Thanks for the views and comment @chrisbritton3840 ! I tried to be as honest as possible without making a 30 minute video. The Pros will always outweigh the Cons for me here in Kona! 😘🤙
You are most welcome Meghan! Anything that you would want to see moving forward? I'm in the "creating" mode again. Mahalo nui for the views and comment! 😎🤙
Aloha Darah! Thank you for your views and comments. Please feel free to call or write me with any questions you may have at the contact information in the video description. Mahalo! Todd 😃🤙
Pretty good video, I agree with everything you said. As a local in Kona I can’t really argue with any of it. Good production, well done, keep at it your channel should grow . Aloha!
I lived on the Big Island,, (in Waikoloa Village,,, 31 miles North of Kona Town) for almost 5 years.. beginning Feb, 2017. In Nov, 2021,,,, I sold my Big Island house,,,, and purchased a house on the Garden Island of Kauai,, (far Southwest end of the island, town of Kekaha,) and moved in. My present house is about a quarter mile from the Kekaha Beach. Therefore I've now lived here on Kauai for almost a year and a half. Let me just say that (equally,, six of one,, half a dozen of the other),,, there are both pros,,,,, AND cons,,, involving "life on EACH island". So flip a coin,, and take your pick.
Mahalo for your comment and views Stephen. I actually lived on Kauai before moving to the Big Island, so basically the opposite of what you did. That was 24 years ago, so, suffice it to say both Islands have undergone plenty of changes and development. 😎🤙
have visited Kina many many times over the years plan to move to the Big Island this year and can not wait to leave California will always come back to visit family but can't wait to make my new family in Kina so excited to be there ❤
Mahalo for the views and comments Edna! When are you planning on coming? Please feel free to give me a call if I can help you in your search for properties here in Kona. 808-937-1629 😎🤙
Hey Todd, saw some of your UA-cam videos, great prospective. This is Reinhard, you sold us property In milolii, and our house here in Kona in 2016. Done a lot of work on the house, you should come by one day and check it out.
Aloooooha Reinhard! Great to hear from you, and I was actually thinking of you guys while driving through Keauhou View Estates the other day! I'll stop by soon, and appreciate the video views my friend! Call me if you ever need anything: 808-937-1629
I really like your information. I am hapa and was raised in Pearl City. Left the island and moved to the mainland but finally returning back home to live the rest of my life back with my Hawaiians. I am moving to the Big Island because I want the silence and peace Oahu is to busy. I will contact you. I am looking at 3 properties Aloha
Aloha G K! Appreciate the kind words, and feel free to reach out to me if you need any help with your Big Island Real Estate search. LivingInKona.com is a great place to start, you can also book a call with me for a Buyer Consultation at the links in my description. Mahalo nui!
As a Big Islander, I say Kona is very warm unless you get up to 2k feet. And gas cost more. But having said that , living in Hawaii is fantastic no matter where you live and if you have a lot of money Kona is nice, just buy a house at 2k feet or more.
Thank you. I hope in 5 years (semi-retired) I can rent a place for 6 months. I would love to stay longer but I don't think I could get any family or friends to stay with me longer than 2 weeks. Paradise is beautiful but not alone. I would try to get a job at the ABC store to laugh at the tourists. I so know what vacation brain is like.
Mahalo for checking out my video Erik, and if you like this one, I'm thinking that you may enjoy some of the others on my channel. We have a lot of part-timers here on the Big Island who come for a few months to enjoy Hawaii, then return home. Hope you make it here eventually, and please feel free to reach out anytime! Alooooha!
Was in Kona about 5 years ago, swam with the 🐬 dolphins, snorkeled right off the coast, saw sea turtles, 💗 loved it! The people there love their Walmart.
Aloha Karen! Sounds like you had an excellent time in Kona. There's nothing like the feeling of being in the ocean swimming with the creatures that most only see on TV. Coming back soon? 😎🤙
And the Kona side is more truest and so the prices are more elaborate on that side of the island dryer yes but more expensive Hilo has its are coming off the ocean much cleaner air and yes more rain but when the volcano is producing smoke it usually flows over to the Kona side so it's a little cheaper even the restaurants and things and the air seems to be clear more consistently
Aloha Jay! Thanks for the views and comment. There's definitely pro's and con's to living on either side of the island. That's a great idea for my next video! 😎🤙
Aloha! I been to Kona & Hilo & loved it but only thing is the roaches, geckos & some centipedes I not liked. Some things do not work there like SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Amazon Prime will take like 7 days to get there & no Aldi's or Trader Joe's & many other things that are on the mainland. There is a Walmart & Costco's there which is nice but about 10% higher on some things. I can tell you this it's much cheaper on the Big Island than Oahu, Maui & Kauai. -Mahalo!
Aloha DrSysOp! Thanks for the views and your comments. You are absolutely correct about everything you mentioned. Living on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean does have it's drawbacks and differences from living on the Mainland. That's why I created this channel, so that people would know what to expect when considering moving to, and buying a home in Hawaii. Mahalo nui loa! 😎🤙
@@drsysop Yes, the flow itself has slowed, but if it continues it may cross the Daniel K Inoue Highway within the next 5 - 7 days. Luckily for everyone Pele decided to flow into the uninhabited part of the island!

Hawaii may seem like Heaven but if you cannot afford a decent living there, it's a kind of Hell where you must work all the time and cannot enjoy any of what it has to offer. Better to live in an affordable State then save money to go to Hawaii for vacation every year.
Aloha Andy! Mahalo for your thoughts and perspective. It's definitely important to properly plan before moving to Hawaii so that you know if you can afford the the cost of living in Hawaii in the first place. That's why I urge people to give me a call and chat about their specific situation if they are considering the move. 😎🤙
@tylerflowers5320 Mahalo nui for your views and comment. Hawaiian, Southwest, and Mokulele Air all offer interisland flights for as low as $39 one-way, and it's a great way to see all that Hawaii has to offer at affordable prices. Aloooooha! 😎🤙
