Jennifer Lopez famously brought her story to life with her breakthrough role in the film "Selena." I have just seen the movie. I thought it is imaginary story about rise and fall of one huge musical talent. Now that I have found that she actually existed and that it is in fact a real story, for me it is still one unreal experience which is even more sad. I can't imagine how family and real fans felt after that tragic event because even though I stumbled upon this on TV, I was shocked how all that talent, work, potential stopped to developed in one very fast moment. May God bless her husband, family, friends and fans and all of the people who fell in love with her as I did. She is in a better place.
That’s what hurts me the most, so I can’t imagine if strangers feel this strongly about her ending what the family feels. Just all that work, all that effort, gone in one single shot to the back. It won’t ever be right.

Amazing job JLo did. She pulled it off. I thought at first how the difference in bone structure of both Jennifer and Selena differed, would take away from Selena's Mexican facial features. But, that did not matter, since Jlo nailed all mannerisms. Spot on.
I truly believe selena would have had a net worth like JLo and shakira or much higher had she not been taken away so soon she would have been so successful

Yes she would've. Jennifer Lopez is also talented in her own unique way. She obviously can't sing nowhere near as good as Selena, but she is also a VERY intelligent business woman and that's why she's been so successful because she's managed to forge an acting, singing, dancing, and fashion career etc. all on her own. Selena had help of her family, but JLO had nobody to help her early on in her career. She's always been a driven and determined individual and even if they had never made a movie about Selena, Jennifer still would've found some other way to make it big. People only like to talk shit about her because of her personal life and that's mainly what comes to their minds when her name is mentioned, people just judge her for that but nobody is perfect. And had Selena lived I think her and Jen would be friends.

Jennifer Lopez played a great role as salina. Jennifer Lopez did salena justice in the movie that's why it's such a great movie. I would have never known who or what happened to salena if Jennifer Lopez didn't play her. I watch the movie because of Jennifer Lopez and I love them both now

. In fact most southern Europeans are darker just look at Sicilians if you look at them they have darker features almost looking like arabs. The same with other southern European countries. Even some people from welsh are darker.
Stop with the theory that Spanish colonists white washed South America. The Spaniards were already a darker complexion when they colonized and mixed with darker natives. its sad that most people lack history today. Leave history alone and let it be handled by people in over seas, seems like you are from America that lack history and have that white wash theory.
Europe is not all so called white. Almost all latinos have a mix of African, Spanish, Portuguese, and Native American. In Mexico its mainly Spanish and native but puerto rican's like JLO are mostly biracial. She is not white she might have more spanish in her but she also possibly have African and Native American. Africans when they mix with whites the white gene becomes dominant.
Many latinos that are light brown to white will take their DNA and have about ten to twenty % African and about thirty % native and the other fifty% is Spanish, Italian or Portuguese. Now that is just the lighter skin latinos. The darker ones have more native and African but all three races have dark complexion and spanish Europeans are already darker than most Europeans.

I'm going to say this because I think it needs to be said. THERE'S NOBODY LIKE JLO. NOBODY!! She didn't just merely get to where she is with the success of Selena ALONE. NO WAY! It's funny when people try to write her off like it's just so easy to be where she is LOL. As someone who's worked in the industry, I know first hand that there are LOTS of pretty latina girls with no talent trying to get to JLO's level by rubbing elbows with the right people, and it's STILL not enough. If that's all it took, THEY WOULD ALL BE AS FAMOUS AS JLO. JLO falls in line with the greats! Not just anybody can be like them. There's a certain "IT" factor, a certain amount of talent, and a certain amount of drive that get you to that kind of status. She is regarded is the MOST successful LATINA entertainer of all time. Something deserves to be said for that! She's broken so many barriers and opened so many doors for latinas coming behind her. And she STILL shows mad love and respect to Selena all these years later! She doesn't deserve to be bashed and written off.
