Thnks for doing a video aout D-Log! i always shoot in D-Log and yesterday i thought to switch to D-Cinelike for some stupid reason.... you can guess what happend now i have to go back to that location to do it all over again because the footage is turned out so bad.
Never change a winning setting, D-Log is the one and only choice to get everything out of the Mavic Pro. Russ keep it going although most of this information i already know watching you telling this makes it worth to watch it all over again! Greetings from the Netherlands!

All good dope Russ. I do all those things too. While you have the attention of a lot of people you might mention something some time. I was surprised the other night when Oz on Drone and today on Drone Valley said that the Mavic Pro does not have a zoom. It does and I got lots of feedback from people that have used the Mavic Pro for a long time and didn't know it has a zoom. Now, it is not a smooth zoom, it is a step zoom up to 2X zoom in four steps. Yes, it is not the best zoom but not as bad as Oz by drone said it is. Like any setting it is up to the pilot to use it or not. I don't often but nice to know it is there if I just need that little extra. Thanks for all you do Russ. You help a lot.
I set the C1 button (wheel) to Zoom in and out and the zoom is smooth. Not jerky like on the default setting on the 5-way button. SOB

Apart from liking your video in general, I liked the "subscribe" pop-ups or rather "fly-by"..
I use it too but i color grade with my phone ,in that using dji editor,or my movie app.

Hi just a quick question I don’t have a computer yet I am thinking of getting the IMac Pro 2017 what’s your thoughts on this... but what I do use at the moment is The DJI Movie maker will D log work on this .. thanks for sharing great Video channel...😉😎
Yes, the IMac Pro 2017 would be an awesome choice! I'm not sure if you can edit D-log with DJI Movie Maker, sorry.

What's really the best color setting though for video editing with the HD phone photage. I just don't want the hassle and time editing in premiere Pro. I use gopro quick so no option for color grading for social media posts.

yes but about dlog something wrong for me dlog use 500 iso thats make noıse if you grade strong so l like use cine like its not like dlog but its reall 100 iso dlog shadows if you grade 500iso its really make noise any way this is my prefer
I now use dlog and the free ground control lut
I edit with iMovie which has basic color editing and curious what others use for profile and style with iMovie? Would dlog be overkill?

Hi! I just use the default luts that are in Premiere Pro. Usually the Big HDR one and a couple of the Kodak ones. Then I tone them down a little. Peter McKinnon probably has the best Luts on UA-cam right now. I think they cost around $20 USD.
I just purchased Peter McKinnon LUTS for $15 USD. I will let you know what I think!
When you were talking about the rainbow square, I couldn't find it, is that a setting you have to turn on?
It's the little gray square in the upper right hand corner. As soon as you tap on it, it becomes rainbow colored. You can only see it when you have D-log toggled on.
The Smart Controller doesn’t have all those color settings what to use

Thanks for sharing this. I tried to dial in the preview to add contrast back in DLOG in the upper right corner of the screen. But it is just not showing this option. Any idea if this is related to using a little older Iphone 6s?

Ahaa... "choose true color if you do not make post editing and choose D Log for post editing". This was new for me. Is there anymore setting advice for those who don't do post editing for photos and videos?
Mikael Sanna Enroos As I advised in the first video, have your Style set to +1,0,0 and if you can, try to use a polarizing filter as that really helps boost your colors.

When you have it set to "D-log" color profile, it gives you the option to check that box to see what it would look like once it's color graded. Watch part 3 of this series to see.
What should be my ideal style numbers if I shoot in D-log?
I believe it makes no different. D-log will collect all available information, so it shouldn't matter.

My histogram will not come on. Using new Samsung s9 plus and mavic pro platinum with newly downloaded dji go 4 app. I can slide the histogram bar and it stays green, exit and go back in and it is off. Helppppp. Forums are no help.
I had the same problem for almost a year with the Mavic Pro. It has something to do with the phone. It finally was fixed after one of the updates this Summer. It's why I considered switching to IOS!

I love you brother and your channel. I however am finished dealing with dji's horrible customer service and their glitchy ridiculous firmware, software and geo fencing nonsense. I'll be getting my Evo very soon and I hope you do too!!! Dji builds an excellent drone but are a complete failure in the rest of the deal. I need my bird to fly when I need it and not when dji gets it right occasionally. They will blame you, your device, your sd cards, your calibrations, etc,etc rather than just admit that there's a glitch in the firmware or new software. It's cost them a lot of business and even more in my bad reviews from people like me who understand that they need MY/OUR money to survive. Bad decision dji!! You should have just taken care of me rather than cost yourself money and the support of happy customers. They dont quit get capitalism yet I suppose.

I think that would work fine. I don't believe you can color correct with it though. I don't know that much about it. I would shoot in TrueColor though.
