Funny story (sorta), the P&B shop that did my car aligned by hood/trunk-lid/doors so they needed the weather-strip attached to get them right. But they must have been Chevy guys because they glued the strip to the car not the lid. It worked better than I would have thought, but looked weird. So I am replacing it this weekend, the correct way.
FYI, According to Steele Rubber Co, you're supposed to smear the glue out flat on BOTH the trunk lid and the rubber so the glue doesn't ooze out the sides. Wait for both pieces to get tacky (and that depends on the temp in your shop) and when finally tacky THEN apply the rubber gasket.
Bill..I followed this step by steps, mounted great ..One issue, is he rubber supposed to ride the top ridge of the inner channel and not IN he channel ? Without a trunk latch it wants to sit about 8 inches open...is that normal until it bbreaks in ? Thanks in advance....
I just bought this weatherstrip from you and I need to install it. Good how-to video! You can lose the music. We're listening to you and it's not helping. Vent windows are next so can you do a vid on that too? Thanks

Very helpful video. The glue is drying. 🤞

Great video, one thing to maybe add is to use a red scuff pad over the weatherstrip, seems to help the adhesives stick better, that’s my experience
great video, can you guys maybe show how to change the vent window frames and their seiling?
Can you use a heat gun to take the old stripping off?
Nice video.
Can we see the out takes where Bill is cussing up a storm trying to get it to line up right?
Good job Buzzzzzz
Hey Bill do you have a video to do the lower door weather stripping install? Can't find one.
Great video, but wouldn't it be easier if you made the weatherstrip with 3M peel and stick tape?

what about a 64 1/2? will it work
2:21 - 2:22
wow i wish i could do all that in 1 second..
Will this work for a 1967 fastback?
+Brad Scott this is coupe only, we offer one for the 67 Fastback though and install is the same idea.
IS 69 MACH 1 SPORTSROOF INSTALL SAME AS COUPE?
Same concept yes
The 3m instructions say to apply a thin film to each part, allow to become tacky then stick together, fyi
