changing the elbow angle (bent or straight) in the middle of the toss/swing and about the tossing arm starting slowly and then accelerating. Maybe my tossing nightmares are over! Thanks, Nik!
Great tutorial. For the last 6 years I have played with a very, very, low ball toss but am now working very hard to change my serve. Not easy and needs a lot of really hard work. Your video is extremely helpful. Many thanks. Tony Costa. North Wales.UK.
Hi Nikola, always looking for good explanations and little details that make the difference. Gladly found those within your videos. Besten Dank - weiter so.
Just great video, great professor :). I must share my experience. I've had a really hart time tossing a ball with strait arm. I was bending my arm all the time. Than I realised I am using (thinking) my biceps during the toss. Now I think of my shoulder or try to throw up my arm with my upper body. I just lean forward a little and throw tossing arm up with the whole body. works great (I think :)))
Hi Nikola, you are too kind with this detailed information. There's lots of good coaches in youtube, but most of them are like advertisement to their websites for paid online lessons. That's where they keep the 'meat'. But you, you are not advertising anything to us and giving all these knowledge for free! God bless you.
Please, please do answer me! Do I need to toss the ball by palm or fingers when tossing for serve? Please, please do guide me. Thank you so much for your support!
@@IntuitiveTennis oh thank you so much for your answer but I need some clarification please:- do I need to put ball between fingers and on Palm, and toss with fingers? Please guide as somebody confused me saying to toss ball by palm but it's not possible to give direction to ball by palm. Please guide me. Thank you so much!
I always thought Goran hit the ball as ball still going up. I was like, that’s incredible. I am surprised old tennis magazines are full of mistakes and bad teachings.
Hey Nick, great lesson! I have a question about the pinpoint stance. When does the toss actually happen? Do you toss the ball while you bring your foot up? I play platform stance and that' s also because I was struggling with the timing on the toss when I was trying the pinpoint
@@IntuitiveTennis Thank you so much Nick. Yes I meant with the rocking motion. Wondering if I should toss while I bring the back foot up, before or when the feet are already close together
tennis92, I can’t answer wo seeing your serve. Depends on other factors such as your take back and overall rhythm. It should occur in the forward phase, however it works as well from a stationary position for certain players. Complex
@@IntuitiveTennis thank you so much Nick. Yeah the overall rhythm, especially the toss part was never too clear for me with the pinpoint, that's why I decided to play with a platform stance. I just found it much more immediate. Thanks again and I'll definitely keep in mind what you suggested whenever I'll try the pinpoint again 🙂🎾
My problem is incorporating the toss with my rocking motion and take back. My racket starts connected with my tossing arm but then I separate when I'm dropping the tossing arm as I'm racking back. Then when I rock forward and toss I end up with a loop as it goes down and then up that makes my toss inconsistent. How would you suggest I fix this? If I stop my tossing arm at the bottom won't it cause problems with my rhythm?

Great toss video. The "slow to fast" tip on the toss was exactly what I needed. Realized that when I was serving best, I was tossing "slow to fast".
So extremely helpful. Thank you

Omar, my pleasure and thank you
Excellent teaching.
You only hit one ball but I probably got as much or more from this video than any other. Thanks!
Thank you so so so much!
The toss is my the biggest problem.
Your information is very helpful.
One of the best coverage on the toss that I seen I my learning experience of tennis
Wow I found like 5 mistakes in my toss. Awesome video!
Just love your teaching. Excellent!
Can't play right now because it's winter, but I can watch the videos and practice the movements. Thank you.

Jo, thanks a lot. 👍👍🙏🙏
Best video on toss I have ever seen. Love how you break down the synchronization between the tossing arm at the racquet arm.
Thank you Will

Dont do it.Low toss is better than high toss.
One of the best and clearest explanation on the channel. Chapeau!
Jo, thank u
I much appreciate your wonderful work!
Please keep posting!
Thanks a lot!

Extremely detailed explanation. Excellent! I'm from Buenos Aires, all videos are great!
Ah beautiful Buenos Aires, a city with tons of great tennis players. Thank you, glad you are enjoying the videos.
Will try to implement it! I almost always have different tosses.
Terrific description of the toss. I suffer from too low and it misplaced. Thanks!
My pleasure James, glad you found it helpful
Very interesting & helpful insights Nikola .. Thank you!

Pleasant to watch!
Thanks 2Kdrive 🙏
You make great videos I look forward to watching you’re channel
good stuff
Wow... I thought my bent arm was an isolated case and weird. I had no idea Nadal tosses with his arm bent.
wow so helpful my served is getting a little bit more accurate than ever
Lito, glad to hear that
Like your full study of various players on their motion, instead of textbook motion demo. Good works!
Zheng Andre, thank you
ball toss is the hardest part I think of tennis
very detiled thank you
lots of good points on the toss/serve!
Harvey, Thank you
Great lesson. What are the shoes you are wearing in this video?
It’s the old rafa shoe, I forget the name

Hi for an absolute beginner (me), what angle should the straight throwing arm be to the body ?
Towards the net post. Diagonal
I always thought Goran hit the ball as ball still going up. I was like, that’s incredible. I am surprised old tennis magazines are full of mistakes and bad teachings.
It sure looks like that in real time

Rock, depends if you have a rocking motion or not. It should always occur in the forward phase unless you have a stationary serve.

Im 6 foot how high shoul i toss my ball?
excellent!!!!
blancpaincollector, thank you
Dolgopolov hits the ball exactly at apex, but I realize it's an exception
@maccajoe On some videos the ball drops an inch or so, on some exactly at apex. Mute point.
Roscoe Tanner didn't hit the ball on the way down
Thank you
